I did horrible.. 35 points out of a possible 100...alot of the answers, I thought I knew, were wrong!!!!!

Do NOT cheat and look it up in the Bible before you answer...

This is a great test, fun and enlightening.

Hint: answer according to the Bible, not tradition.

I got a 50/100 so I'm half right. Although some of the trivia was a little decieving (As the question on Dec. 25 being the we observe Christmas.) Also it seems that 11. is tricky too cause the last time I looked hay is food. [IMG]
Very interesting though to open eyes hopefully. Just a heads up.....some songs about Christmas and the Christmas story acually were in error.

Thats a great quiz because it shows us how many things we "think" because of the traditional stories that are told about Christmas...when in reality many do not know what the actual text says.

This last week I preached on the visit of the Magi and I shared with them the misconceptions of that story...many were surprised to know that they were not kings and there was not 3 of them and that they did not come to the manager, they came to a house.

It should challenge us to dig into God's Word and know what the actual text says instead of what our traditional stories say.

    85 percent.

I did this quiz at a youth camp for boys who had gotten trouble.

When I asked the question When Did Cry? One of them said, "Never. The songs says, 'No crying he makes." lol

Well, I got 45 correct, but I didn't analyze for the little tricks in some of the questions.

such as "said" not "sing" [IMG]

Great quiz, Sue. It was fun. If I took it again I probably would still miss some.

I guess I don't have a problem with whether Mary rode a donkey or not. Or if there were three wise men. Bible gives three gifts so that is where we get the three wise men from.

The important thing is that we know that our Savior was born and that he died for us on the Cross and rose from the dead and thus we have everlasting life because he died for our sins.

Even when we read the Bible and use our imagination we will differ in our understanding of a story, just as when we read any story.

Yes, we really should dig into the text to know what the Bible really says.

I love reading the Christmas Story in the Bible!

JohnV, How many times did you take the test? [IMG]

That is a great score. [IMG]

Sue, the first one to tell their score doesn't stand a chance. [IMG]

Only once. I thought about trying again for 100, but I though it best to quit while I was ahead. [IMG]

I got a 75, I disagree that I got the 'engaged' question wrong, because "betrothed" is more serious than "engaged." [IMG]

    I missed 9, 10 and 14.

    # 9 I missed because a devotional I just read said that the houses in Bethlehem are on the sides of hills (limestone) and the stables were actually caves under the homes.

    # 10 I missed because of tradition about animals being in the stable.

    # 14 was tricky. I checked wise men saw the star, ignoring the number 3 in front of it.

It was fun tho. I ALMOST checked, no crying he makes. LOL
