Church Government

    I have examined the issue quite a bit. That is why I am wiling to grant liberty to others to do it differently than I do. But I am quite confident that the NT gives no command or explicit instruction. There are patterns which are ambiguous.

    But I am still not sure what your reference to the Lord's Supper is about.

    I am saying that the doctrine of the Lord's supper and its possible variations (open, closed, close), is more vague that the doctrine of church government.

    Not as far as plurality of elders, IMO. I think I can make a more solid case for closed communion then I can for either single eldership or plurality of eldership ... and we don't even practice closed communion ...
