Quite a few Baptist church leaders have issued a public letter today urging politicians to behave as Christians should:

Convening a Christian conscience on behalf of refugees and immigrants
    Signatories include, among others:

    Suzii Paynter, Cooperative Baptist Fellowship

Russell Moore, SBC Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission

    Jen Hatmaker, Austin New Church

    Bryant Wright, Johnson Ferry Baptist

    Karen Swallow Prior, Liberty University

    Thabiti Anyabwile, Anacostia River Church

Jo Anne Lyon, The Wesleyan Church

    Ed Stetzer, Wheaton College

It's good to see genuine Christians working to help those who need it. I'm tired of hearing from the hypocrites who are not genuine followers of Jesus.

Yes, so refreshing to see some SBC and CBF folk taking this stand together.

...We are mindful of the difficulty of serving in public office and are grateful for your service. We ask that God would grant you wisdom and courage as you confront these and various other complex policy issues in the days and months ahead...

That's the mildest "rebuke" I think I've ever seen.

Nancy Pelosi Quotes from Bible in Filibuster-Style Speech for Dreamers

"Her speech began with a nod to Christian leaders....'Earlier this month I stood with evangelical leaders to call on the Speaker to bring the DREAM Act to a vote'....Pelosi then read from Luke chapter 10 — the biblical parable of the Good Samaritan. "

Pelosi stages 8-hour speech to push for vote for 'dreamers'

"House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi commandeered the House floor Wednesday for a day-into-night marathon plea to Republicans for action on immigration, casting the fate of young undocumented immigrants in moral terms. The 77-year-old Pelosi stood for more than eight hours, reading multiple personal stories from 'dreamers' and citing Bible passages"

Pelosi sets record with eight-hour House speech on immigration

"Pelosi, 77, stood in dark blue, four-inch stilettos the whole time as she read aloud stories of individual immigrants, known as “Dreamers,” and argued the merits of allowing them to stay in the country."

"The House historian’s office said in a statement that Pelosi’s speech was the longest continuous one it was 'able to find on short notice.' The last known record belonged to then-Rep. Champ Clark (D-Mo.) in 1909 at five hours and 15 minutes, the statement read, but he was repeatedly interrupted, unlike Pelosi."

"Pelosi's extraordinarily long speech underscored the level of pressure she faces from liberal activists who are urging Democrats to hold firm in negotiations to protect Dreamers."

The only resistance is from Pelosi and company who are resisting passing the dream act along with border security, ending the chain migration. That is why they are pretending there is some resistance to the dream act from conservatives. Its a lie.

I completely oppose rewarding the offspring of those who've criminally entered the US with citizenship. It's unjust; therefore, it should be opposed by all who are the side of justice.
