I LOVE Cirque de Soleil (Circus of the Sun).

    It's crazy, it's weird, it's mind-blowing, and it's very entertaining.

I watched a show one time about how these people train for the circus acts they perform.

Just watching them train was as awesome as watching them perform.

    Peace-

Saw them live at DisneyWorld. Very esoteric, artsy. Very talented. Amazing.

Is this the same Cirque de Soleil that's at the Belagio in Vegas? If it is, it looks horable and not something a "Christian" should be watching.

I thought it was awesome. If you don't want to watch it, then don't. Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed and found nothing offensive about it. Have you seen the show?

No, that's why I asked if it was the same one as in Las Vegas.

I have watched it many times and have never seen anything offensive.

I've simply seen circus acts. "Avant guarde" circus acts, mind you, combined with performance art, singing, and theatre.

No nudity, profanity, violence, or anything that bothers me as a woman or a Christian or an American.

However, I don't know how the Ringling Brothers would take it! HA! [IMG]

I am not arguing with you, just wanting to know. What is the matter with the one tht is performed in Vegas? Is nudity used or something else? Are you saying this just because it is shown in Vegas?

I'm not trying to argue eather, I realize there are different parts to Cirque du Soleil, and walking down the strip you see all those different versions, and imho some of them don't look to wholesome.

Don't mean to be argumentative I was just wondering.

Thanks, Paulsfocus, I just didn't know what you were referring to and thought I would ask. I have not even seen it, but I can imagine what it is like in Vegas--there isn't a lot of wholesome entertainment there period. I do agree!

I am guessing the one on TV may be some of the same group, but probably not as loose as the Vegas shows. But, then again I cannot say since I haven't seen it. [IMG]

It was the two hour Vegas show. Completely clean and fun for the whole family.

We saw them live at DisneyWorld a few years ago. There was so much going on at one time that you didn't know just who to watch!

Everyone loved it, T's father who had major misgivings going in. He's, shall we say, NOT a circus fan.

    Very unique experience.

I believe that the cable/satelite channel Bravo occasionally airs an event. But watch out for their commercials, not fit for adults much less children.

While I absolutely detest circuses, I do applaud this group for not using animals. [IMG]

Saw them in Vegas and was so impressed I saw them in Dallas this past year - amazing talent.

there was a big article in the Dallas Morning News about them, the training, life on the road, injuries etc.
