I heard on the news that 7-11 was dropping Citgo and going to sell their own brand of gas. Will be interesting to see if they do.

I don't know about Harry Belafonte, but I don't have much respect for a mother who would belittle her own son's and her son's buddies' sacrifices by consorting with an avowed enemy of the US.

I heard it said Chavez wrote Carlos, The Jackal, once, to call him his hero.

All Americans should refuse to purchase gasoline at CITGO stations and not put their money in the pocket of Chavez.

Well, if you like, don't buy any gasoline from the national oil company of the United States.

When did Venezuala become a Constitutonal republic? Is Chavez limited to 2 terms? You don't actually think he could be voted out, do you?

That's the point. Our oil industy isn't nationalized like it is in Venezuela where it is owned by the government.

Oh, I already stopped buying gas from Exxon about a year ago.

BTW, If we stop buying gas from Citgo, workers at Citgo headquarters, here in Houston, will be much more adversely affected than anyone in Venezuela.

So we are just to put up with the leader of Venezuela coming to our country and mouthing off and insulting our president with no consequences for his oil company?

Sure. It's the "new" American way. You reap what you sow and the US State Department (Bush administration) granted him permission to come here.
