JW's do not believe in blood transfusions and that is their sincere religious belief. Yet they are forced to give them to their children if needed. They are using the Lord! No one is called to marry people. Some real Christians do not believe in medial held. Prayer only yet they can be forced to have medical treatment by the government.
These two people are trying to justify their lawlessness in the name of Christ and they are in sin. Their sincerity means nothing when it is sincerely wrong and they are wrong. As a business we do not have the right to refuse service to people based on this lifestyle as long as their lifestyle is legal. They are not called to marry people so this is not a ministry or part of their calling. This is a business and they have to serve everyone like it or not. If they do not like it get out of that business.
Not exactly - the govt may force a JW child to have a blood transfusion - but they do not require the parent to preform the blood transfusion.
If I am not mistaken - a dr or nurse cannot be forced to preform an abortion.
And I would suppose a JW nurse would not be required to
assist in a blood transfusion.
I tried to find a link for that - not successful yet -
can anyone help with finding such a
link?
Salty, the difference here is that they are in a business. This is not a church, with pastors being forced to marry them. This is a business that is refusing service. It's the same as if I owned a McDonald's, but refused to serve food to gays.
They really are discriminating. They'll do adulterers, fornicators, and others. Just not homosexuals.
I never knew so many people believed that you had to put your Christian principles on the shelf when you opened a business.
I wonder if some of these people aren't the same ones that complain about the dishonesty of all kinds of businesses and their owners.
Next time you get cheated by a businessman, I hope you remember he doesn't have to act like a Christian...even though he 's a deacon in your own church.
If an employee steals he is fired
If a customer is obnoxious, the store can make him leave.
A store discriminates by not allowing men into the ladies restroom ( opps - that's in the courts)
Keep in mind, there is legal discrimination and illegal discrimination.
Problem is sometimes the government doesn't know when to keep its nose out of places it doesn't belong.
We often use the word discriminate, without realizing the proper meaning.
This couple have a valid religious belief that should be respected.
These two are nothing but systers using the Lord to make money and call it is ministry. They are in business, not ministry and have no right to discriminate against anyone who is legally asking for a legal service.
They need to get out of business and get into ministry.
Sure a Baptist church is a non-profit
and the Hitching Post is a for profit business
But as I stated before, Legally, in the United States, the Church Amendment protects the right of a doctor to refuse to perform an abortion, so a woman has no legal right to receive an abortion from an objecting physician. - even at a For Profit Hospital
Perhaps the covenant of marriage shouldn't be reduced to a diddy, a DVD and a payment? Why do something sacred outside the oversight of a local church? Skirting around the church for profit seems to catch up,with you eventually. If all they want to do is minister, why not dot it without payment?
If paying taxes violated my deeply held religous views, do I get to be exempt?
