CNN Nightmare

    So much for wireless tech !

    Back in the late 80's, I was still in the Philippines, and we had an American Bible Baptist preacher from Missouri as visiting preacher for the church anniversary.

    After he gave his sermon, he went to the bathroom located just as you turn the corridor after the flight of stairs from the raised platform.

    Turns out he had a "growing problem", and had been holding back for the better part of an hour.

    Well, you know what happened.

    Whole church heard the sound, all 700 or so in attendance. His wife's face was red as wine.

    Sounded like a waterfall, complete with the roaring rapids as he flushed the urinal.

    You know, both of those are humorous.

    The poor pastor couldn't help having to go potty. It's too bad everyone had to experience it with him.

    But that little anchor gal fiasco -- what a great reminder that everything we say might come back to haunt us. Some things are better left unsaid.

    As I am sitting here laughing at her, I can only think of how much worse it could have actually been.....

    You know....she could have said....

    ...."Don't let me forget to go to the pharmacy today and get my medication for (insert name of any STD)."

    ...."You know, ever since our dopey boss got that short haircut, don't you think his head looks kinda like a crouton?"

    ...."I swear, the next time my meddling mother-in-law invites herself over, I am spiking her coffee with Ex-lax!"

    See folks, it could have been a whole lot worse!

    Well, I'm not a technician, but that's exactly what I thought. I visited with my folks today and they thought that someone wanted to play her bathroom conversation over the president's speech and when it wasn't "juicy" enough, they stopped it.

    Maybe they thought she was going to say something negative about the president and all they got was her devotion to her husband and her suspicion of her sister-in-law?

    I mean, come on.....90 seconds before anyone "technical" noticed anything or could do anything?

    Call me paranoid, but I just don't go for it.......

    As someone who has manned the soundboard at our church for several years, the mute button is your friend. I would say a sound technician is going to lose their job.

    LOL! I'm with Scarlett, I could have been soooo much worse.

    Still, I bet Thanksgiving dinner at Kyra's parents is going to be verrrrryyyy interesting!
