Cola's cola. I'm not brainwashed. If I feel like I have to have any, it will probably be Sam's Choice.

Only Coke (or Diet Coke) -- it's the Real thing. Definitely not Pepsi.

Cherry Pepsi is by far the best.

I just recently had the Pepsi Max (diet pepsi with Ginseng and more caffeine). I would definately give it a thumbs up. It hardly tasted like a diet pop.

Although most Kentuckians I know refer to everything as "coke"... there is a difference.

    Coke (regular) all the way.

I do like the vanilla, black cherry vanilla, lime and any other combo as well.

But regular coke is the way to go.

Pepsi for me! I have been known to drink Coke if there is not a Pepsi around.

I really hate when I go into a restaurant and ask for a diet coke and the waitress says "we only have diet pepsi", or "is a diet pepsi ok?" YES IT IS OKAY! They know you want a diet cola...who cares if a fountain drink is pepsi brand or coke brand!

Why have you let Coca Cola brainwash you into saying "coke" when you mean cola generally?

I CARE! Diet Coke is great - Diet Pepsi is nasty! Well, maybe not nasty, but at least inferior.

Should it make a difference when they have programmed you to ask for their product when you will accept any of the 'genre'? You really are brainwashed.

I call it whatever I choose to call it. I would rather say "coke" than "cola". That's not the point, and has nothing to do with being "brainwashed". I prefer coke over pepsi, but it's not that big of a deal. If a restaurant only carried pepsi products, and I'm ordering a coke, it should be obvious to the waitress what I want.

I care! When I ask for a Coke, that's what I want! If I asked for a Coke and they brought me a Pepsi, I would refuse it because it's too sweet and I don't drink it.

In our parts a Coke means a Coke. It is not a generic term for any other brand of soda pop...

You wouldn't be able to tell the difference with a fountain drink, and may end up looking foolish by refusing it. It has to be made at the restaurant, so even a coke can be too sweet if not made right, less / more carbonation, etc.

You wouldn't call any brand of cola "coke" unless you are brainwashed. Do you call any coffee "Maxwell House" (or "Folgers" or "Hillsboro", et al)?

Other product brand names for which this brainwashing has worked include: Kleenex for tissue, Stetson for cowboy hat, and Nutrasweet for aspartame.

Has nothing to do with brainwashing...but habit. If you were raised with everyone in your family calling a product something, the company hardly had any influence in you being "brainwashed".

Have any of you tried REAL Cokes?
As in the way they used to be with real sugar and glass bottles? If you have a mexican grocery in your area, they usually have imported Coke, the real stuff, same syrup from Atlanta.
It is awesome because it has real cane sugar and no HFCS.

It will take you back to a time before 1985 when the "evil" ;-) contamination of Coke was made!

There is a reason it has become a habit and a reason your family has always called a generic product by a brand name. And that is flooding your mind so continually that you think in terms of their (the company's) product. That's brainwashing.
