MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — The Al Qaeda terror group in Iraq appears to be at its weakest state since it gained an initial foothold in the aftermath of the U.S.-led invasion five years ago, the acting commander of U.S. forces in the Middle East said Wednesday in an Associated Press interview.

Is this for real or is it another one of those pentagon "message force multipliers" sent from on high to make us all believers again?

How can we tell whats for real and what's made up after the pentagon's propaganda program fiasco and Bush's 2 billion dollars worth of fake news stories?

My credulity tank is on empty as far as the state and military industrial complex are concerned.

No, MP. The first mission of deposing Saddam Hussein Obama... oh sorry, my bad, the first mission of deposing Saddam Hussein and his regime was accomplished and this mission is ongoing and continuing to improve working to dispose Al Qaeda. Are you straight now? I know liberals have problems with those pesky little things called facts, like George Bush really winning the 2000 Presidential election. Enjoy, there is no charge for the truth.

As I said, my liberal friend, Youse have a problem with a little thing called facts, so continue to believe what you think to be the truth and people that know the truth will deal with the facts of the matter! Deal?

You said, "Mission accomplished ... again, to which I replied, "No, MP. The first mission of deposing Saddam Hussein Obama... oh sorry, my bad, the first mission of deposing Saddam Hussein and his regime was accomplished and this mission is ongoing and continuing to improve working to dispose Al Qaeda."

Does that help you to understand? I try not to make these things too hard for you.

    I'll give it a whirl.

He's put all the known facts in two sentences so there's no room for debate no facts exist other than these and if they do they're liberal facts and so they can't be entered into a debate. Look's like he has all the bases covered folks...hang it up we're beat!

Sounds like one of them there neo-neo conservative "dead enders" got through the wire some how. Is this what "the last throes of neoconservatism" sounds like?

    No problemo!

I've never seen such skill at distilling all the facts down to just two sentences before.

I'm in "shock and awe". :D

I'm kind of curious though. How'd you come to the conclusion that I'm a liberal?

From your posts I gather you are a liberal. If I am wrong, please accept my apologies and clarify your position.

No apologies needed I took no offense. I was just curious what criteria you based your judgement on that's all. What makes me a liberal in your view?

Oops, I thought we were going after AQ, not SH.

With respect to the original post, a point worth noting was that AQ was not in Iraq before we took out SH. Al-Zawahiri (probably misspelled) was in Iraq, but was not affiliated with AQ, and in fact, he was in the Kurdish area of the country, where SH couldn't get to him. SH would have butchered A-Z if given half the chance.

But not to worry: looks like we are seeing them in the "last throes." Oh, wait: that was back on June 20, 2005.

I guess this simply reinforces the fact that Iraq is a quagmire......

Regards, hope all is well with you and yours,
    BiR

Poncho is not a liberal, but I am.
And your "facts" simply don't add up.

    Again, regards,
