    Good Morning Everybody,

    Top-of-the-morning to 'ya JIM.

I guess we'll have to improvise since sister SUE is under the weather, and under the blankets as well.

This morning I brought in Srambled Eggs, Bacon, English Muffins with Imported Orange Marmalade, and Fresh-Squeezed Orange Juice, Hot Coffee, and Tea.

For SUE we have chicken soup, 2-three minute eggs, toasted homemade bread, and either hot coffee, hot tea, or juice. Just sing out when you're ready and Brent will bring it in to you.

Today I have to do some grocery shopping, pay some bills, and talk to an importer about some foods that are particularily difficult to find.

    First the chores...then the stores.

Thanks for the thought, Rob. British pork was banned from Canada when they had a pork disease a few years back and the ban was never lifted.......So, doesn't matter who the supplier is, they can't ship pork products into Canada. Believe me, I even tried to get wife to smuggle a pork pie when she came back from over home last year.

    Cheers,

Yum - Rob - I'm quite hungry this morning - thanks!!

Today is yet another late start but I'm up and not showered yet. I think I'm going to head over and ride today (first ride since my fall) since Bob is going away tomorrow until Monday and he doesn't want me to ride while he's gone. That's OK because I have no one to watch the little ones anyway.

So, I'm going to ride and hopefully the girls will get their laundry done and their bags packed since we have to bring their luggage for the retreat up to church tonight (they try to pack the trailer the day before to cut down on time packing the morning they get there). I'll need to hit up the grocery store later too - to get snacks and such for the kids and Bob (they're all going together) and also for me so I don't have to hit up the grocery store much while they're gone. I have to figure out what I'm going to make for us - just easy things I know, but I want to make up a grocery list later.

So, I'll talk to you all later! Enjoy the day!

Oh my Sue, sounds like a rough night! You need to call the doc and let him know what happened so he can find you something else for that cough.

    Good Morning Everyone!

We'll probably see to getting down the outside Christmas light today, since it is supposed to be sunny and fairly warm. For the most part we are going to lay around and do nothing, though. It feels soooo good to not have anything to rush and do for a couple of days.

I don't have to do what Rob is doing until Friday! :D 'Cept for milk. I gotta go make a milk run. We've gone through 2 gallons of milk since Friday! Oh well, it could be worse. We could have gone through all the $200 dollars worth of groceries I bought the same day!

Don't hurry about it! I love driving around and looking at lights between Christmas Day and New Year's. Today is only the 3rd day of Christmas, after all. Doesn't end till Epiphany on January 6th!

    Good Evening Everybody,

I finally got my shopping done. What a madhouse.

Tonight I tried a new recipe for a crockpot dinner, it's called Orange Chicken and Sweet Potatoes, with Maple Glazed Baby Carrots, and
    Praline Cheesecake.

This is truly "flying by the seat-of-you-pants" cooking. I'll see how it is received before I post it.
I refuse to post any recipe that results in a dish that even I won't eat.

I don't hear any coughing, SUE must be getting better.

For those who like to drop by later in the evening I brought in Brownie Bottom Cheesecake Bars, and Cafe Ladyfinger Dessert. Enjoy.

It's time to see if our "crockpot supper" is edible or not.

Let us know Rob and I'll make it for my group next week. One change though since carrots are a no no in this house, I'll substitute apples instead. I already make a side dish of fried sweet potatos and apples sweetened with brown sugar that my folks love. Never thought about adding chicken to it. Hmmmm...... It would be really nice to be able to cook it in the crock pot.

I have accomplished absolutely nothing today. Played around some with a new embroidery digitizer for my sewing machine, read some of it's manual and downloaded the demo. That's it. I've done nothing else at all. What is so sad is that I'm about ready to find my bed and the remote and it is barely 5 o'clock. Too bad my folks want supper.

What I should be doing is working on Cassie's outfit that I got a good start on yesterday. I could have had it finished by now if I had only gone to the sewing machine today instead of the computer.

Oh well, lazy feels pretty good so I'll just procrastinate until tomorrow. For now, I'll stir up enough energy to make tacos and maybe sink a few battleships and just plain out be a bum for the rest of the night. :D

Ann, I'm confused. Will this be a break for you, to have 3 of your folks out of your hair, or more work because your built in babysitters will be gone? ;) :D

I'm a bit confused as to what it's going to be too. LOL!! I just hit the grocery store so that I don't have to do that while they're gone - we have a drive through dairy where we can get lots of stuff like milk, eggs, bread, etc. so I can do that. I've gotten so lazy now with the big girls watching the little ones!! What WILL be nice is to not worry about making real food for the next 5 days. I picked up some Lean Cuisines for myself and I'll make the kids their favorite foods. It will also be nice to be able to run out and not worry about anyone's schedule. We're planning to hit Chuck E. Cheeses one night and then another day we'll do a Build A Bear with them as part of Joanna's birthday gift. Otherwise, we've got to catch up in school a bit and clean up the house (which is SO much easier without the true mess makers around).

Cindi: I got some different cough medicine this afternoon. The pharmacy even delivered it!

Rob: If you can't hear me coughing, you must live WAY across that lake... My rib cage is so sore. I am breathing much better, but I sure don't have any strength.

I am not eating much. Prednisone does that to me. It has taken me all day to try and eat a can of chicken noodle soup. I started at breakfast and there's still enough left for breakfast tomorrow.

Hubby and Brent ate McDonald's for supper. I couldn't even stomach the thought and I love their french fries.

I hate that feeling when you're so tired and the meds won't let you sleep.

I'm gonna try anyway though or wait until my face smashes into the keyboard.

    Pleasant dreams all!

    Good morning all,

As you can see, I'm up early. I finally got to sleep around midnight. My voice sounds like a bass, but I think I am feeling some better, otherwise. PTL! Brent will be gone much of today and this evening and tomorrow from noon 'til midnight (basketball game in Iowa) so I am going to take advantage of some 'sleep whenever I want to' time!

It seems easier to take short naps during the day than to sleep at night but I really don't like to make Brent be quiet all the time. He's so good about taking care of me. He does watch DVD's or play his educational CD's on my computer (offline) if I really feel the need to lay down for a nap.

He has already prayed that he could be sick instead of me. :saint:

And then he prayed that whoever gave this to me was really sick too.

Time for a glass of eggnog and meds. A spoonful of sugar (eggnog) helps the medicine go down. [IMG]

Hope to pop in later if I'm not [IMG].

Sue - I love my family but love when they are out sometimes too. Even though I'm home alone with just the little ones for the next 4 days and I have no built-in babysitter anymore, I'm looking forward to the freedom of not having to take care of EVERYONE. I don't have to plan big dinners (we're doing kiddie friendly dinners and I'm doing Lean Cuisines or something like that), and I don't have the bigger mess-makers around! LOL! I hope you can get a lot of rest today and tomorrow!

Today will be a regular day of homeschooling. No laundry needs to be done because I did a marthon washing the last few days so it will just be cleaning up the mess from Christmas. Today I plan to not leave the house if possible - well, I MAY need to hit up the library since Bob has an overdue book but I just may pay the extra $0.05 and do it tomorrow. :D

    Good Morning Everybody,

In the immortal words of Jimmy Durante "What a revoltin' development this is!"

First Ann falls then I fall. Now Sue has bronchitis and so do I. I love you both as sisters-in-Christ, but we gotta quit sharin' things. Wait, I know...blame it on the computer. Sue and I both have computer viruses, we've cross-infected each other thru our computers. I went to my doc this morning and he put me on some antibiotics, and decongestants.

MK - That meal was great last night. I'll try and post the recipe later today. The Maple-Glazed Carrots are a seperate side-dish. They do not go in the crockpot. The Orange-Chicken and Sweet Potatoes go in the crockpot. Everything else mentioned is a seperate side-dish.

Right now I'm living on homemade French Onion Soup with homemade french bread.

Needless to say, dinner tonight is leftovers.

I brought in Beef Pot Roast Sandwiches au Jus, Banana Pepper Slaw, and Mocha Angel-Food Cake with Raspberry Sauce. Enjoy.

Time to try and take a little nap.

I'm glad I live farther south than the rest of you and the broncitis hasn't hit here!

    Good Morning Everyone!

We slept until nearly 10 o'clock this morning! I couldn't believe it. This is the latest we've slept this whole vacation. The stupid garbage trucks woke us up. I'm mad at them too. Not because they woke us up but because they weren't supposed to be around until tomorrow and I still had garbage to be put out!

Since I was so lazy yesterday, I think today I'll get back to work and try to finish Cassie's outfit. And there are Christmas lights to be taken down outside. (sorry Karen) It is supposed to turn off rainy tomorrow so today will be the last nice day before T goes back to work to get them down. I'm not taking the tree down until Sunday afternoon though. Between the virus and the funeral, I haven't had enough time to enjoy it yet.

And so will go the day, ya'll have a nice one!

    Enjoy the wedding Gwen!!!

    Good morning all,

Have a good time, Gwen. We'll be looking forward to pictures and don't forget the kleenex! :tear:

Rob: You're just gonna have to stop trying to be 'one of us gals'. The suffering is just too great. :BangHead:

Brent leaves for a basketball game in Iowa at noon today. It's a four-hour drive, each way. I will try to catnap while he's gone. I can't sleep for very long because I either start coughing or wheezing, both of which wake me up.

Cindi: I did the same thing with the garbage this week. They usually come on Thurday unless there's a holiday, then they come on Friday. I still have trash (Christmas wrappings, etc.) to take out, but I'm not even sure if they came yesterday and I'M not going outside this early to see!

Karen: I'm leaving my outside decorations up and lit as long as I can get by with it. I LOVE them! We didn't get to drive around and look at the lights because I got sick, but I hope some of them will still be lit up when the doc says I can go outside again!

The only thing I dislike about decorating for Christmas so much is that the house and lawn look so bare when I have to take everything down.

Well, tomorrow is my last day for Azithmorycin (Z-Pac) and 5 more days of Prednisone. Hopefully, that will knock it. If I have to go back to the doctor still sick, he will make me go into the hospital. :praying:

Time for hot chocoloate so I can take my meds.

    Have a good day all!

Ahaaa Gotcha! The only hot beverage I drink is hot chocolate, and that's how I took my meds this morning. I'll forgive you though it does help the meds go down.

Sue: I bet if you and I coughed at the same time we could cause major squawls on that "little pond" that seperates our states.

The antibiotics and decongestants I'm on feel like they're working. *AGAIN, HUH?* my next step was a stay in the hospital too. I hate hospitals they're full of sick people.

I brought in mini-pecan sticky buns, sausage scramble, and homefries for the unafflicted in our midst. Enjoy. * THE ABOVE HAS BEEN CHECKED AND IS FREE OF COMPUTER VIRUSES * I don't want to be accused of making anybody else sick.

At least ya'll have good spirits!

Today is exchange day, isn't that exciting? :tonofbricks:

I hate paying bills! Most of them I'm going to leave until next week, but I have to make the house and car payments today. Uggg!

Then it will be on to shopping, which I hate almost as bad as paying bills. But, Cassandra was supposed to get a few new pieces of furniture with her room make over and what we had ordered got put on back order. We cancelled it because we had ordered the stuff back in August and now they tell us it won't be in till February! This is actually a good thing, because after we placed the order, I started seeing similar furniture at a much discounted price!

    Time to get at it!

Good day to all! It is a lovely, very cold day here in my corner of the world, but it is winter, isn't it?

Praise God, I finally got my computer straightened around and working. I deleted Norton! I discovered that I can accomplish the same protection using Windows Firewall..........without all the crashing and blocking and Norten telling me where I can go and where I can't go....it was trying to take over my computer,,,,,,,,like a virus in itself.

    Cheers everyone, be well,

    Jim

    Hello, Coffee House Friends,

I haven't been in here in a few days and had some catching up to do.

I do hope those of you who are sickly will feel better soon.

We are once again having plumbing problems.:tonofbricks: :BangHead:

    Good morning all,

I won't give another health update. Suffice it to say that I am sorely sick and tired of being sore, sick and tired!

I stayed up until 1:00 this morning waiting for Brent to get back from his basketball game in Iowa. I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer. I'm not sure what time he got home, but I'm letting him sleep in. I will find out if they won and how he played when he finally wakes up. (I may be back in bed by then...) :tongue3:

I joined the cheapest plan that Netflix has and it is working out great so far. We are weaning ourselves off of evening TV. The commercials are getting terrible to watch anymore.

They distribute the DVD's for my area in Springfield so we only have a one-day turnaround. We take turns picking out the movies. Maybe we will eventually get rid of our cable. That would be a big savings each month!

Time for hot chocolate (and meds)!
