    Good morning all,

I had planned to stay cozy and warm inside today but looks like I have to get groceries or starve. We've had serious flu all week, except for my hubby, who will probably catch it now that everyone else is better.

FoG--I'll have to stop reading this thread before breakfast. Your recipies look delicious!

    Stay warm today everyone!

Whyn't you invent us a self cleaning house, Rob? You'd make a million(probably several)! Thanks for the recipe Cuz!

    Good Morning Everyone!

My days pretty much sounds like Cuz's. Housecleaning and doing for other folks. Only I'm sewing instead of cooking (have I mentioned I don't cook?). All three kids are home for the day. Cass and Chris still have their stomach bug and Jenna feels bad because of that sinusy thing that has gone around the house. I've been calling her Froggy this morning because she is so hoarse. She doesn't think that is very funny for some reason.

I'll have to go pick the sewing up or have my friend's husband deliver it to me. Can't leave 3 sick kids and 3 ratty dogs by themselves.

Speaking of dogs, these three all looked a bit funny to me when they got here. They're not pure breds so they look a bit funny anyway, but this was more than usual. I finally got a chance to really look them over and figured out what the problem is. My mother (suffers from alheimer's) won't have the dogs clipped in the winter cause she's afraid they'll get "cold". So their coats are fairly long and so are their "top knots". Evidently Mother decided that they couldn't see out from beneath all that hair and "cut their bangs". Evidently, 3 little dogs didn't want their bangs cut and wouldn't be still, cause those bangs are awfully crooked! Poor little dogs!

Ah well, I'd better get to cleaning house and doing laundry. Need to get that done before the sewing starts.

    Cindi

    Mornin' folks!

Oh, Gayla, I'm so sorry! That is scary. I hope the chemo pills won't affect you. You are definitely in my prayers. God bless you!

FoG, you really want your house to get hot enough to self-clean? Wouldn't that be 'self-immolation' instead?

We're having a dry winter this year, it looks like so far. Lots of rain in December, but almost none this month, which is unusual. Foggy mornings and bright, sunny, almost warm afternoons. Beautiful, though.

The people still have not arrived to fix our vinyl, although they inspected it Monday! Due here today? Oh, good, with Bible study here tonight....
    Life is getting interesting.

Tomorrow Gina takes Anna up to Portland for an angiogram and we'll watch the two older girls for a couple of days until they are back. Please pray for Anna through this. She's so little, even if she is ten....almost.

And the people who are doing the video stuff on Barry are coming by Friday morning to go over some stuff.

OK, these are my last quiet moments between now and....????

    God bless you all!

Gayla - I continue to keep you in my prayers!! ((HUGS))

Today is a busy day for me. I'm home for just a little bit - ran to church to get stuff done for the ladies retreat but had to give up the computer for the kid's program tonight. So I took Robby to get a much needed haircut instead and then went and got a better brace for my hand than the one that the insurance company got me (tha one was WAY too stiff and immobilizing - I just really need my wrist kept back in a neutral position - don't need to keep my fingers and thumb from moving too!!). I went back and finished up the "concert of prayer" that will be done Saturday night on the retreat (going through the 23rd Psalm with prayer and songs interspersed - it will be great but the visuals play a big part too and it takes a LONG time to put that together - 7 hours so far for something that will last about 30-45 minutes. Whew!! Now I just need to put together Friday night's meeting, Saturday morning and Saturday night and Sunday morning with communion. Yep - this next paycheck will be a good one!! LOL!!

After dinner at the yacht club (we're finishing up the minimum tonight - with my surgery, we got behind and will lose about $20 if we don't go tonight), we'll go up to church for my class (Bob will be helping to teach it). I'm taking a class on Bible Study Methods - which is really a study in Scripture and how to study it - not just a 'quiet time' kind of study. It's really good!!

After that, I'm going to try to squeeze in another hour on the computer before I have to come home - if I can. LOL!! I tell you, my hand is getting quite the workout!! It's sore in the morning - like when you exercise after being sedintary for a while. It's a GOOD soreness!!

Gayla, you are in my prayers!!:praying:

I think the city of Atlanta has gone nuts. The weatherman is predicting some sleet and freezing rain, and so they have cancelled flights at the airport tomorrow in anticipation of 1/4 inch if sleet! The news is having a special starting at 4 a.m. to let us know how much sleet is on the roads. It is all supposed to be over, and the temp above freezing by afternoon. I guess all you people up North think we are wimps! Probably because we are.....lol

    Have a good night!

    Good morning all,

We're having a heatwave, it's up to 20º!!! Snow is on the way...

My birthday lunch at school went over so well that the school is trying a new idea (for them) all this month. Different mothers, teachers, and others will bring a hot lunch one day, all this month. If it goes over well, they will continue with it - at least until warm weather.

I am taking enough chicken and noodles, bread & butter, Kool-Aid and Snowball cake for 40 people Monday.

If it is going to continue, I am going to suggest to the school that the kids pay 50¢ per meal. That is cheap enough for them and it will help out with the ingredients. It's expensive to feed that many people and I'm sure they'll have more volunteers if they have some help with the money. I can't pack a lunch for 50¢!

I'm starting my search today for chickens on sale!!!

    HAGD!

Good morning Lady Sue! Thanks on the Dr Pepper offer, but I gave that up a while back on doctor's order (Dr. Lenke Halo that is). Now I am drinking just plain Club Soda... getting old you know. :)

    Good Morning Everybody,

Barnabas: The word "old" is verboten in the Coffee House, Sir. We prefer Mature, and by command of Her Royal Highness Sue : We are forever 39 years old.

Sue: A Chicken 'n Noodles dinner for 50 cents???? Sign me up. Knowing your cooking ability I think the students are in for a treat. My cooking is nowhere near as good as Sue's. I just give mine fancy names to make people think it is.

It is 18 degrees here right now heading for a high of 20. Saturday the high is supposed to be 10 degrees. Miss Sue would you please send some warm air across the big pond to me?

I brought in Bacon, Eggs[any type you want], hot Biscuits and Sausage Gravy. It's a poor substitute for Sue's Chicken 'n Noodles but at least it's hot and filling.
Coffee-Hot Chocolate-and water for Tea are on the counter. Enjoy.

Last night I dropped off the meal at the hospital on my way in to Prayer Meeting.

I have to go get supplies for a Super Bowl Sunday Party at our house. Haven't decided what to fix yet, but I will by tomorrow.

Finally got the final component of my Wife's Valentines Day present. I went to her favorite shops and put some funds on account so she can get herself pampered at a day spa, a new wardrobe, and have 2 doz. Yellow Roses delivered to her. Now I'm finished. I think she'll enjoy it :applause:

Enough talking, time to get to work.

Ladies, I think we're going to have to send a copy of Rob's gift to his wife to our husbands in a hurry!!!! They need time to compete! :D

    Good morning everyone!

Good to see you Brother Barnabas!

Mmmm! Gravy and bisquits for breakfast and Chicken and noodles for lunch! I'm all set for the day!

Gwen, our part of the south did pretty much the same thing. I ran into Walmart yesterday cause I needed a few things for the sick kids and some sewing supplies and on the way out one of the check out ladies asked me where my milk was. I said I had enough milk and she gave me this incredulous look and said "you know it's supposed to freeze?" She wasn't happy with me when I pointed out that the ice was only supposed to last for 2 hours I and doubted I'd run out that fast.

Back to the sewing machine, today.

Hey y'all!!! My prayers have been answered. For the past 4 years, every winter i would pray for snow. Finally, today, it is snowing in Greenville, SC!!!!!
It started snowing @ 6:00am and all of the schools are canceled.
My family has already been out in the snow sledding, building snowmen, and having snowball fights. Even the dog got excited and started rolling in the snow!!
It has begun to rain freezing rain now, so we are all soaked!
Is it snowing anywhere else in the south?
    :tongue3:

Barnabas, good to see you here!

Sue, I used to do hot lunches once a week for a 'small' Christian school of about 150! I got good at turning nothing into something!

FoG, that's an incredible gift. I would be embarrassed if Barry spent that much on me. I'll take a dinner out at a buffet while someone watches Chris! I love just spending time with my crazy Aussie. We get little enough of it alone together.

One minute to go and I drive the girls to school. God bless you all and have a great day.

Oh yeah, weather same today and all week. Freezing at night and between 45 and 50 during the day with clear sunny skies. Gorgeous.

I have some winter gardening to finish up this afternoon and the men are working hard on the floors. They found our exact vinyl at the dealer's -- same dye lot and everything. Thank you Lord!

My humble apologies ladies for breaking the command of her Royal Highness. Naturally I stand corrected. However, let me ask you a question, does this royal edict applies to the men as well or just to the ladies? For the latter I understand, but the former I have a hard time digesting.... for my aching bones tell me otherwise. :)

Good to see you too, ladies. Always a pleasure to read your posts, even though I don't always engage in a conversation..... pressing duties, you know. :type:

Good day from a warm but cloudy South Georgia.:wavey:

I'd be happy to share a bit of this warm air with you Rob. I'll see if I can fan some of it North in a bit.

Horsegal, glad y'all are enjoying the snow. But hope the freezing rain will melt soon!

We haven't seen any snow in almost 9 years! We were living in Las Vegas and were driving up to Utah to visit Carl's Mom. Boy was it snowing!! It was the first trip up there after we got married.

Took my first dose of Xeloda about an hour ago. I think I'm starting to feel a bit dizzy now. (If I knew how to add the other smilies, I'd use one that gets dizzy then falls over.)

    I'll talk to y'all later.:wavey: :sleeping_2:

Oh, FoG, I didn't mean to put you down! I am totally impressed by your gifts to your wife. I am just saying I would be embarrassed to receive so much. That's just me.

    God bless you!

Barnabas, if I ever reach 39 I will have set a longevity record for the world in our time! You see, I will only be 14 3/4 this year.....I will finally have my fifteenth birthday next year, in 2008.

    Let's see....39x4....that equals 156 years. Yup, me and Abraham....

I will say, however, I definitely have a head start on the old aching bones for only being 14!

Helen my Friend, I never thought for a moment that you were "putting me down." I know you better than that.

Please don't measure anybody else by what I do. To tell the truth sometimes I've been known to "go whole hog" more often then I should. Warm hearts, good food, and watching a sunset can't be bought, or beat.

Hopping on quickly while the pizza heats up. I have to run back to church after being on the laptop all morning trying to put together all the graphics for the Ladies' Retreat. WHEW!!! I can't believe how many hours that's taken me! I still need to put together Sunday morning with communion but that should take about 20 minutes now.

It's chilly here but not as cold as the rest of you - it's 36 right now. We're due to get some snow then rain tonight - I wish we could just get some snow!! But then again, the ladies are all leaving tomorrow to head to the Chesapeake and I just pray for their safe travels.
