    Hello Pappy,

Yes, I think that is what I would put in for myself. I don't like straight tea but lemon added makes all the difference.

    Blessings

Pappy - That hot chocolate looks absolutely glorious!! Oh my goodness - on a cold winter day, that's just perfect!!

It's cold (not frigid - about 34 degrees F) and sunny today. Just came home from church after a great service. DH led worship and it was wonderful and the message, from Romans 1, was great. I think we just may be able to say we're done with Romans chapter 1 in 5 months if we finish by the end of this month!! LOL - Yeah - we go through books REALLY slowly! Took 4 years to get through Genesis - 2 1/2 for Revelation.

So, now I'm vegging on the computer for a bit and then I have to go foodshopping - as much as I don't want to go. I'm honestly tempted to do the online shopping and have it delivered but I'm too cheap to do that. LOL!!

Tonight DH and I will hit the yacht club again - time for a new month's minimum to get through. We'll just do the "bar menu" which is burgers and salads - stuff like that. But it's an evening out alone, which is nice. The kids can have whatever's in the fridge because we have a lot of leftovers.

Sue - Definately take a nap. You need it!! DH is taking one right now - worship tends to tire him out a lot. Take it easy, you hear??

    Good morning all,

It is 30ยบ this morning, but we're heading for another cold snap. It had to warm up so we could get freezing rain and ice underneath the additional 8-10 inches of snow we are expecting from this afternoon until tomorrow afternoon. We are under a Winter Storm Warning and 40mph winds are expected to cut visibility down to 0 and cause much blowing and drifting of the snow.

No school today because of Abraham Lincoln's birthday. Brent and I will do laundry today and we may get out to buy some groceries before the snow hits - not sure yet. I may just stay inside and send dh to the store on his way home from work.

We're supposed to go look at a new (used) car for me this week, but not in THIS weather! Bad time for a test drive.

We're looking at a 2000 Dodge Intrepid. I have outgrown my little Ford Escort. MY bucket is getting too big for the bucket seat!

    Time for hot chocolate!

    Good morning!

The kids do have school today here, but hubby is off work, so we're going to have a "date day" just in time for Valentines Day. He wants to take me shopping at some outlet stores.:applause:

Sue-I checked out your website and I loved the Valentine's Day history page.

    Stay warm everybody!

    Good Morning Everybody,

I hear you Sue. Just when you get a taste of warmer weather you find out it was the appetizer not the main course.

Today I will get the final piece of my Wife's Valentines Day gift... I'm going to propose to her on Valentines Day, I've already bought the ring and the flowers. I'm not quite as nervous as I was the first time, I guess practice does make perfect. Why she would want to marry an
intinerant cook is the next question.

We'll leave midday tomorrow and be back on Friday. Kind of a short honeymoon isn't it?

I brought in Hashbrown Breakfast Casserole, Potato and Pork Frittata, Blueberry-Walnut Coffeecake, and Berries with Orange Scones. Enjoy.

PLEASE Ladies, not a word to my wife. I want this to be a complete surprise.

Rob - I'm sworn to secrecy. ;) What a wonderful gift to your wife - I hope you have a wonderful honeymoon!

Today is the same old, same old except, if I have time, I'm going to take my 16 year old to finally get her driving permit. OY!! I'm NOT up for this yet! LOL!

We were SUPPOSED to get some snow this week but now it looks like it will be snow turning into rain. I'm SO disappointed!! I NEED SNOW!!! These kids haven't worn their snow boots, made a snowman, thrown a snowball yet this year!! :(

    UGH!

    Good Morning Everyone!

Hit and running today, cause I have a ton to do. (no reading today!) Already went to Walmart (despite Rob's warnings, I forgot to buy valentine's for Jenna) and figured the checkbook (shoulda probably done that before Walmart  ) and halfway figured out the rest of today's schedule. Half the afternoon will be spent at the shop, hence no posting here! I'll be back this evening for a bit.

Ya'll have a nice day. Sue and Cuz, ya'll bundle up if you do go out today. I saw the nasty weather that is headed in ya'll direction. Brrr and eeww!

    See ya later!

Rob, the Harbor House is charming! I'm sure you and your wife will have a great time.

It was 68 degrees here today. Absolutely beautiful. Tomorrow we are supposed to get thunderstorms and cold weather moving in. High on Wed. will be in the 40's. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.

Sue, I love your Valentine's Day Page!!

It's done. And it was a fourteen hour day doing it. We were awakened at 4 this morning with news about Barry's sister in Australia. She had fallen, broken her FEMUR (!) (the big bone between your knee and hip) in a fall and had just come out of surgery.

Couldn't go back to sleep because we had to be up at five anyway. By 6:15 we were off and driving the 2 1/2 hours to Eugene for Chris to have his dental work done under anesthesia, as that is the only way it can be done.

Got there about 9. Checked in. Surgery was scheduled for 10:20.

    We waited.
    and waited.
    and waited.

The surgery before us was having problems and the doctor and room were not ready for Chris until almost 12:30. Doctor figured he would tak an hour and a half, so we went to lunch with some friends and got back to the hospital in time for Chris.

He was wheeled into recovery a little after two. Blood on his teeth and mouth and yellowish disinfectant or antibacterial on his face in spots.

He had an awful time coming out of it. But, finally by about 3:30 we were ready to leave for home and I sat in back with Chris, putting cool washrags on those sore jaws. We got home a little after six, about fourteen hours from when the phone woke us up this morning.

    BUT, every prayer was answered.

    1. No cavities and no major problems. Only cleaning was needed.
    2. Chris didn't throw up on the way home.
    3. The roads were dry coming and going (a miracle for this time of year in Oregon).
    4. The doctor was excellent, the nurses wonderful and the dental work perfect. And they were so kind to us.

The drive early this morning was incredibly beautiful. Driving through the mountains and valleys, the fog was laying low in the valleys and looked like giant lakes before we drove down into it and then out of it into sparkling clear air to see the sun come up. It was a magnificent drive.

And it was wonderful to see our friends, and lunch was so good.

It was a hard day, but a good one. Chris is asleep now and I'm almost, too. Got to wait up for just a bit more and then I can hit the sack. Have to make sure Chris is down for the night and not going to wake up hungry in a little bit. It's only 7:20 here now.

But we thank God for answering every prayer about today with a 'yes'. He is a wonderful, merciful, loving Lord and we praise Him.

    Good Morning Everybody,

It is 20 degrees here with snow starting. Our forecast is for 5"-8" of snow, with blowing snow and considerable drifting.

Sue: How much of the "dirty white stuff" did you end up receiving?

Helen: See? Road Trips do sometimes work out.

I surprised my Wife with news of our plans, and that she had an appointment with a day-spa today. I gave her a new Bible and Bible Cover. It's a Women of Faith Bible [NIV], and the Bible Cover has Footprints
on it [her favorite devotional verse.]

After I drop her off at the day-spa I have some errands to run [well, I did havesome important planning to do during the past weeks] then I'll pick her up and we'll head for South Haven.

I'm hoping we get there before the snow hits South Haven. Those folks get "lake effect" from being on Lake Michigan. Nice place to be snowed-in at though.

The coffeehouse is going to have to deal with good cooking until I get back. I strongly recommend the meals you Ladies make, if you don't believe me...stroll over to the What's for Dinner? thread.

Sue: When we get back the first thing I'm making is Salmon Patties. I found two fantastic recipes in the What's for Dinner? thread.

I brought in Eggs, Waffles, bacon, sausage, and sausage gravy and biscuits. The dozen roses in the vase on the counter are to remind you how important you Ladies are. This is just a small token of my admiration for you...I'm sure your Husbands will demonstrate their feelings for you in more demostrative ways.

Good morning Rob, Sheila, and all who will be stopping by later,

Rob: You better 'git' before the snow comes! We are under a blizzard warning. So far, we've received around 8 inches of new snow on top of the 5 inches we already had on the ground.

It is snowing very hard and blowing and drifting is making visibility very bad. They canceled school today, which is rare around here. We're supposed to get another possible 8 inches before this stops around midnight tonight.

I'm glad I went to the store yesterday and got bread and milk because my car is buried! There will be a lot of fender benders in town today and I don't want to be one of them.

I'm trading my car in later this week and it doesn't need any more 'dings' in it than it already has!

I'm going to fix Brent a big, hearty breakfast because he will be outside shoveling snow several times today.

    Have a good one!

    Have a nice vacation, Rob!

Rob - I pray that you and the Mrs. have a wonderful time!!

Helen - I'm so glad that everything went OK and that Chris is doing well. Did he have a good night?

Sue - How are you doing with the sleeping thing?? I hope you got a good night's sleep last night.

This morning was my first real PT appointment and it was great. The breaking up of the scar tissue felt SO good - I could deal with that all the time. It was just the ice that drove me bonkers - they pack your hand in a big ice pack and it's SO painful (think of thrusting your hand in ice water and leaving it there for 10 minutes). My hand is a little sore but it feels good too - LOL!

I'm off to go food shopping. I was supposed to go Saturday, then Sunday, then Monday and now it's been put off too long. We're due to get snow and ice so I want to get in whatever I can now so that I'm all set. I'll bring in firewood after I get back and I'll make a big pot of soup today to leave in the fridge for the shovellers. I asked the PT if I can shovel and he said "no" so I'll not be out there with everyone else. I love to shovel so this is actually bad news for me. ;)

Have a wonderful day everyone!! Stay warm and safe (except Jon - I hope you enjoy your warmth!).

Have fun, Cuz! Don't worry about the coffeehouse. I might break down cook some myself. Then again, I may just stay lazy and let Sue do all the work! :D

It is absolutely pouring rain here today! It is supposed to lighten up a bit and then start storming this afternoon. It may keep me from doing what I had planned today: karate and a smocking class the ladies at my church want me to give and I had planned to start today. But I have Chris here with a migraine and I don't want to leave him alone if it is going to storm.

We may have a new puppy. Someone dumped out a what appears to be a border collie mix in the neighborhood. I should have taken her in last night, but I don't like to bring in new animals without preparing T first. Plus, she was playing at the neighbors so they may want her. This'll be my drama for the day. I didn't see her when I took the kids to school so I may have to walk around the neighborhood and she where she has taken up. (We are all do lovers here and most of us have more than one) It may be she already has a home.

    Ya'll have a nice day!

Hi! Yes, Chris had a good night, and thank you. He is doing fine today, just a little subdued. I can live with that!

Sunny with puffy clouds here. Did a lot of outside work this morning and desk work now. It feels good to be back home and getting things done.

MK, let us know about the puppy. Hate to think of a little guy out in the rain...

Ann, at home, soak your hand in nice warm-to-hot water for about five minutes and that will soften a lot of scar tissue, too, and you will be able to do a lot of exercises at home. Just go gently.

Rob, have a wonderful time and God bless you both.

Sue, trading in your car for a good draft horse? They handle the snow pretty well and give you fertilizer, too.....LOL

OK, played around here long enough. Got desk work to do. God bless you all. Oh, and if you see this, thanks for the virtual roses, Rob!

I think one of the nieghbors is going to keep the puppy. They've never had a dog so this will be a new experience for them. :D Foo Foo is in my back yard at the moment defending herself from the three little mutts, though. She followed me home when I came in from karate and my neighbor wasn't home. She's a cute little thing and must have been kept inside, cause that's where she wants to be! Hopefully, Foo Foo will have new and improved name very soon.

It's birthday time at the menagerie again. Jenna has finally reached the ripe old age of 9! She wants go iceskating this weekend for her present. So that's what we'll do. There are some surprises coming in later tonight for her and she is trying to decide what we are having for dinner (Sonic, Taco Bell or Chik fil a). I hope she decides soon cause I missed lunch!

It's supposed to storm here again later. Well, actually it is supposed to be storming right now, but the system didn't move in as fast as the weather man thought. Probably means they'll be worse cause it is awfully warm outside.
