    Update on Jared Fisher (Guitar25)

Sunday - doctors took the breathing tube out of his mouth and installed a trach - he is now breathing over the ventilator often.

Monday - doctors put his head in a halo - which stabilizes the neck.

Monday PM - doctors discovered Jared had a staff infection in the blood - this is a serious condition.

Tuesday - Potassium levels in the blood getting dangerously high - Jared is undergoing kidney dialysis.

Neurosurgeon states that Jared's head and neck look good - but that he has a lot of serious problems.

Please continue to pray that God's will is done in Jared's life - and that God would safely bring him through these latest complications.

Please continue to pray for Jared's mother (my sister) - Joy - that God will give her peace that Jared is in His hands - and that there is no safer place to be than in the Father's Hands.

    Thank you,
    Dan

    Good Morning Everyone!

What a wonderful sunrise. :D To bad ya'll are missing it. This one comes courtesy of T's boss who decided he needed to be in a meeting at 7:30 this morning. I keep telling myself that he'll be up for retirement in 3 years and I should enjoy this time! :D

Okay, breakfast. Hmmmm, what do we have? Looks like the ingredients for Strawberry Delight Muffins(the delight comes from the fact that I'm cooking them and you don't have too!). Eggs, bacon. I can stir together some bisquits and make some gravy. That suit ya'll?

I'm going to try to find the library today. It is hidden under a layer of dust and cobwebs and I'm hoping there isn't a huge spider out there waiting to jump on me. We had one that was living under the living room furniture. LOL! It crawled out on T late one night and he smacked at it out of reflex and then could figure out where he had thrown it, despite tearing out all the cushions and turning over the couch! Then about a week later it crawled out on Cade and he did the same thing and we still couldn't find the stupid spider! The exterminator has come since then and sprayed but I still haven't found a body. So it has to be in the library.

Cleaning the library, floor to ceiling, and rearranging the furniture out there (again), it the first step in belated spring cleaning. I figure one room every two or three days and the house will be back in order in about a month, if I decide to tear apart the kid's rooms too.

Normally I would start with the attic and garage (all the stuff from the house has to go somewhere!), but it is way to hot to clean those. The house has gotten so disorganized that I may lose what is left of my mind if I don't do something to it, so I'm not going to wait until it is cooler to start.

    Ya'll have a good day!

Adding a prayer for Jared. Dan snuck in just ahead of me. Watch out for the flour on the floor Dan!

    Good morning all,
MK: Breakfast sounds wonderful, I'm going to have to eat mine on the run though. I slept a little later than I should and need to get ready for work. :sleeping_2:

Thank you for this update on Jared, Dan. I have his name written on a post-it note on my monitor so I can pray for him (and others) often ...

It sure is quiet in here . . .

I didn't have a chemo treatment yesterday because my platelet count was too low. Will go again Sept 12.

    Good evening all,
It is quiet in here. Sounds like my house will in about 20 minutes when my sis and her hubby and the kiddos leave. Speaking of which, I had better go check on the kiddos playing outside.

    Evening all,

I am still nursing my eye, but the pain has almost subsided completely. It looks, however, like I have pink eye along with a bruised eyeball!?!

I am still painting inside, plus working on the corner twice a day, plus Brent and I started our paper route Tuesday.

Other than those activities and laundry, dishes, cooking, and cleaning...I've had a dull week. LOL

I have decided there will be no 'labor' on Labor Day this year. I am making a picnic lunch and Dale, Brent, and I will go fishing. Actually, Dale and Brent will go fishing. I will take my lounge chair, sit in the shade and read a good book or nap (if possible).

    Pleasant dreams all!

Right on, he does have a good set of lungs, and poor mama, who decided to go by the book, runs each time. She has finally decided that the old folks might know something about children after all...She has invited us to take the baby for a day so she can rest all by herself...

Remember the old saying about how much dad learned between the son's 16th and 21st birthdays?

The lad does have some health issues, but the medical people say nothing to trouble over and he should outgrow them.

He is ok with me, and I even took him to coffee break in the village. No coffee, but I didn't hesitate to show him off,,lol...Am I entitled to a little pride?

Thanks for the compliments. He is a grand grandson in my estimation.

    Cheers,

    Jim

He's growing already, Jim! Very cute!

    Good morning all,

I am getting ready to roll the papers and deliver them, but thought I'd pop in here for a few minutes.

Brent will be working on soffets and fascia boards this morning while I fry chicken and make macaroni salad. Right before noon, we will go to our favorite fishing hole and eat and fish the afternoon away. We are also having chips, cookies, and watermelon.

Y'all have a great Labor Day and don't 'labor' too hard...

    Good evening all,
    Jim: Tanner is very handsome!
Let's see for labor day I got to get up early and drive two hours to sit for two and a half hours of work. I'm can't gripe-I get a day off whenever I need it paid for working today, but I sure would've liked to sleep in. It is trying to storm here-we need the rain and I am glad that it didn't storm while I was on the road. Well, I had better go, mom isn't doing too good today and needs some help getting started on supper. It is quiet here and if y'all want pancakes and bacon for supper help yourselves!
Y'all have a good day tommorrow.

    Good Morning Everybody,

I'm Back! What are your other two wishes? [Sorry, I couldn't resist. ]

It is 61 and partly sunny here, headed for a high of 84.

Sue: I am so sorry about your eye injury. A scratched cornea is no joke, and you won't hear any from me about it either. Just glad to hear that after the injury you're subbing on the corner, and not sobbing on the corner.

Dan: That's fantastic news about Jared's improvement.

Gayla: Hope you can resume your chemo schedule soon.

I see that my Cuz made sure that nobody in the CGCH starved while I was gone. Great job Cindi! :applause:

Camping was nice, but it's good to be home. I was as useless as a teddy bear's tail at the campground. Fortunately there was plenty of help. Going camping again at the end of the month for a Fall Festival[ only 3 days this time.]

Today was the first day of school, and it is sooo quiet here right now I can hear myself think[ yes, it is a funny sound. :tongue3: ]

I'm a little rushed this morning, but I brought in
Pancakes, Eggs, Sausage and Biscuits. Please pretend to enjoy it as much as you do my Cuz's cooking.

    Good Morning Everybody,

It is sunny and 70 degrees here, forecast is for sunny skies and 80 degrees.

Ouch!, I did some cooking yesterday and I think I might have overdone it a bit.
I've been wanting to find a way to say thank you to my Grandkids teachers for all they do. Seems like all you hear about educators is complaints, and I'm tired of that.
I contacted my Gkids new teachers for the year[6-total] and asked them if I could make their dinner for them on the first day of school. The first day is hectic for everybody, teachers included. I just offered to make their dinner for them so, at least for the first day, they wouldn't have to try and work it into their already packed schedules. Fortunately they accepted my offer.

I made Rosemary Roasted Chicken and Potatoes with a Basil & Tomato Salad and dropped all six dinners off at the school for the teachers to take home.

I'm not like a lot of folks here on the BB who have multiple gifts and the ability to always use them effectively. I can, however; make a meal. It's just a small gesture of thanks to people who do so much and get little, if any, recognition for their dedication.

My ribs are hurting a bit more today, but I can either sit and whine and cry or do what I can do. There is an old saying that is so true: You can always tell a German...You just can't tell him much!

I brought in some fresh fruit, and some Banana Bread. Enjoy.

Nope, today was the regularly scheduled no treatment week.
Got two weeks off this time.
