    FREE FOOD AND DRINKS...GOOD FELLOWSHIP!

I will try to be here to serve you; but if not, feel free to help yourself.

First one in every morning puts the coffee on, last one out at night turns the lights off...

We serve donuts, cinnamon toast (dry toast available upon request), crumpets, bagels, scones, croissants, brioche rolls, yogurt, salads, light lunches, popsicles, ice cream, homemade cookies and homemade pies, and homemade jams.

We also serve coffee (with caffeine and without), hot chocolate, hot tea, iced tea, fresh squeezed lemondade and orange juice, cappucino, Mountain Dew, DP, DDP, Coke, Pepsi, Diet Sierra Mist, milk, milk shakes and Kool-Aid.

If you don't see your drink or food of choice...just ask, we will do our best to stock it for you!

Our aim is to please...come and sit a spell, enjoy the fellowship and come back often! As Christians, we are all on common ground...

That is GREAT news, Dr. Bob! Is your foot sore tonight tho? Hope not!

Sue, how was the revival? Our church is having a concert for the youth tonight. Not my cup of tea so I won't attend.

Diane; The revival was good and I'm glad I got to hear this man preach because hubby and I have both been sick all last night and today so I didn't get to hear him this morning. :(

I'll take any of that warm weather you folks are trying to discard, thank you very much.

We came close to a frost this morning. I was too close.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Enjoying doing NOTHING this afternoon, but bask in the joy of NFL Football. But even with foot elevated, it is swollen and painful.

If I make it to the Grandparent's Day Service tonight at 6 pm I will probably wear slippers. Kid you not! Have a nice pair of Moc's with a hard rubber sole but soft leather. No pressure on those toes.

We shall see. (And see how the Oakland/Tennessee game is doing, too)

    Good evening, everybody!!!

What an absolutely AWESOME day we had at church today!! We have been renovating our worship center this summer. While the renovation was going on, we were meeting in the gym. Today was the first day back in our worship center and it is just incredible what God has done!!! Bright walls, new pews, carpet, stage, sound and lighting system...just awesome!

We began 3 worship services this morning also. (We previously had two.) Jim, I saw your comment earlier about not wanting split services, however we had to do it because we are having more people than our worship center will hold!! I would say that's a great problem to have, wouldn't you? Between the 3 services this morning, we had about 1800 people!!! Praise the Lord!!

We began 40 Days of Purpose this morning, and I am trying to hold off reading the first chapter of the book until in the morning! (I may "fudge" and read it tonight, though...and AGAIN in the morning!)

Tonight, our choir and orchestra presented "High Praises". It was just beautiful! Took full advantage of our new sound system, and the new staging for the choir and orchestra. A couple of the songs were so moving, everybody just spontaneously stood and sang along with them. Wow. I was smiling, clapping, and bawling at the same time...God is SO GOOD!!!

We baptized 3 people at one of the services this morning, and one tonight. We are baptizing 6 people (so far) next week! So, tonight, all I can say is I am so full of love and awe at the majesty of the God of the Universe, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

I see though, that Diane played "hookie" from church tonite!!! We're gonna have to report her to proper authorities--how many "skips" are you allowed before you go on report, Diane!!??

Blackbird - some of these baptists take that once-saved-always-saved bit to an extreme and feel like they can just skip church for the least little thing - broken bones, flu, baby's sick. For shame.

They need some preachin on "Not forsaking the assembling of yourself together."

Everyone knows that in the Greek that means "When the doors of the church are open, you homies had better be there."

    Good Morning All!

I went to bed when the update started last night so I didn't get to wish everyone pleasant dreams. :( I hope everyone had a restful night anyway!

I have some work to do today, but I'm not gonna start this early! Since everyone else is still [IMG] I will take a cruise around the board.

Hmmm, wonder where Sheila is. I see she put the coffee on for us.

We'll see what Diane has to say for herself--skippin' out(or was it wimpin') on the music portion of the church service! Every music concert we have ever hosted here at my church--the guest singers always give the preacher a "complimentary" CD of their new release!!--Now, Blackbird begs to question---is it worth it all just to get his hands on a bargain CD??

If she would hang around the merchandise table the groups set up in the church foyer long enough--she can get a holt of the latest T-shirt or a CD--the lead singer will give her that option! Then the next thing we'll notice on the board is a new picture of Diane---hair colored purple, the latest temporary tatoo and earring's up and down the ear from her jawbone to the "thinkin'" line!!!!!! :D

Not to mention posting in the form of "Rap!"

Ah.... I see Blackbird's keeping score! LOL Well, yep, I skipped the last 3 Sunday nights! Last night was some youth rock band that was scheduled way back before we got a new youth minister, the week before was a talent show (they call it a singing but it's mostly 4 year olds and teens and not all 'religious music'. The week before that was an annual city wide choir sing at the Methodist church! No preaching for 3 Sunday nights. Honestly, I hope they find us a preacher real soon! The last two Sunday mornings have been a college boy who converted from Islam and an associational director of something. It's fine but I like good ole preachin! Some people are just fine with no preaching but NOT ME!

    Purple hair, tatto's, earring's galore .... I don't THINK so! [IMG]

But the sun it is a shining
And it's startin' up to warmin'

That's the best I can do at rappin
So there's no need to be clappin'

Did I say good mornin' to all?

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Good Morning Jim!

WOW! I didn't know you were a 'rapper'! You did GOOD! Can you breakdance too? ;)

I must get off of here and wash my laundry and get it hung outside on the line to dry.

I once had a bunch of kids in VBS--a long, long time ago--we were studying the ten commands and they did a rap to it---mind you, I was either lost as a billy goat or was backsliding at the time even to let them hint around to do it--it went something like this:

Well, the ten commandments are here to stay
They're black and white in a world of gray

for the life of me I don't remember how the rest went---I'm a lot like Ninety nine--my file cabinet is jammed packed with used sermons and scratch paper used to write stuff on---I'm sure that if I went through some of it--I could find the rest of that rap---but that would mean that Sue and Diane would only be itchin' to ditchin' the likes of me and ole Ninety-nine---for coming too close to being and sounding liberal!!!

Your Southern Baptist preachin', not good at rappin' buddy,
    Blackbird
