The only thing I would break if I went to dancing, would be my leg.

Rapping is not for me, either, Blackbird....and the liberal label doesn't bother me anymore. I have been called liberal so many times I am used to it.

The Lord knows who I am and isn't that all that really matters?

Good that the kids had the incentive to do something creative. At least they were interested.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Right you are Ninety nine!

I had to let them put the "um-poppa, um-poppa, zim-pow-pow" in the words---it was silly!! I'm thinkin' about sending Diane and Sue a CD release of it---but they'll only have a "record burnin'" like the bible thumpers did back in the sixties!! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Your buddy,

    Well for me -

Give me a bass that can sing off the low end of the key board,

And a tenor that can sing sky high,

A powerful lead - that knows how to sing,

A baritone that blends in nicely,

A piano player that make the keyboard sing,

    And I'll be happy.

Gold City or the Gaither Vocal Band will do just nice.

Then for a change of pace - the Crabb Family or the Isaacs a singin blue grass and down home southern style,

    And I'll be in heaven.

Bill Gaither has been around for a long time. I remember him when he had a radio program in Chicago, working out of Moody Bible Institute. He has written and produced a lot of sound gospel music. I'm with you, Dan.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Good morning everyone.
Are we having a music festival or something. I think I missed something.
Church picnic was good, the river was up and running fast becasue of the rain we had last week, it wasn't hot at all, very comfortable, lots of mosquites, not as many peopls came as usually do, and it got chilly by the time left at dusk, which calmed down the mosquites. My husband was disappointed that no one played horse shoes, a lot of the older people didn't come this year, it's the older men who are usully in to the horse shoes. But we had a great time singing.
LOL, you know I don't type well and have a lot of typos, LOL, I almost worte instead of singing, sining LOL, yes we all had a great time sining down buy the river. LOL

There's a real short clip of the song on that page. It's Hip Hop Hymns by the Brentwood Kids.

If I eat equal amounts of dark and white chocolate, is that a balanced diet?

Love the old Bill Gaither stuff. Modern stuff, especially the old drunk-looking guy with the gray beard and long stringy hair, is mostly rock and not Gospel.

AND I WAS TOLD YOU CAN'T TRUST MINISTERS WITH "BG" AS INITIALS
    Bill Gaither controversy over music
    Bill Gothard controversy over counseling

    Hello Everyone,

How are you all today? I hope you are all ok.

We have had computer problems. Have not been able to access the net since yesterday evening. It is at last sorted now. Just hope the comp behaves itself.

Dr. Bob, I saw that you were able to walk to Church. That is great, what an acheivement. That really is an answer to prayer.

Will be back later, got some catching up to do,

    Blessings

    Donna Asked:
No Donna! That is NOT a balanced diet! You MUST have some milk chocolate for your dairy intake. You should know better than that! LOL

Now there is the bloke I was thinking about. He is still on radio, a program called Night Lines or something like that. He plays a horn, and his voice sounds like death warmed over as he drolls out his message. I get him each night on the Christian radio here.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Now you are singing, Dan Todd!! Gold City, Archie Watkins and the Inspirations, Legacy Five, the now retired Cathedrals--my kind of music!! Could listen to them all day and then be ready to preach all day after that---or maybe I got that wrong---I'm ready to preach all day weather I've heard them or not!! [IMG] [IMG]

And Blackbird has overheard a nasty rumor--that DonnA is movin' to Hershey, PA!!! Seems her husband is tellin' her to cut down on the gasoline expense to the grocery store for chocolate--and that's the only way she knows to do it!! [IMG] [IMG]

Your Southern Baptist preachin', Southern Gospel listenin'(and every now and then singin') buddy,
    Blackbird

    Jim,

Are you thinking about "Nightsounds" with Bill Pierce - as I remember - he plays the trombone!!

Jan can't stand to listen to him.

    Blackbird -

You have great taste in music - you have even a better philosophy in preaching.

    Your Northern Buddy
    Dan

Hi all! Just poppin' in for a few minutes. I have my laundry on the line, but I still have some flowers to repot (my daughter brings them to me after she kills them) and a meatloaf to make for supper.

Jim, Dan, blackbird: I am listening to The Cathedrals Super Hits on my CD right now. I like Gold City, Florida Boys, Gaither Band, Statler Brothers, The Kingsmen.....can't remember them all. I love the old gospel quartets.

Donna, Diane, Sheila: You've got your 'eating style' all wrong! A balanced diet is the same amount of cookies in each hand! :D

    Gotta run.......TTFN!

    Dan,
That's the fellow. I knew I had the wrong name after I typed it...Gothard is a Pentecostal type preacher, I think.

    Thanks,
