    Hello Everybody!

    And welcome Steve and Paul!:wavey:

We're still here. Not much goes on around here. I'll have a chemo teatment tomorrow morning, and a bone scan Thursday.
My hair is turning loose alot more than expected. But my reaction to this chemo (usually a "mild" one:rolleyes: ) has been more than expected. It is doing the job though.

    :wavey:

    Good morning everyone!

SUE - I agree with everyone that the house looks FANTASTIC!! Isn't it fun to see a pretty house? There's just something so good about that. LOL!

Welcome STEVE and PAUL! I hope you enjoy our little fellowship here!

So - I had my physical yesterday. Something showed up on the EKG so in 2 weeks I have to have a stress test. Dr. doesn't think it's anything - could be even the lead was set up wrong - but he wants to check it out anyway. My blood pressure is awesome he said and for my age (42) nothing should be wrong. So we'll see. The only other thing we have to wait for is the blood work because there's a chance I have either rheumatoid arthritis or lupus because of something that's been happening with my eye. So, I'm curious to see what's going on.

The other 'issue' going on in my home is boys. Specifically a nice college boy who's interested in my sophomore daughter. He's a wonderful boy with a heart for the Lord but he likes her and she likes him. We spoke to her the other night and told her she's going to have to wait to date - she's only 15 and we think that's too young - and Bob will speak to the boy soon to let him know too (he's kind of making him wait a bit). I can't believe we're dealing with this with her already. I knew we would - but I kind of figured we'd deal with it with Lauren (my 17 year old) first but nope - it's Nicole. Pray for wisdom for Bob and I and pray that this boy and Nicole will be praying and seeking God's will for their relationship. I wouldn't mind him being a son-in-law ..... in about 5 years. LOL! But that's a long time to wait....

    Oh Ann!

That reminds me of my eldest daughter who was dating an absolutely wonderful young man for several years in high school. I thought he was terrific. He went a couple of hundred miles away to college and during one of their phone conversations I heard my daughter get really angry with him. She got off the phone, stamping out of the room, declaring, "He's so IMMATURE!"

She is married to someone else now, and they have been married for five years! You never know what's going to happen. God be with all of you!

Early morning here and I'm postponing going out to feed the horses just because I feel lazy. It's chilly and there's a heater at my feet and this nice hot cuppa tea and....

One of my siblings sent me an email with a picture of us four when we were quite small, sitting on the hearth in our old home. My brother was only about nine or ten months old in the picture, so I would have been about five. I'm the one patting the dog....prophecies anyone?

God bless you all. I'll be back here more now the harvest is about in. But we have a speaking thingy in southern Calif. first weekend in Oct. so we have to get our presentations ready. That will take some time. Also, with the Christmas Star DVD finished, I have requested a soundtrack so I can do closed captioning in simple English for my deaf friends. That is going to take quite a bit of time.

But I've missed being here, so I'll be popping in when I can. Have a lovely day.

Oh - Helen - I meant to respond to your info on the new horse! I wanna see pics!! LOL! I'd so be doing what you are if I could. There was an ADORABLE little filly who was just 20 months old that was sent to camp this year as a riding lesson horse. Yep - she was actually broke! She was the SWEETEST thing in the world and I would have taken her in a heartbeat if I could have. Unfortunately, I can't have horses here at my place and the closest barn is $1000 a month for full board - or I can go to "our" barn for $250 a month plus all feed, shavings, hay and I would have to be there 2X a day to do all the work. I just dont' have the time for that at this point in my life. But she was a DOLL!!

So, I wanna see pics of the new babe! LOL!

Barry finally got a decent digital camera. Our last one retired itself for unknown reasons...

The folks could not bring her Sunday, so she will arrive next weekend. At that time I will ask Barry to take pictures of all the beasts and we'll put them on my section of our website. There's a picture of me taken recently and I would replace the BB picture of me (taken seven years ago) if I knew how. But I'm very computer illiterate in more ways than I care to acknowledge...

The picture is here, and it is in this section I will put the pictures:

    God bless.

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

We're still at the hospital. My MIL is having some confusion and dis-orientation. We're not sure if it's a med reaction, or if she is having small strokes.

It looks like we'll be here all night, or untill she improves. Please pray for her improvement and recovery.

Wouldn't you know it, when I'm not here for a couple of days my Cuz brings in abreakfast that's to die for. I guess they're right about Murphy's Law: Murphy was an optimist.

I'm using a computer at the hospital, so I better get back to my MIL's room.

Will try to check in sometime.

    Good early, early morning all,

Yes, I am way up past my bedtime and yes I have to get up at 6:30 because I have to get Brent off to school, then I have to sub on the corner.

Y'all probably won't see me until tomorrow evening, 'cause I'm gonna take a nap sometime tomorrow between delivering papers and working the corner and making supper and church!

    Pleasant dreams all!

    Good morning all:

It's been heating up here. The air conditioner was on off and on all evening and into this early morning. It's been about 45 minutes since it went off this last time. It's now 6:45 AM. It's supposed to be reaching far into the 80's or possibly into the lower 90's and stay that way all this week. The creeks are once again dry and the birds are eating anything and everything they can find. Most of the crops are down now.

Please, if you think about it or have a minute or two, say a short prayer for my wife. She's becoming very exhausted lately with the company's combination of jobs to close out positions. She's a trooper and says little about it. But, she's been passed over for five or six promotions or lateral moves in the last few weeks, some making a bit more money than she's making now. Today she'll find out if she's been passed over for another one or got it and has to start working 2nd shift. It's discouraging to see those who don't work get promoted when one does EVERYTHING the company asks and more. She's almost ready to put the house up for sale and move back home to Augusta. For me, that would be fine, though it might not be the best thing to do right now. We know the Lord is in charge of it all. We're just worn down from the wait. As the song says "The waiting is the hardest part".

Hope all here are having a great time! I'll check in as often as I can. Right now it might not be that often.

Sue, the house looks great! I hope to get to see it in person if we come up to Illinois in January or February to see my Mom, sister and neices and my brother Mike and his wife and daughters.

    Blessings.

    Bro. T

Thanks, Ann -- a lot of freckles and no gray hair genes do make one look younger! Now, if the REST of my body would just cooperate....

Friend of God -- please keep in touch. Your mother-in-law and all of you are in our prayers.

Sue -- a nap? Seems like you should be sleeping ALL day, lady!

Bro. T -- have prayed for you and your wife, for your wisdom and well-being and that God is glorified in your lives.

Still dark here but my awakeness has started so that's it for bed! Got the laundry in and some of the desk straightened up. Have a little bookwork to catch up on, but nothing major.

We are almost keeping up with stuff. That scares me. What is it we are forgetting? It must be SOMETHING -- there is so much to do we are always a little behind

Bible study here tonight. It's raining gently outside now, so I don't have to water anything. Thank you, Lord! Barry and I got a lot of the DG (decomposed granite -- sort of like rough sand but it packs down well for pathways and such) moved yesterday. There are some areas out in the horse area that are low and collect major puddles during the winter. So we are attempting to be a little pro-active this year and fix the problem before it starts again. The light rain right now is perfect for helping pack the stuff. Horse hooves (hoofs?) will do the rest -- especially if the horses are walking on them....

    ohhhh, I'm sorry....

Ann, you mentioned you would like to live this kind of life. We really do love it, but it is also a lot of work. It's work we love, so that makes it worthwhile, but if someone didn't really love the animals and gardening and such it would be a royal pain in the neck (and a few other places, too, I'm sure!). Yesterday we had our noon meal (our big meal is in the middle of the day) out on the back patio watching the butterflies and birds and flowers on one of the most perfect autumn days I have ever seen. Clear, crisp in the shade, warmer in the sun, the last of the geese heading south overhead, hummers at the feeders, everything still green and blossoming....it's one of those memories you never want to lose.

Today -- desk, clean house for tonight, errands downtown (few), bank deposit, animals....a light day, I think, unless God has a surprise waiting down the track.

    God bless you all.

Helen - If I could stop the world and get off - and get a farm with animals and just keep my kids home, I'd do it in a heartbeat. When we go on our sailing vacations, I see these small islands with just one family living on them and I think "I'd LOVE that - it would be hard work but a much simpler life." Oh well - instead I live in suburbia with the craziness of life. Atleast I still am around horses - I'd be a wreck if I couldn't be around them. They make life happy for me. :D

Not much going on today. I'm getting my hair cut later, and we've got homeschooling to finish. Bob and I will be going out to dinner tonight at the yacht club to try to use up our minimum (since he's going to be away next weekend on the men's retreat) - hope there's no raccoons tonight! ;)

    Have a wonderful day everyone!!

    Good morning again!

I finally got to sleep around 3:00 this morning and got up at 6:30.

Bro Tony: Will be praying for Viv and let me know when you're coming to see me and I will prepare a feast for you!

Helen: It looks like no nap at all today. I worked my corner this morning, after getting Brent's lunch fixed and him off to school.

I have dishes soaking in the sink, clothes in both the washer and dryer that have to be folded and put away.

School gets out early today (1:45) and that's usually when I take my nap. When I get back from the corner at 2:15, it will be time to fold and band the papers. We deliver them when Brent gets home about 3:15.

Then, of course, there is supper and church...

Methinks I will sleep good tonight! But until then, I will be [IMG].

    HAGD all!

Just a note for clarification: The fellow that gave us the great deal on materials was the man I hired to replace me when I left the building supplies industry and went full-time into the ministry. He worked under me for about a year before I left. I guess I trained him right.
He and I are still great friends to this day.

    Good Morning All!

Well, sorta good morning. I woke up to a sick house. Cass has a major migraine that she is trying to work through so she can make it to biology class. Chris seems to have caught the virus that Jenna had on Friday. Jenna seems to have caught something new entirely to infect the house with. Poor thing is all congested and says it hurts to breath. No fever though, so we are going to medicate today and if I can't get it to loosen up, I'll take her back to the doc tomorrow.

So, I'm going to spend the day with chores and lysol. Tonight we are supposed to get our new karate belts so I'm hoping everyone is improved enough to make it. It'll only take an hour or so. After that, I'm escaping the sick house long enough to go to choir practice.

    Ya'll have a good day!

After all, the few days you were here, you taught Brent how to do it and he has done an outstanding (almost unbelievable) job finishing it!

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

Just a quick update: It appears that my MIL's confusion was caused by some meds she was given before her heart cath. She had one test this morning that proved negative, and will have a scope of her throat and stomach tomorrow. If that comes back okay she shouls be good to go home tomorrow.

Seems like we're getting to know this hospital pretty well since we've been here.

Glad to see everything is okay with everybody.

ANN: If raccoon is on the menu tonight I would recommend Stir-Fry.

Not much else going on here. Sure is a great time for Bible Study though.

I'll try to check in when I can.

    Hi,

Made it through the treatment this morning. No upchucking. Yeah!!!!!!!!!
Right now I've got a headache, but it's from the anti-nausea med.
Need food, too, but when I'm feeling this way, it is hard to find something appetizing.

    I'll quit whining now.
    Y'all have a good evening!!!:wavey:

Gayla, what DO you like to eat normally? Not what 'sounds' good, but what is it that you like when you are not feeling like this?

Cuz: what do Ya'll think the meat in the spaghetti sauce is?

My MIL is very confused tonight. Brenda and I had gone down to get something to eat at the cafeteria and she woke up didn't know where she was and got out of bed and went looking for Brenda. She walked into the next room and was calling the patient in that room "Brenda" when the Nurse took her back to her room. When we got back on the floor the Nurse told us what happened, and when we asked my MIL she said she'd never been out of bed. I think there is more to this then reaction to meds. We were told that she was confused at our local Hospital before we came here for the heart cath[ nice to find that out now.] So the confusion was apparent at the local hospital. I'm thinking either she's had a stroke, or the heart problem that was corrected by the stent perhaps caused some brain damage perhaps by a lack of oxygen.

We decided to stay the night at the hospital because it is a 100 mile round trip if we go home, and my MIL seems to react better to Brenda when she is confused. I think our problems are only just beginning.

I'll take my whine and go back to the family waiting room now.

It's been a long day, and it's going to be a long night too.
