Next time, Cuz, I'll be sure I do the grocery shopping!

    Good Morning Everyone!

Someone left this crazy sausage in the fridge here. Smells like liver, but I'm guessing they want it cooked up for breakfast. Ummmm, I don't think I know how. :D I think I'll stick with what I had planned. There is fresh orange juice in the fridge. The coffee is hot. There are several varieties of muffins on the counter including Apple Spice, Lemon Poppy Seed, Strawberry and Blueberry. There are also some plain ones if'n anyone wants to eat them with butter and jam. In the oven is a nice breakfast casserole made from hashbrowns, sausage (not the stuff in the fridge!) and eggs. It's best while it's hot, but warms nicely in the microwave if you don't get in here til lunchtime. Ya'll enjoy!

Today is sheet changing, laundry sorting and sewing at the church. I'm in a really good mood today (not that I'm usually in a bad mood, but this is an especially good mood) so I expect to get quite a bit accomplished. I like days like this. :)

    Ya'll have a good Thursday!

Morning all! I'm SO tired this morning! Dinner last night was very nice - no raccoons BUT it seems that each time we go to pasta night, Bob's stomach doesn't do well with whatever he gets. Actually, it's not his stomach but his lower digestive system. He went to bed before I did (I'm sorry about talking about this but ....), and when I went down to go to bed it was like a toxic waste dump! It was so bad that I slept in the living room. That's the last time we go to pasta night. I have NO clue what it is but it's happened each time although last night was most certainly the worst. HE thought it was quite funny when I was so cranky this morning..... Again, sorry for the TMI but I wanted to explain why I drained the coffee pot. ;)

Today will be just homeschooling, some chores, a few phone calls and then riding this afternoon. Tonight will be a nice quiet night at home so I'm looking forward to that.

ok...adjusting to J being on night shift and my having to do the "bed time thing" by myself is taking more out of me than i thought. really, the kids have been good...but i am having a hard time going to sleep. and i seem to be waking up when he comes in at 4am...having a very hard time getting my body to understand that i still have a few more hours to sleep yet!

i don't think being out late tuesday night and wednesday night helped anything.

=( i didn't get to go sew at the church like i wanted....grrr...i was just too tired.

the plans for today....laundry, school work for the kids & that is about it.

hope you all have a good day!

It is 64 and sunny here headed for a high of 86 today.

My MIL is home and still very confused. Further test are scheduled to find the problem. One of us is staying with her 24/7. I took the night shift since I've worked 11-7 before and it'll be easier for me to get back into then anybody else.

The hospital and staff were great. We couldn't have asked for anything better, but it is so good to be home.

I want to thank everybody for their prayers and support. You'll never know how much they mean to me.

Today I have to go grocery shopping and get ready to be at my MIL's from 9p-9a tonight.

    Good morning all,
I have been really busy lately and the internet connection has been acting up so much that even trying to check email has been impossible. I brought in biscuits and gravy with some bacon and sausage. There is jelly and fresh fruit in the fridge. Y'all help yourselves. Today is rather busy. I am going to get something done with my hair-go to soccer games and the paint store. My sis should be finished with her house in a couple of weeks and that means that I get to start painting here!
Please keep my oldest nephew in your prayers. He has a broken pinky on one hand and the thumb is broken on the other. He is getting down because his soccer season starts today and he is on a no soccer restriction for the next four weeks!
    Sue- The house looks good!
Rob- You and your family are in my prayers. My grandmother went through something similar. Come to find out it was a reaction to several of the medications that she was taking.
Well, y'all have a blessed weekend. I need to get to town because when I get home I need to get the yard and alot of cleaning done!

Hello to all and Happy Autumn to those in the northern hemisphere and a Joyous Spring to those in the southern hemisphere!

    Gorgeous weather here, too.

GAYLA, you still haven't answered my question about your favorite foods...

JIM, glad you're still with us. Sorry about the tractor parts cost! That is a bear!

FoG, did you make it through the night OK? You've got a tough situation there and God bless you.

PALAGISLANDGIRL -- how did your nephew break digits on BOTH hands? Poor fellow! Learning patience is so hard....

New pony should arrive today. She is about 20, bad leg and/or hip, and almost blind in one eye. We have a wonderful handyman our vet recommended to us who is going to build and extra pen inside the barn so one of the minis can have that when it rains and the new pony will have a stall without anyone challenging her for the space. Horses often do that, and will force the 'lesser' out in the rain. That may be OK for the young, healthy animals, but that's not what we have here. At any rate, that will take up every bit of available space in the horse barn!

Barry slept most of the day yesterday. Not feeling well, but went out to the observatory last night because it was a 'star party' night and the public is invited to those. He said about ten showed up, a little less than normal, but a good number to work with when you have a telescope that only one can view through at a time! It is hooked up to computers, though, so all can view at once in another room. Still, that's not quite as much fun as looking through the telescope itself.

I spent the afternoon and evening separating seed/eating dried beans from the dried up pods and watching a lot of junk TV in the meantime. I've never grown so many beans before and the task took about 6 hours! But I set aside about 140 perfect beans for next year's seeds and the rest are now in a storage jar for soups this winter. The early beans -- the green snap beans -- grew in such large quantities they take up one entire section in the freezer. Unbelieveable year for food!

Got a 30 lb squash cut in half and half baked yesterday then cooled and cut and frozen in ziplocs and the other half baked and it's waiting in the oven now to be processed. These are banana squashes and for me that is a comfort food -- they are so good tasting with butter and salt....

Tried one for a 'pumpkin pie', too, and it makes the pie taste much richer. Folks at the Bible study loved it! Doesn't take as much sugar as a pumpkin, either. So we may be on to something here.

That's enough. Time to go out and feed the beasties. God bless you all.

    Good Morning Everybody,

I made it through the night. It wasn't as hard as I thought it'd be. Spent a lot of time in Bible Study, and did 15-min checks on my MIL. She did fine[I don't think she moved all night-LOL!] It does seem that the confusion seems to not as pronounced, perhaps because she's in familar surroundings.Too early to tell but if she continues to improve, perhaps the 24/7 won't have to continue for long.

Thanks everybody for your thoughts and prayers. I'm not really doing that much really. Just so my MIL is safe and able to recover without fearing anything.

I brought in Pulled-Pork Sandwiches, Banana Pepper Slaw, and Homemade Rice Pudding for dessert.

Now I'm going to crash for a few hours before I have to go back to my MIL's.

Disclaimer: No. They aren't doing any logging near the CGCH. That is just me taking a nap.

G'morning! Oh, my. It's pretty much afternoon already, isn't it?

Beautiful fall day today. The aspen's are turning and the air is crisp and smells of wet bark, woodsmoke and apples.

Was chase by a dog during my run this morning. So much for serenity and enjoying God's creation when you have a wiener dog nipping at your heels. I had to stop and sternly tell him to go home. And he did!

    God love 'em. :D

    Hey all,
Helen- He fell on his thumb during a scrimmage and bent it back. I am not sure about the pinky though I haven't gotten the whole story on it. I think it has something to do with a soccer ball and horsing around with some friends. He was a little better tonight. His sis's team won their first game together 7-0 and his team won the first 10-2 and 2-0! He seemed in a little better spirits even though he didn't play when we heard from him tonight. Time for me to go, I need to get to bed. I took a long nap this afternoon and I am going to pay for it now-but I do feel better so it's been worth it.
    Happy fall!!!!!!!!!!!

    Blessed Sunday Everyone!

I'm not cooking this morning since a nasty upper respiratory virus is making it's way through the menagerie. Started with Jenna last week, now T and I both have it. I was worse yesterday, without much sympathy I might add, T is worse today. The upper respiratory stuff wouldn't be so bad but the body aches are killers! I hurt literally from head to toe yesterday (weird feeling to have your toes ache) I'm hoping Cass and Chris won't catch it, though Chris may already have had it. There were a couple of days last week when he wasn't feeling well. He didn't complain of body aches though. For that matter, neither did Jenna! Maybe only us adults get to ache!

I now have two black belts in my family. Jenna earned her black belt at testing last Saturday. Chris failed to break one of his boards and had to retest yesterday. They get three tries to break. Friday night, Chris broke 7 out of 8 boards. Yesterday, he missed on the first try. Almost broke on his second. I was biting nails at this point. Third try, he went straight through it. Yay!!!! I asked him after if he was just trying to build suspense for us watching and he grinned and said that he'd accept that explanation.

Of course, we're home from church this morning. We'll probably rest for most of the day. Chris has Cade over and sometime today they will switch houses as it is Cade's birthday this weekend and there is cake to be eaten. Jenna spent last night with her friend and will be home soon. They didn't make it to church this morning either. Cassie is currently beating a video game and enjoying the peace.

Later, I need to put a tuck in a couple of pairs of Jenna's jeans that are to big in the waist. It's a chronic problem with my kids. If they are long enough and fit reasonably well in the seat, they are to big in the waist. Doesn't matter if it is jeans or pants, it always happens. Right now, Jenna is growing taller by leaps and bounds. It seems she goes to sleep at night and wakes up taller.

Ya'll have a good day of rest!

Got the new pony in an hour ago. Will take pictures later and post them. She is almost albino, and does have pink eyes and bad eyesight. Of course, when she rolls she can be brown and white, or green and white....grin...

Nasty, NASTY series of scars above her hoof, back left. She is also a 'stall horse' and prefers the stall to being out in the pasture or the sun. With her coloring that makes sense. Her name? The previous owner will try to find out her original name, for it is clear she was once highly trained. They called her "I lean" because of her bad leg! We'll either find her original name or name her something else! She is terribly sweet and loves being patted and fussed over.

Got to get ready for church, but thought I would post the news.

"I lean". That is not nice!

    Welcome to Monday, everyone. <bleck>

Sorry but I'm still not cooking. I am sooooo tired of this virus! I'm not nearly as sick as it keeps telling me I am, but everytime I try to convince my body I have something better to do than lie in bed I get a weak spell, start sneezing, or my nose runs off my face!

I'm getting up today. This house can NOT go one more day without my input. The poor guinea pigs have to get clean cages today cause I'm beginning to smell them. (my nose is not stopped up, funnily enough) I don't like smelly cages. They would also like some fresh grass, but that kind of depends on the grass drying out enough. The dew was really heavy this morning.

So, the house, homeschooling, and an emergency alteration will fill my day, virus and all!

Ya'll try to have a good Monday!

Helen - She sounds really cute! I don't blame her for wanting to be in the stall - how often do you think she got sunburned?? Names.....hmmm.....Bina (like the end of albino but with an 'a' at the end), Rosie, Blanche (LOL), Princess, ..... can't think of anymore right now. :D Can't wait to see pics.

We went to the dentist with Robby today. He had an abcess a few weeks ago and was on antibiotics for 2 weeks but it didn't clear up. It's under the first molar on the bottom and there is an adult tooth right there but the baby tooth should not come out for another 4 years. But it's coming out on Wednesday - it's the only way to stop the infection and to save that adult tooth (the infection can pass on to the adult tooth under the gum). Poor guy is scared but it needs to be done. :(

I'll be heading off to ride in a little bit - after we do some more school. Then tonight will be a quiet night at home.

Oh - a neat thing at church yesterday! A man brought 22 Chinese engineering students from Polytechnic Institute in Brooklyn yesterday - we had to send a bus - and they stayed after church for a special lunch and Q&A session with the pastors. 7 of them turned their lives to Christ (and through discipleship, we'll see if these were true decisions or just wanting to become more "Americanized" - :) ) But it was neat to see these students being open to God. We'll continue to bring them here for a little while longer then get them settled with churches that are good and closer to their own homes. Actually, if brother Barnabas is here, maybe he can help me out on this one! I'll try to PM him later and ask.

So I'll see y'all later!! Have a wonderful day!
