    Good Morning Everybody,

It is 8 degrees and sunny here, headed for a high of 20 today. Supposed to have a warm-up on Monday. Pretty sad when a warm-up is a high of 30 degrees.

This is going to be a hit-and-run post. The Gkids have an indoor carnival at school this afternoon. Just games in the gym, hot dogs & popcorn in the cafeteria, and activities in the classrooms.

I brought in Eggs, Sausage Gravy and Biscuits, Bacon, and Homemade Corned Beef Hash. Enjoy.

Prayers for Bill and his family, and praise that they all escaped unharmed.

Leah is so cute!!!! You do good work there Tanya.

So glad that your legal woes are past Jim. I guess the times where we respect anothers property as our own are past.

Going to the corner to look for Sue's toes. I think she'll want them back once the feeling returns, seems like she's grown attached to them. :tongue3:

    Good morning everyone!

Whoever sent us the snow yesterday - I appreciate it! 7" of the white stuff (which is now a little less since it lightly rained after it snowed) and it looks beautiful out. Now I feel like we had a little winter! :)

DH and my oldest are safely in DC (travel was pretty good, DH said) and they are having a wonderful time. They'll hit MacLean Bible Church tomorrow morning before they come home. The rest of the kids and I have had a relaxing day at home so far but today we'll go out to the library to get some books and a video and then I think we'll hit the grocery store for some meat that's on sale. Not sure what I'll make for dinner tonight but whatever it is, it will be kid-friendly. :)

Have a wonderful day everyone! Please keep warm!

    Hey All!

Ann, I was wondering how yours were faring. The news this morning was showing all kinds of yucky weather up your way. Are your littles ones getting to play outside?

Sue, I didn't ask for cold weather either, but we sure have gotten some! It's only about 42 outside right now. Brrr!

Just games in the gym! LOL! Cuz, you ever been to one of these things before? Think, half a million kids who have been stuck inside for the last two or three weeks because the weather's been bad, all making noise at one time. That's an indoor school carnival! (or a church fall festival) You have fun though and make sure you let us know if you survived!

Been doing the usual Saturday routine of karate, basketball and Walmart. Got supper cooking now. Chicken and dumplin's per request.

IT'S OKAY, CUZ. WE SURVIVED WITH NO PROBLEM AT ALL. Oops, sorry. Don't have to yell here. I've been to this organized madness a few times. Kind of like a roomful of sugared-up seven year olds on a sleepover, that's all.

Your dinner sure sounds good Cindi. Got room for 1 more? I'll even clear the table and do the dishes. How 'bout that?

We ended up with Country Salisbury Steak, Cheddar Biscuits, Roasted Vegetables, and Deep-dish Blueberry Pie for dessert.

BTW I found Sue's toes on the corner. They should be thawed out by now. I put them on the tray next to the finger food.

Cuz, I thought Toe-fu was off the menu due to appetite issues. :D

Glad to know you made it home with only a slight loss of hearing and volume control. Medical professionals say short exposure to high volume level is not as serious a thing as long term exposure. You should be okay again by Monday. :D

I'll give you our 42 degrees if'n I can have temps back in the 60's. You can give Ann your 8 degrees and all your snow. She's been wanting it for a while now. Then we'll all be happy!

You might change your mind about 42 if'n you had to sit through two hours of softball practice out in it, like I'll have to do tomorrow. I told Jenna I'd pull the car up to the field so I could watch and not freeze to death. Ol' Arther is trying to move in permantantly and this cold only makes the joints hurt worse. :(

A "good morning all" on the run.

I'm glad someone found my toes and thawed them out! I need them to deliver papers this morning. It is a bit warmer though...14º.

I was on the run yesterday morning from the time I did the papers until almost noon!!!

I will try to stop in later...

Good Sunday morning everyone! It's a beautiful sunny day - around 32 degrees right now. The snow is glistening and should be melting a bit more today since we'll be in the 40s. MK - Yes, the kids played out in the snow for HOURS the other day and they slept quite well that night. LOL!

I'm going to get ready for church and then after church do some cooking. I hit up a grocery store that had great prices on meat and so I have to cook or package it up for the freezer. DH should be home later tonight with my oldest and then we'll head to bed early since I know he's really tired from this conference. He also said he had a lot to process from the speakers - hope that was a good thing! LOL!

Have a great day all! Sue - you need to get those little feet warmers they sell at the sports stores. They'd keep those toes thawed enough for you to know that they're cold! LOL!

Ann: Actually, I've thought of buying Brent some battery-activated feet AND hand warmers...

He either takes his bike or walks the papers unless it's just too cold or raining, and of course, on the days he has basketball practice or a two-day 'away' tournament.

He is trying to save me gas and I sure appreciate it, but sometimes he needs a little help...especially on Sunday because the papers are so heavy, he can't get them all on his bike in one trip.

The sun is shining and it is up to 27º already, so it is turning out to be a nice day (heat wave...LOL) as nice as you can have in the middle of winter in Illinois. :)

    Good Morning Everybody,

Cuz it was Toe-jam that was banned from the kitchen because of appetite issues. [Ohhhhhh that's bad even for me!!]

It is now 23 headed for a high of 35 today. AWWWRIGHT!! Supposed to be up to 38 tomorrow. 23 now that's softball practice weather [I think I just heard a muffled scream from inside a car.] You just tell 'Ol Arthur that there's "no room at the in" as in "Cindi" that is.

We went to the early service this morning because we have some folks coming over to watch NCAA basketball and/or NASCAR [if the rain stops in CA, that is.]

Making Vidalia Onion Dip, Slow-Cooker BBQ Pork Sandwiches, and Chocolate-Peanut Butter Cream Pie to munch on while we're watching.

Unfortunately the "Auto-Chef" program for the kitchen isn't working, again, so I'm elected.

Hi all! It's been a while (not sure why!) but I'm back again. I'm sure you thought you were rid of me.

I thought I'd pop in and say hi. Would like to come back more regularly again too.

    How is everyone?

Since I've been back I have gotten engaged. :) Me and my future husband are getting married in August. :godisgood:

    Congratulation, Margo! And welcome back!

    Good morning all,

    It was 1º yesterday morning.

This morning it is 32º, heading for a high of 44º.

This afternoon, we are expecting rain.

Tonight we are expecting 4-6 inches of additional snow and fast dropping temperatures with 20-30mph winds.

Oh, please hurry and get here spring!!!

This is my day of rest and I'm going to try and take it (outside of doing laundry and cooking supper)...

I will enjoy whatever someone brings in for breakfast because I'm not cooking until this evening.

I did put the coffee and tea on though.

    Have a great day!!!

    Good Morning Everybody,

It is 23 with light snow here. We have a Winter Storm Warning for this afternoon and all day tomorrow. Weatherman says we can expect 3"-5" of snow, but I've got him fooled. I'm going to send the snow to my Cuz and Ann because they so rarely see snow. I see it all the time so it's no thrill to me. Just imagine the look on their faces [good thing I can't read lips, though.]

    Congratulations Margo!

Sounds like our Administrator needs something that'll stick to her ribs; unfortunately I don't have any itchy wool sweaters, so I'll just make
Pancakes, Eggs, Bacon & Sausage, and Sausage Gravy & Biscuits. I'll guarantee this will not only "stick-to-your-ribs" it'll pad them too!

Gave up on trying to watch NASCAR last night, wasn't too long after that NASCAR gave up too. The race is supposed to be run at 1pm today. Wish they'd keep keep their rain out there when it heads this way it turns white and gains weight.

Guess I better head to the store and get some things in case the weatherman is wrong and we get more then is predicted. We're also predicted wind gusting to 25mph so drifting is a definite possibility.

Congratulations on your engagement, Margo! :love2:

Sue, you couldn't possibly want ... NEED ... Spring more than I! :BangHead:
I have SO had it with snow and ice. Luckily, we're only expecting one inch of the white stuff this time. I can live with that, considering some of you fellas are getting pelted. BRRRRRR!

Have a great day, all ... :wavey:

All the very best to everyone. Enjoy your day.

We have plenty of snow on the ground and weatherman says more to come. It is the last week of February though and we can expect changes in March.

It's the cold that gets to me now, and it too is returning. By the way, for feet warmth, I wear alpaca socks. They are expensive, but sure help with circulation problems and I haven't had cold feet all winter; something I haven't enjoyed for many years.

Many blessings to the young lady, Margo, on her upcoming wedding.

I am reading more on the BB now, but still not contributing much, for which I apologize. Typing is very difficult these days, as is keeping my brain in working order. I let myself slide the past few months and it is slow getting back. Let's say, I am beginning to feel my age in more ways than one.

    Cheers, and God bless,

    Jim

Alpaca socks? I'll have to try those Jim! Going to the barn each day gets mighty cold on these feet and I've found that fleece socks usually do the trick for me. :)

Well, I'd be more than happy to take that snow you guys are getting. It's 45 degrees here today and the snow is fast melting. :(

I have one who came home from school today - Nicole (15) got sick at school but luckily made it to the bathroom in time. I was hoping she'd make it through the day. Oh well!

I'll see y'all later! It's back to school for us!

Got ya beat, Ann. I have two who didn't go to school at all today. 4 HOURS at the docs office (I gotta find a new doc) to find that Cass has broncitis (at least it wasn't pnuemonia) and Jenna has a sinus infection (thankfully not the flu I was expecting). Chris is feeling bad too but he said he wasn't sick enough to go to the doctor. He got his school work done so I guess he can lay around and feel bad ifn' he wants.

After all this talk of bad weather I think I'll go check out the weather report.

Well myyyy gooodness! It's noon already and this place is still as empty as I left it last night. I know ya'll are snowed in, but it's noon already. Shouldn't you at least be up???

(do I sound enough like your mothers? :D )

I did go check the weather report last night. Shock kept me from posting again. Our weather people are saying we'll have snow flurries by this evening and into tomorrow. My neighbor's forsythia is trying to bloom and the weather man is calling for temps cold enough to make it snow in Alabama! I'm tired of the cold already! My joints are already stiffening up and it's only in the 50's at present.

My how the wind is blowing though. It must think it's March already cause you could fly kites easily out there.

I brought in salad fixin's for lunch along with a bit of grilled chicken. That should hold ya til the smoked sausage and baked beans I threw into the crockpot get done later this evening. The coffee is hot for those of you just getting up. Hot chocolate is in the thermos for those of you who have been playing in the snow and ice all morning.

Now get busy and check in. I'm going to go work on a quilt top I've gotten started on and I'll be back around later.

    Good Morning Everybody,

Is this the check-in? Here I is.

I have both of you girls beat. I have 4 home today. First we started with a 2-hour delay at school, then at 8:30am school was declared closed for the day. We got about 6" of snow, and while the main roads were cleared pretty good the back roads were almost upassible. So....the kids are outside in the snow, or playing video games, or watching dvds, etc.

So you got the snow I sent you ,uh Cuz? Maybe you can post a pic of you outside making Snow Angels. Yes, you'll have to wear socks and shoes to go outside and play in the snow. :flower:

Trying to teach the Gkids some very simple cooking skills. As they grow older I'll teach them to cook different things. That's how I learned, I didn't want to be the proverbial bachelor living on eggs, and fast food so I taught myself to cook, and eventually I got to where I could cook well enough so I wouldn't starve, and wouldn't embrass myself if I had to make a meal for somebody.

Time to go out and snowblow the walk and driveway again. :BangHead:

Reporting for check in, Ma'am! (salute):saint:

It is 64 and stormy here. Two hours ago the temp was 72.

This is chemo week. blech! Had a bone scan yesterday and will also see the Dr. Thursday morning.
So far this stuff is working and we're praying it will keep working. If we can get the tumor marker to stay down I'll get a break from this nasty old chemo stuff.

If it snowed down here, about 20 miles North of Florida, I think everything would shut down.

Gayla: Praying that the markers stay down. It's time you had a break.

So you got the snow I sent you, Cuz? C'mon you know you want to go out and play in the snow like you did when you were a little girl. Just imagine rolling around in your front yard making Snow Angels...wouldn't that be fun? I'd almost pay to see a pic of you doing that, and yes I'll help you stand up after you're done. :flower:  :flower:

I've blown out the walk and driveway twice already today, and it looks like I'm going to have to do it again, the wind keeps drifting the snow across them.

Since the Gkids have been outside playing most of the day, for dinner I'm making Deep-Dish Chicken Pies, Biscuits, Corn Souffle, and Banana-Sour Cream Cake for dessert. I'll make extra so anybody that stops by the Coffeehouse can have some too.
