WELCOME ONE AND ALL TO THE...

The only "RULE" here is NO fussin' - NO fightin' - NO feudin'!

I will try to be here to serve you; but if not, feel free to help yourself.

First one in every morning puts the coffee and tea on, last one out at night turns the lights off...

We serve donuts, cinnamon toast (dry toast available upon request), crumpets, bagels, scones, croissants, brioche rolls, donuts, yogurt, salads, light lunches, popsicles, ice cream, homemade cookies, homemade cakes, homemade pies, and homemade jams.

We also serve coffee (with/without caffeine), hot chocolate, hot tea, iced tea, fresh squeezed lemonade and orange juice, cappuccino, Mountain Dew, DP, DDP, Coke, Pepsi, Sprite, milk, milkshakes, Kool-Aid, and Carb Options.

If you don't see your drink or food of choice...just ask, we will do our best to stock it for you!

Our aim is to please...come and sit a spell, enjoy the fellowship and come back often!

As Christians, we are ALL on common ground...

Good afternoon all and welcome to our new facilities.

We went out of town for church today too, but I don't think we were as hyped up as Shane. :)

We find out in three more weeks when Dale can go back to work. It should be sometime in August (praying).

I have changed my mind. I don't think I want Dale to retire. LOL

Beautiful sunny day here and not nearly as hot and humid. It is 72º here and NO RAIN for a change!

When we went to Missouri, we had to backtrack over 100 miles because a bridge was flooded out! Not good on the gas mileage!

    HAGD all!

Well, it's raining, thundering and lightning so today we stayed home from our trip.

Lauren graduated from high school today in weather that would kill a camel. It was HOT and we had to sit on the football field bleachers for 2 hours as the program went on. I saw 5 people being taken off the bleachers by the emergency medical personnel so I made sure the family stayed well hydrated. Thank goodness they were smart and had out a stand with free water and Gatorade so that helped a lot. So now I'm a parent of a COLLEGE FRESHMAN!! YIKES!! How did I get old? Wasn't it just last week I was 27? Oh wait - that was just the doctor saying how old he THOUGHT I was (it was a doc in a walk-in clinic and I decided I love him - LOL).

So tonight is buttoning up the loose ends for the trip, showers all around and a good night's sleep. :) We'll be on the boat by 8:15 and heading to the Connecticut River hoping to be there by late afternoon. :)

    I'll catch ya'll next week!

It stormed here last night. The kids loved it, they haven't seen a good thunderstorm in a while!

My oldest is home. She spent a week at a college youth program for talented and highly able students. Kinda neat, will look good on her college application in the future! On the other hand, she was the prosecuting attorney in one class and lost her case. She's said, from the time she knew what it was, that she wanted to be an attorney. Now she says it's boring and horrible, so I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens from here. LOL However, the accused, Jack, did plea guilty to a lesser charge.

He was accused of murder in the first degree. The victim? A giant. The murder weapon? An axe, via chopping down the beanstalk. She couldn't prove he intended to kill the giant when he chopped it down. (those unfamiliar with fairy tails won't get it, but it had me laughing out loud when she told me!)

Oh, Gina, that's funny! I bet she would be more excited if she had won her case though. :)

I will send you some of our thunderstorms. That's all we've been having and we are about flooded out here in the midwest!

Produce will surely go up because most of the fields are still underwater. :(

It is SO good to see you posting again!!! :1_grouphug:

While they're at it, they'll probably raise the price of other stuff too just because.

Guess America as a whole will be slimming down between the fuel and food prices!
And thank you...it feels nice to be back now that I actually did it! :godisgood:

    Good morning all.

Wow, I keep forgetting to post here, and in all the other haunts that I usually kept last year. I'm just not up to doing it any more.

So, whaz up in the ol' Coffee House these days? I feel like a visitor from out of town these days when I come to post. But, then again, I always feel like I'm with family.

    Blessings to y'all.

Hey Tony! Always good to see ya!

    Good Morning Everyone!

Well sorta good morning. I'm in pain again. Stupid arthritis! Evidently I overdid over the weekend. My right arm hurts from finger tips to above my elbow and several joints are swollen. Hurts to hold anything, including my coffee cup. Thankfully, I can still use my left hand for that! But some of those joints are sore as well. Then there is the whole back and leg stuff that is constant, but doesn't seem to bother me near as much as my hands and arms.

So, I'm going to lay around today so hopefully I'll be able to go sew tomorrow. Maybe by Wednesday I'll feel like making up the wild plums. They'll keep another day or so in the fridge. And if they don't, I'll stick 'em in a pot and cook them down into juice and freeze that till I am better. That'll just leave Tanya's peaches and I think she said some of those still needed to ripen some. The berries are already put up.

Well, I left a jar of red plum jam on the counter. I just had some on toast and MmMMm, Tanya and I did a good job on them! They are just sweet enough to not be too tart. Almost like eating the plums off the tree!

    Ya'll have a good day!

    Good Morning Everybody,

Good to hear from you again Gina and Tony and PJ!

Sorry to hear about your latest 'house guest" Arthur, Cuz. I'll be praying that he decides to leave soon. Red Plum Jam sounds delicious, sounds great on hot homade biscuits too.

My Wife's ex [our kid's dad] is visiting from South Carolina for a week. He's camping in our backyard with our daughter and the Gkids joining him in side-by-side tents. Things have really improved over the years [22 of them.] I probably won't be in here most of the week, as we have quite a few things planned while he's here.

Other than that not too much going on here.

It's great to touch base with you again! Like Tony, sometimes I just forget to stop in.

Sounds like things are well with you and yours. Hope you enjoy every moment of your week with the gkids and "Mr. Ex". ;)

    Good morning all!

I will add my welcome back to Gina, Tony, and PJ!

I think more people are stopping by to inspect our new facility. :)

I am busy today typing up The Prodigal Post, printing them, folding them, stuffing the envelopes, putting address, and return address, labels on them and, of course, let's not forget the stamps!

I will be mailing the 'hard copies' out tomorrow. I hope to send the 'soft copies' via email today.

I am also making out checks and paying bills.

    I'd best 'get 'er done'!

    Have a great day all!

Sue... you are way off base, lol. This ain't "morning," it's AFTER NOON!

I have been grinding up some coffee beans I bought yesterday in Monroe, washing/drying bed clothes and putting them back on the bed, straightening up my room, sorting out stuff, feeding/watering animals... the norm'.

It felt really nice early this morning. Some places are supposed to take a cool dip into the 50s tomorrow morning... yipee! You can count on me swinging and sippin' that bayou blend talkin' the LORD first thing tomorrie morning!

My Grandmother brought in fast food from town... hamburger and fries. I made myself feel better by opting out of the soda and staying with my jug of water. Fast food = greasy food!

    Enjoy the beautiful day~

    Good Morning Everyone!

As much as I hated to do it, I took the nasty medicine and feel somewhat better this morning. At least my elbows aren't hurting with every step. Who would have ever thought that the mere motion of walking could cause elbow pain??? I'm going to stay away from karate until Thursday and take it easy again today and tomorrow. But there are still plums and peaches to be put up!

Today is exchange day. How I hate to pay bills every month! I will make up for having to do something so distasteful by going to the church and having some adult conversation while the ladies sew. I doubt my hands will allow me to do much but I can supervise! :D Thankfully, the arthritis hasn't started in my jaw yet.

    Ya'll have a good day!

 that would be more than you could take wouldn't it?

cindi...you really need to get those hands to feeling better. after all we do have 15 pounds of peaches sitting here in my fridge.

todays goal is to get the laundry put away. i got behind during VBS and well, it has all been washed but, not put away since then. that was 3 weeks ago. living out of laundry baskets....just won't do.

sewing at the church? well...i may not get much sewing done but i hope to get a lot of cutting out done. i have 3 dresses that have parts smocked but, can't be put together until i get everything cut out. we won't discuss how long i have had the smocking done

hope you all have a wonderful day!!

    Good Morning Everybody,

It is already 77 degrees here, headed for a high in the high 80's.

Arthritis of the jaw? Hmmm Cuz, this is getting serious. I once knew somebody who suffered from "Alcoholic Arthritis" - He got stiff in all the joints in town.

What a night! We had all the grandkids here last night so they could be with "Grandpa Dean." We had a big campfire in the backyard, and we all sat around and talked, had popcorn, and "Grandpa Dean" played his banjo.

We're going to have a full house this weekend there are going to be 14 people here. Camping in the backyard, eating, playing, going to the parade, playing games, etc.

I am under orders from Brenda that she expects some "special cooking" while her ex is here. Methinks she is trying to "show me off" for what I can cook. So tonight we're having Montreal Peppered Steak, Montreal Peppered Portabellos, Buffalo Chicken Twice-Baked Potatoes, Southern Cobb Salad, and Chocolate Spice Bundt Cake with Orange Glaze for dessert.

Can't say we have a "menagerie", but we sure have a madhouse!

    ~ Good Southern Morning ~

Matthew 5:45 - "That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust."

"When the roll, is called up yonder... when the roll is called up yonder... when the roll is called up yonder; when the roll is called up yonder I'll be there." It is absolutely a beautiful morning outside. Nope, the sun ain't no where close to bein' up, but the way it feels and smells outside right now gets the Mississippi muddy water flowing through my veins! If you don't get up early, you have no idea what the best part of the day holds that God has made. In about 15 minutes, it'll smell like bacon across this country homestead~ yummmmmmm

I called Granny before bed last night, and she told me she and the gang went to Bastrop and Rayville yesterday. She said she called my cell phone yesterday to let Kacie and I know, but I didn't hear it ring. Kacie and I both got the same phone and we still are trying to figure out how to use them, lol. We have yet to set up our voicemail. Anyway, Granny said she was calling to see if we wanted to go, and we most certainly did. She said we'll make it up another day. She did get me two bags of coffee... one I have been l00king (<---- see my eyes?) for and a new one. Ain't dat sweet?! Thanks, Grannyschmoo~

Y'all have a great day... it is time to get biddy with it...breakfast to cook and clothes to wash. Oh, I can't wait 'til I marry Kacie, lol. Believe it or not, it is in her blood. She loves to cook and clean. I can not count the times she has came over here to my house and just started cleaning. I am not talking about picking up and straightening up, I can do that and keep it done well, but dusting and mopping and vacuuming and scrubbin'...and ugh-ugh!!! I won't touch it, lol.

See ya, but wouldn't ever wanna be ya! ;)

    Morning all,

We are still at flood stage and it is raining again. It has cooled off though. It was 90º yesterday and it's 63º right now.

I am having family up from Missouri sometime today. They will be staying through the week end. I get to see Brent! Yipeeeeee!

I usually have everything planned out way in advance, but I haven't even decided what we're eating on the 4th. LOL

Next week is busy too. We are going to Wisconsin on Wednesday and Kentucky on Friday.

If I don't get a chance to stop in, don't worry, I'm "on the road again". :)

    Happy 4th!

    Good Morning Everybody,

Welcome from the Ark, currently located in Michigan. We had severe thunderstorms, hail and high winds most of the night. The forecast for today is no rain and warming up to the 70's. The forecast for the holiday weekend is great too. I'm the only one allowed to post from the ark - I'm the arkangel! [I know, groaaann  ]

I like your rendition of "On the Road Again" Sue, you're also better looking than Willie Nelson too.

Our village 4th of July festival starts tonight with a street dance, rides for the kids, softball games, Lions Club chicken and ribs BBQ, etc.

My break is over, time to go put up groceries and get the prep for tonight's dinner ready. Tonight is Pecan-Crusted Chicken, Baken Multi-Grain Macaroni and Cheese[for the Gkids and visiting kids], Cilantro Potato Salad, Fried Dill Pickle Spears, and Mediterranean White bean Salad.

    HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYBODY!!!
