There's Brother Barnabas....You and wife have a wonderful and safe visit with family and friends in Budapest. It is a very short stay though. I like a month when I go to England, although I did go over for a week-end one time.

    Cheers, God bless,

    Jim

Jim, just curious...why are you wishing us a "Happy Holiday", referring to Yom Kippur? No problem...just think it a little odd since the name of this website is "Baptist Board". [IMG]

Do any of you read along with the "Bible Reading Plan" Clint posts? I am staying up with the reading every day and am enjoying it immensely!! I've never tried to read from 4 different books of the Bible at one time, and I am finding it quite challenging...yet extremely enlightening!! I LOVE reading God's Word! Gets my day off to such a great start! [IMG]

Long story, short....There was a long gap between conversations,,,half one to 6....So, to break the silence, figuring everyone must be on holiday (which is a vacation to Americans), I said Happy Holiday.

Then Blackbird came on and asked what holiday? Not having any specific bank holiday in mind, I responded with the day it is, Yom Kippur..it is the Jewish Day of Atonement, which was later stated to Blackbird when he enquired.

It was a joke, of sorts..It had no significance..it was fluffing words....it was a filler of no consequence or significance....

    Breathe...breathe.... Nevermind, I am English!

    Cheers,

    Jim

I AM breathing...I'm just a little slow on "British humor"!!

Well, CJ, if you don't pose the question, you will never get the answer...I have the same time with American humour at times.

Never be afraid to ask me if something is not clear.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Now, ya'll know Blackbird, don't ya'll??? He ain't no good with the good "King's English"---but we gotta learn! We just gotta!

OOPS! I got so excited I skipped that part didn't I? [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] I am glad to see you made it down this far Watchman and I hope you will stop in often and take a break from the debate forums!

Sue an understandable mistake by an anxious fan!
I do have a look at this forum everyday, but do not have much to say since when I post everyone is signed off (Dr. B. is not the ONLY nightowl here!)
Yes, I do need a break once in awhile from the argue, er, ah, debate forums.

    Good Morning Watchman!

Dr.B. will be glad to know he is no longer alone. :D

Do you work second shift? I know when hubby did that, he would stay up and unwind when he got home from work and then sleep really late the next day. We will be happy for you to check in no matter WHAT time it is! [IMG]

    We have [IMG] !!!!!!!!!

Good morning to those who brave the wee hours, although this is no wee hour I make my face show, is it?

I have been on the go this morning since five, but still puzzling on this morning's devotional passage.

When I get around to writing it, read the verses that Watchmen wrote in beforehand.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Good Morning Jim!

Not to worry....your devotions are well worth waiting for!

It looks like we are having "Indian Summer" on this side of the pond. We have had a frost and now the weather is going to be warm again for awhile (at least in the daytime).

    Very sunny

    45ºF right now...high today: 81ºF

I am off to 'my corner' now, then a quick trip to the grocery store.

I will be back a little later this morning.

I'm in favor of having Indian Summer -- all winter long. I hate the cold! [IMG]

Sue - protect those babies at the cross walk!!

Jim - I'm a waitin' to see what you have to say today in the Coffee Shop Chapel!!

Good morning folks! Well now, we have only four teams left in the competition, the Cubs, Marlins, Red Sox and Yankees. We will be in Hungary when these teams will battle out for the championship.... naturally, we are rooting for the Yankees. ;)

Brother Dan, yes, there will be internet connections where I will go, but time will be very limited because we have so much to do in very little time. [IMG]

Brother Jim, Diane, Sue, and Dan, thank you all for the good wishes toward our trip! We will leave at 11:55 PM Thursday night, and arrive there at 2:00 PM (10:00 AM EST) on Friday. Until then I will be posting here and there, for there are a lot of things to do before the flight... Have a nice day all! [IMG]

    Good Morning Dan and Barnabas!

I wonder where Diane is this morning? I miss seeing her smiling face at the Coffee House!

Jim: I don't see a single thing wrong with your devotion...after all, if it's coming from your heart and the Word of God; how can it not be all right?

I have some work to do around the house this morning. I will pop in for a DDP when I take a break.

HI All, Just checking in for a minute and then off again.

Nick got bit by 3 mosquitos while I was on the phone with Helen yesterday. Both arms and one ankle are badly swollen so we had a doctor visit first thing this morning and are JUST coming in. He put Nick on Prednisone for 5 days. He's had swelling a lot worse than this but this swelling came on very quickly even with him taking Zyrtec daily, Benadryl as soon as we saw the bites, Motrin and cortisone cream! Doctor is sending him to an allergist. Said he's not sure there's desensitizing agents YET for mosquitos but that the allergist might be able to help us better control these reactions. Can you imagine being 8 and having to spend months hiding from mosquitos! I ALWAYS spray him..... but yesterday, middle of the day, he went out in a short sleeved shirt and without socks. :(

Take a deep breath,,,,,,phewwwwwww,,this must be hectic Tuesday...Big Macs are a dollar and you only have 99 cents.

Removed an old chimney to dispose of a gas furnace and discovered a gas leak...How wonderful the Lord is. We donated the furnace to one who couldn't afford to buy one and discovered the gas leak....That could have given us an explosion this winter with woodfires burning....

    Cheers,

    Jim
