Wow Jim! What a blessing! God used you to bless others and protected you in the process! Helen told us this past winter of God speaking to her as she was loading the wood stove in the middle of the night. She clearly heard 'Black Widow' and looked down to see one on the wood!

God is good! THANK YOU for sharing that today.

Good Day, all. I just returned from playing for a funeral. Our pastor did a marvelous job with the service. He certainly preached the gospel as well as comforted the family.

The church was packed with people, so many I played for 45 minutes while they viewed the deceased. I am glad I was playing the organ because my left hand started cramping. It would have been tough on the piano.

The niece of the woman who died sang "The Lord is my Shepherd. She has a beautiful voice. She is only 16, but has so much poise that you would think that she is in her 20's.

I had not played for funerals until three years ago and I have learned that one can tell when the family is a Christian family or not. With Christians even with sadness there is joy and hope. With the non Christians there is only sadness.

When I play the organ anymore I have to say, "Look mum; no hands..." Betty, the right hand was all I ever could play. The left hand sort of found the chords. A piano would have been impossible for me. I learned to play on a pump organ where even a Baptist could dance during the service.

Yes, the Lord looks after us all even when we least expect it. No fanfare, just loving care. To add a plus, the chap who does the gas work around here was very busy, but drove in unannounced and put everything in order. God answers even our silent prayers, doesn't he?

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Good Afternoon Everyone!

I am off to 'the corner'. My computer is acting up again. It is running so S L O W. I keep rebooting, but it does no good. I can only stay online for 5-10 minutes before it freezes up. I think the time has come for a new one.

I will try to get back online later this afternoon or early evening.

Sue, you do have your hands full with that computer, and you just had it serviced. I would ask the technician a few questions about that service.

    Blessings on you,

    Cheers,

    Jim

Busy day here, to. Another beautiful fall day (75F at 1 pm) and the road construction in front of our place is about done. They are painting lines on the new concrete!

We have the "Caring Center" pregnancy resource banquet this evening. Funny. We had a lady in our little ifb church in 1989 get the burden for a crisis pregnancy center. Shoestring budget; we had training sessions in our church basement for volunteers for phone line and running a closet for gals who kept the baby and didn't abort.

Now has quarter of a million dollar budget and is supported by a wide array of "evangelical" churches as well as the big Mormon and Catholic factions. There will be 650+ at the banquet ($50 a head).

When I was interim at the Free church last year, we gave $5k toward an Ultrasound Machine. Found that when mothers see the LIVING BABY in their womb, they aren't nearly as likely to go butcher it at Planned Parenthood.

So now time to scoot to the Clinic for 4 hours, then on to the banquet. Will report late night (when I'm awake and no one else is) about the happenings.

Sure beats going to a funeral!!

DR. Bob, when that lady gets burden, she gets a burden. If we'd only stop and listen to God He would do great things.

Evening all. I am online, but not sure for how long.

I did Jim. I told them I expected to have a credit up there because the very thing I took it in for has NOT been fixed.

I really DO need a new computer, but have been putting it off. I do a lot of work on mine and it is going on five-years old. I am about to run out of space too.

If I disappear, you will know what happened.

We used to buy new computers every two years, but both my computers are 5 and 4 years old now,,one Windows 95 and the other 98. Mary's upgrades every year, but she has accounting and tax programs on hers and needs to be up-to-date.

I keep my other machine because my Cadd program only works on 95..It would cost me $700. US to get a newer version, and I don't need it for what I do.

All the best with yours, Sue.

    Cheers,

    Jim

We're all watching the Cubs Jim. They were ahead and then gave up three homers in a row and are now behind in only the third inning!

Probably some cussin' going on and people don't want to be on BB.com while cussin' ! LOL
    Just Teasing!

Well, we're not ALL watching the Cubs, Diane!!! Personally, I don't care for baseball...never have, so I am not watching! [IMG]

Now the Colts/Bucs FOOTBALL game last night was a different story!!! THAT was an exciting game...during the last 4 minutes!!

So, tonight, I am doing some Bible study and some catch up on some things I needed to do for my Sunday School class. And occasionally checking in at the BB!! :D

C.J., I don't care for football at all and can only enjoy basketball if I'm there and know the players.

Got my cat purring on the sofa, hubby yelling at the t.v. screen and Nick playing on his PlayStation in his bedroom (staying up late because he has to take some more meds for his mosquito bites before sleep)...

The Cubs are up to bat in the eight inning and the score is 6 - 6. They better sing to the clubs to come alive, or else.... [IMG] Good night y'all! [IMG]

    Good evening all.

The new edition of the Coffee House Chapel #2 is on the board.

We had a busy afternoon. Jan went and had a bone scan done - to see if she had osteoporosis - just a precaution.

Then we went down to Practical Bible College to pick up two of our grandchildren for a couple of days. Abigail (5 in Novemeber) and Daniel (3 last August).

After 25 or 30 miles - Jan commented that Daniel was tired, which he denied, and about two miles later - he was "out like a light!"

Abigail talked a steady streak for about 80 miles. At one point she informed us that "camels spit. I definately don't want a spitting camel!" Where do these kids come up with this stuff. It amazes me that they talk and think like they do.

    Have a good evening.

    Dan
