Good Morning My Early Birds - Sheila and Roger!

I downloaded both of the programs recommended by Barnabas and Rob. (Thank you) The adware pop ups have stopped, but when I run a scan, it shows I still have 10 'threats' and they are all "adware". They are not infected files, but it bugs me that I can't delete them!

The scan asks me if I want to delete and I click on yes and then it says 'delete failed'. There were 12, but I found 2 on 'add/remove' programs and deleted them manually. I can't find the other 10.

20º here with a high today of 40º. Monday night it is supposed to be down to 1º! This weather has been weird all winter!!!

    You are up early Sue!

I have the same problem with my McAfee virus software. Gator adware loads stuff on that I can't get off. I always have two "possibly unwanted" files that I cannot delete. Drives me crazy ;) .

I know what you mean. Just the fact that they are there and I can't delete them maked me edgy!

I get up around 4 every morning. I am definitely a 'morning' person! But then I go to bed early (unless I can sneak in a 'power' nap) because I am so tired!

I would have made a good farmer's wife!

Morning all, I woke about 1 1/2 hours ago but just am overwhelmed right now. One of the ladies had sent me a jobs link and he spent the early a.m. hours there. Thank you!

PLEASE pray for us today. I still hold to God's promise and expect a miracle.

    Diane

    Morning all!

It was only 0ºF on the way to work this morning!

I downloaded the adware program that Barnabas gave us the link to yesterday - ran the program - it quaranteed 30 or so files.

Other similar programs when run in the past wouldn't let me access BB - so I restored all the files.

This time - I was able to get on BB - so the program must work.

Diane - I am praying for your situation!

    Dan

Good morning (early risers) Sheila, Roger, Sue, Diane, and Dan! Hope you are bundled up and keep it cozy. Here in the Big Apple we had 0°F, and will eventually climb up to 16 sometime today (if we live that long). [IMG]

Last night I had to be up, on BB business, and snapped the picture below. It is in front of our window, and since last Christmas the lights are still on.

Hope you can see it. There was 6" of snow on the ground from yesterday's storm. [IMG]

P.S. Sue, the program you downloaded yesterday (Registry Mechanics) is allegedly a free program. But when you want to delete something, it will not let you because you have to register and pay for the services. But the one I gave you, Ad-aware 6.0 will do all the work for you and let's you delete, quarantine, etc. But you have to check on every file it shows individually for deletion, or whatever. Just wanted to let you know.

P.P.S. Every time I search the Web via Google or other search engines, I have as many as 30-40 spywear cookies attach to the pages. I have a "Avant Browser" which shows me the pop-ups, without opening them, but the spywear cookies have to be deleted with the Ad-aware 6.0 program. It works for me! [IMG]

    Good morning, everybody!!

Wow...I slept in till 8:00!! I NEVER sleep that late...feel like I've lost half the day!! [IMG]

Prayers for our friends in the northeast today. When the ferry system shuts down because they are iced in, you KNOW it's cold up there. Hope everybody can stay in and stay warm.

Headlines in the paper this morning:

"Northeast cold slows travel, sparks warnings"

and right under THAT headline is THIS headline:

    "Global warming evidence is mounting"

It seems to me that most global warming stuff is merely the "Tree huggers" attempt to push their own brand of propaganda!

    Dan - I haven't hugged a tree lately!

At 11:10 AM - I walked two blocks to my doctor's office to get a tetnus shot. It was plenty chilly.

Wednesday afternoon - I skewered my index finger - left hand - with a screw gun - it bleed good - it hurt - I stuck a tissue over it so I could continue working on the house.

Thursday - I asked my Endrochronaligist - what she thought about her diabetic patients who skewered themselves? She gave me a prescription for an antibiotic ointment - but did not have tetnus available. So I took care of that today!

Boy - do I have to be more careful!

Dan - self inflicted - but still posting! [IMG]

Hey!! Where is everybody today??? :(

How come when I am working and am not able to "chat", everybody is talking like crazy; but when I am off and ready to talk, no one is here?? (Don't anybody answer that!) [IMG]

Of course, looks like today, everybody talked while I was sleeping in! Guess I just can't win! :D

Jul...I have used allrecipes.com a lot! TONS of great recipes there!!

It's 60º and raining. I've done all the running around I need to do, so I think I'll go read for awhile!

    Later...

    Dan,

I am sorry to hear that you managed to hurt yourself. That was rather a dumb thing to do, the kind of thing I expect of Rob, hopefully those days are over. He once managed to "unglove" the thumb on his left hand.

CJ, I have had a busy day too. I don't really seem to have achieved too much either. I thought I had a bargain in the sales...two new duvet sets but one of them has a hole in it, so it can go back tomorrow...more running around.

Dinner time here, I will look in later,

    God Bless

    Sheila

    Hey Dan,

Must be careful with those screw guns!! I walked about one whole day with a two inch nail in my foot. Discovered it when trying to take my shoe off..it was nailed! Diabetes also takes away some pain.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Goodness Jim, that sounds nasty. Do you take longer to heal being diabetic?

I know I take longer to have things heal, especially on the extremities. I guess the extra sugar in the system gives the germs and the fungi more to eat, so they hang around longer.

Thank God I never had injuries like those described here! Do take care, folks, and use lots of peroxide and neosporin.

    Sheila,

Some of the symptoms of diabetes:

    1. Thirsty
    2. Urinating - a lot
    3. Injuries on extremities - taking over two weeks to heal.
    4. Hungry all the time.
    5. Blurred vision.

I had most of these things before I was diagnosed with diabetes!

Dan - just a real sweet guy!

PS - I was trying to do to much too fast! Guess I need to take it a little easier!

    Dan,

Well, I am just relieved I am not diabetic. I don't think I could cope with that. It is in the family tho', but there again so is asthma.

Now, should I do the ironing or should I stay here and post ???

    Sheila
