    Blackbird --

Writing about Lake Superior, we used to go to Duluth all the time, winter and summer, just to hang out. We would take a room in the Holiday Inn on the edge of the water. I loved that little town -- it made me feel like I was in San Francisco in 1890 -- "ocean" and all!

But one time, my first husband went there for a ski vacation. (I stayed home with the children, who were small.) My husband took photos while he was out, and that particular winter was harsh. He took photos of Frozen Waves on the edge of Lake Superior! They were absolutely frozen -- standing!

That winter, the waves on Superior were so bad that they splashed the windows on the second floor of the Holiday Inn!

    Sue --

"The only RULE here is NO fussin', fightin', or feudin'!"

Hah! Well, I'm mad at you -- and jealous -- so the rule does not apply to ME!!!! Why, you ask? WHY?!? Because I read yesterday that your house is older than mine. So Pthththth!

    Good Afternoon Everyone!

Gwyneth: It is good to see you posting. My prayers will be with you at your mother's funeral tomorrow. [IMG]

    [IMG] Abiyah: [IMG]

If you could see the mess this wiring is in, you wouldn't be jealous in the least! Also, the money it has taken us so far to work on it! My house might be older, but I bet yours is nicer! ;)

Gayla and Cherry: Sorry, I wasn't here when you stopped by. It looks like there were plenty of others here to serve you though. [IMG]

    Roger: Still teaching...

    Dr.B.: Still marrying and eating...

    Sheila: Still shopping...

Diane: Still being weird and wanting snow...

    Dan: Still causing problems...

And so goes another day at the Coffee House! It's so nice to pop in and find that everything is still nice and normal! [IMG]

    §ue (nice but never 'normal')

Sheila, the Horlicks arrived. Thank you!!!
I couldn't wait until bedtime, so maybe I'll have a restful Nap this afternoon. ;)
It is very good! I did expect it to be sweeter, there is none added, but it really dowsn't need it.

Sue-- what is 'normal', anyway?? ;) :D

A normal day in the House!

Well, I'm signing off a little early tonight, not bedtime yet, but gonna enjoy a nice cuppa and some reading before bed.

I am sure that I can trust you all to keep the board active for me.

I would imagine I will see Dr Bob when I get up in the morning!

    Bye 4 now [IMG]

Well Dan... how sweet of you! You and Jan have extra bedrooms? LOLOL

Truth is... I don't even like to travel! Sue and I are very much alike in that respect. I want to be home. I don't want to cruise and I don't want to fly... but we'll be there in July.

    Gayla,

I am so pleased you like it. Maybe it is possible to get it over there. Try just keying in the name and see what search comes up with. LOL. Maybe I should take orders ready for when I come over to the U.S. in September. [IMG]

    Blessings

HI Moondog, good to see you in the Coffee House! So whatever are you doing in my neck of the woods?

Gib's going to be here in one week. We hope to be able to visit in person this time instead of just on the phone!

What's for supper? I'm not even hungry yet! Got to put on my thinking cap!

Hey, Moondg, Can you tell me how to use my phone?

I think I am about to learn how. We have Siemens A 56. It is so tiny I am afraid I'm going to lose it.

Dan, I have had two homes before, although it was great it was also a pain. I couldn't remember where anything was, this house or that house? Of course, now I can't remember where it is.....I just say, I guess it got lost in the move or I gave it away!

Home, now is wherever Ed is! One friend said, I believe you would follow that man to the moon....Indeed I would.

I took a nap this afternoon, too.

Pinto Beans and cornbread for supper.

By the way, does anyone know the Indian Legend about the Oak tree that does not lose its leaves, the one whose leaves turn brown, but the leaves stay on in the winter. I think it is a white oak, not sure.

Someone told me that legend years ago, but I can't remember it and then I have searched for Indian Legends on the internet and can't find it.

I call the friend that I thought told me that, but she said it wasn't her....

Anyone know? We have one of those trees in our front yard and I would like the story.....

Oh Sure, Moondog. My Jim has called on Siemen's for YEARS. We're on the other side of Atlanta and there's not much traffic here. I don't go past Thorton Road if I'm the driver. That's the exit for the airport. I don't mind the airport... but not the Atlanta traffic. Hubby drives Ala., Ga., part of Fla. with this job but covered 5 states before.

    Welcome to Georgia

I have 4 "sawtooth" oaks in my yard & they still have all their leaves(brown, of course).

Also typed in "indian folklore" + oak tree
and came up with many links...hope this helps.

My oaks lose their leaves when the new leaves come in spring and not before but I sure don't know any Indian Legend about them.

So tomorrow is swim lessons quiet early in the morning. Jim's leaving at 5:00 a.m. The man he was to travel with is very ill and now will be out of work for the rest of the week. Jim's going to North Carolina to the company that hired him. He'll be gone a couple of nights.

I found some really neat games for AWANA for tomorrow night. I think I'll do a story and craft to match one and give them Goldfish to eat to match the game, etc.

What's everyone doing this fine night?
