Trikes going down the yard...Oh dear, we have just the yard for that and I had never thought about that. We trying to baby proof our yard. We have to put a bannister on one side of the deck and put up a gate...Maybe we should just have an enclosed play yard.

My wife is using my recent increased pain as a test for a new herbal extract made from Black Poppy. After 3 nights of fits-and-starts of sleep, I was exhausted and took something to knock me out.

But seems like the Poppy (yes, think heroin) is helping. Appreciate continued prayers. I have to preach three times and drive my old Mercury 2500 miles in the next week and need to have a sharp mind and rested body.

There is nothing I've ever experienced like the wearing down of mind and body through continual pain. My heart goes out to those who suffer such debilitating health challenges.
I'm working on the "gladly" part.

We had the whole back yard fenced in but used the black chain length fence so it doesn't show from the street. The kids really enjoy the back yard but if the big ones do something, you can be sure the little ones will mimic them soon.

Well, one down and 3 more will leave. Jack really expects me to hold him most of the time. I can't walk around holding him but I also dare not let him out of my sight! He's 21 months and all boy! Any button gets pushed, any furniture is climbed... He's in daycare 5 days a week for extended hours and it's a very high priced place. There's only 2 children per each worker. I must have said 'no-no' 1,000 times today! LOL

    Yes, Blackbird! ALWAYS busy anymore!!!

    Good morning all:

A cool 48º here this morning heading for a high of 78º and 1/4 inch of rain...

Hung all my winter clothes outside to air them out yesterday, then put them in my bedroom closet and put all my summer clothes in the 'spare' closet (in the hall). My bedroom sure smelled good last night! [IMG]

I'm not a 'mirror' person. I look in the mirror, in the morning, when I comb through my hair and that's usually it for the day.

Brent asked me last night what I did to my eye. I had no clue what he was talking about because I had no pain (and still don't). But I looked in the mirror and it looked like someone punched me out! It is black and blue from the inside corner up onto my top lid about an inch! There is a little discoloration underneath, but not much. Something has evidently caused bleeding under the skin, but I am totally clueless as to what...

Going to clean the back vestibule today and mop four floors - will vacuum the rest. I also need to dust. Anyone do windows??? :D

    Cruising,

    Hello All.

Rob and I are back from our trip to Wales and we arrived home in time to quickly unload the car and drive into Gloucester to meet Sam from the coach at the end of his 10 days in New Jersey and New York.

I hope everyone is ok. I have a pile of laundry to get sorted now so I will try and look in later.

    God Bless

    Good Morning, All

Ran errands yesterday... bought khaki pants because DIL wants us to wear Khaki and white for our beach portraits. I never wear light colored pants. When I found the Khaki ones, there were lovely navy blue and a dark green. Couldn't resist buying those.

Today is painting day and I thought I was through with errands, but grandson wants me to pick up his yearbook and autograph book. So a trip to the high school and the church. I wonder if these are paid for. Do think that is why he wants me to pick them up?

Hope everyone has a great day.

Well it's only 10 a.m. and I'm exhausted! Jack slept in our room last night and is a VERY noisy sleeper. He woke at 5 a.m. and was talking away. I got him back to sleep but had to get up with Ty at 5:30. The girls got here at 8:30 and our son Jon came by to play with Jack. The house is full to overflow and 2 more will come in just a couple of hours.

I've gotten everyone dressed and fed and 3 are playing outside. Jack's down for his morning nap and Lindsey is on the sofa. She's the one who had her tonsils out.

Laundry's going and I've got to figure out what I want to make for supper....

    Have a great day.

</font>[/QUOTE]Dr. Bob, about pain. I don't know if this will help, but I've found that there's a bit of relief in trying to realize what it is.
For example, if I take a step and pain shoots up my first reaction is to arch backwards and tense up. I've learned to expect it and for a while would tense up knowing it would happen.
Instead of doing that, I try to tell myself before I try to walk that pain is simply nerves talking to your brain, and that it's nothing to be afraid of. It's a normal body process. (yes, lie to yourself, lol) Instead of tensing up I try to relax as much as possible, so by the time I walk I already am prepared to not tense up or be afraid, so while that's in the back of my mind I focus on where I wanna be. If I want to be in the car I think about what song on the CD player I might want to turn to.
Of course there's times when it's simply too overwhelming, but again, fighting it is not the answer. The mind is so powerful if used properly, I went through a tough labor with no meds using the same method. Of course there's always times when it's that bad there's no point pretending it isn't, lay on the couch and cry a while and then try to turn your focus off of it again.
I remember you mentioned something about the pressure of blankets being too painful on your feet at night. A unit like this on a wood table at the foot of the bed makes it possible to keep blankets off and still not freeze. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000638TS?v=glance

Hello all. Sounds almost like a zoo at your house, Diane!!

I am sippin' my coffee and watching Scooby Doo. We are going outside in a little while to collect leaves and paint them as a craft.

My 2 year old is wearing "big girl panties" today. I am sure there will be a mess, but she has been asking to.

I went shopping yesterday for the first time in a long time. Since I have lost weight, people have been giving me hand-me-downs (which I like) but those are too big now. So I went and got a couple of outfits, and it felt soooo good not to go into the "woman's world" sections of the stores. I literally didnt have even one shirt that fit for the cooler weather.

Speaking of cooler weather, its still in the 80's here, but the humidity is a lot lower than it has been. Its very pleasant. I even boiled some of those jumbo peanuts last night. Yummy!!

Well, everyone have a great day!!

Tater Tot, you must have lost a lot! Congrats.
I'm starting to have the same problem, and it's a problem I love. The past few years have always been "man, this is too small for me now!" When that happened I always figured I shrunk them in the dryer.
The other day I put on an outfit and said "man, this is too big for me now!"
For some odd reason I never thought that maybe the clothes got bigger in the wash. LOL

Neat problem, huh, Gina? Just in case you are wondering, I have gone from a size 24 pants to a 14.

    Good morning all:

I was so tired last night I forgot to come by. I trust everyone slept well...It was another short night for me.

63º here with light rain heading for a high of 72º and another 1/2 inch of rainfall during the day...

My eye still looks terrible, but at least whatever is causing it doesn't hurt!

    CYAL!

Good Morning Everyone! Jack slept very well until 5:00 but then went back to sleep for over an hour with nothing but a shush. He woke at 6:00 and sang the same 5 notes to himself until I got up at 8:00. What a good baby. He sure does make noises in the night tho so I woke MANY times.

Today is just my Nick, Jack and one daycare child. Brooke is very good. She's the 5 year old whose sister had her tonsils out. Her mom SHOULD pick her up right after 5:00 but last night the dad came after 8:00.

Scott and Sandra will be finishing up at Catalyst with John Maxwell tonight. They've heard Andy Stanley and some other great speakers. They plan on coming tomorrow morning. Last year, Jack was much younger, and they came up about 9:00 Friday night instead.

LOL, I got excused from Jury Duty because of my child care and they 'called' Jim instead but he's got to be away for most of this month up in Washington/ Baltimore and N.Y. He's written to ask to be moved two weeks back so he can serve. I'm sure they'll excuse him or make the move since it's a new job and job training. I've told our son Jon, that his name is on the voter registration list next. LOLOL He's not very excited because he makes really good money and doesn't want to lose out on that pay. I don't remember how it works, if his job has to pay him anyhow....

2 Peter 1:5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.

Diane, if you would charge extra when the parents to not pick up the children in a timely manner. They would be on time. You could set a definite time and then charge hourly after that time.

Well, I picked up my grandson's yearbook and autograph book and will wonders never cease! They were paid for. I'm not telling him I have them. He will be so surprised!

Hope you all have a great weekend and holiday. This is an exciting weekend for Oklahoma and Texas. When I took Muffin to the vet this afternoon, most of the streets were deserted. OU didn't have school today. The public schools are out. I think most people are all ready in Texas.

I feel like I can't do that for this year since I agreed on a set price for each week but I learned a lesson this week! The 2 girls didn't come on Monday and Tuesday since Lindsey had her tonsils out and I told the mother I'd not charge her extra for all day Wed. - Fri. and they ended up being up to 12 hour days! I'm thinking ahead to Christmas Break, Spring Break and think I'll allow a certain number of hours and charge per child for each extra hour. Not one family offered me extra for the extra hours. Some came all day and some came 2 hours early each day. NONE had eaten breakfast!

Oh y'all. I'm in pain! Urinary Tract Infection so MORE antibiotics! Dr. gave me a purple pill that will stop the pain but it has to go through my system first. And the COST! This day at the doctor cost me one full child care check. :( I go 20 years without one illness and now it seems I'm catching everything.

Isnt it a shame that people will take advantage of you?? I guess its a hard lesson learned. Keeping just my own two girls at home is alot of work. I cant imagine taking on other chidlren! I admire you, Diane!!

    Good morning all:

We're back from the papers and Brent fell back to sleep on the couch.

Today is our Youth Conference at church and since week-ends are VERY busy for us (with the paper routes so early), we are just going out once this morning and again this afternoon to watch Pastor Bob do his 'famous' (or infamous) skits!

I have to do inserts for tomorrows papers so I can be at the church by 9:30 this morning. Then I will come home and take MY nap...

    Have a great day all!
