I figure that if a person is a calvinist or not a KJVonly, they have NO SHOT at winning this horse race.

Bowties, however, help, I've been told . .

That must be it. I forgot my bowtie!

    Good morning all:

Papers are done. It is 55º here, but it is also raining. Not a very nice morning to be out and about.

I go back to the 'corner' tomorrow after an absence of over a month (due to illness). It's going to seem like a "new" job!

Time to get the 'guys' up and fix breakfast.

    HAGD!

I've enjoyed my 10 days of vacation and are looking forward to going back to work. To get back on a regular schedule, eating regular foods, sleeping regular hours and so on.

I have enjoyed the time spent with the family and Jordan and I are reading the same book. We talk about it daily. That's been kind of neat.

    Morning Everyone!
Well I have GOT to get back to not eating all those goodies. My slacks were so tight yesterday they pinched my waist! REALLY pinched.

I'm having a hard time waking up today! Even the cat was up before me. Guess I'd better drink my tea and get ready for Sunday School!

    Good Afternoon all!

I'm in need of sympathy today. My body decided to rebel and keep me in bed today and I don't like it! I made it to church before it gave out entirely and I had to come home. I didn't even get to hear the whole sermon.

So ya'll come keep me company cause all I'm able to do is lay in this bed and post.

Here's a question for you tea drinkers, where do you find loose tea leaves? My sister gave us an ice tea maker for Christmas and we'd like to experiment.

Hmmm... Loose tea leaves? I don't know! I'm not sure if a good grocery store would have it or not. I used the big tea bags in mine before I broke it. (The iced tea maker, that is)

Sorry you're feeling so bad. Hope it's not the flu!

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well, but I'm not going to keep you company right now. My recliner is calling me. [IMG]

Does your tea maker call for loose tea leaves? I always make my tea with bags...

the Tea bag. The tea bag came about at the turn of the 20th century when a tea company wanted to issue samples of their tea. Tea leaves were placed in a silk bag to be distributed as one or two cup samples.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I hope you feel better soon! I would think if you went to the health food store and one that sells herbal products you might find loose tea leaves.

The instructions for this tea maker say that we can use either bags or leaves. It uses a standard coffee filter for the loose leaves. It makes a good pitcher of tea, much easier than making it on top of the stove. I can't tell you how many times I've forgotten I was making tea and let it all boil away.

Sue, enjoy your nap. I enjoyed mine the minute I drug myself home from church. I slept for a couple of hours then. I could probably sleep a couple of more but I'm afraid of waking up with a headache.

I don't have the flu or anything that serious. I've had this particular problem before, just not for quite some time. Among the other things it causes, it messes up my already low blood pressure and makes me weak and dizzy. That's why I'm in the bed. If I'm not much better in the morning I'll call the doc and get some medicine.

menagerie says, "If I'm not much better in the morning I'll call the doc and get some medicine."

    To which Blackbird responds----

This is a line from the Andy Griffith show, ain't it???? The little lady, I believe a "Mrs. Brown" enters Ellie's Pharmacy with a dime for some pills---she has no prescription but tells Ellie---"Its the ones in the green bottle!"

    Ellie balks!

It is SO lovely here. We spent a good bit of time outside this afternoon. Nick was riding his mini bike and then Jim broke down a lot of cardboard for the dump tomorrow. I sat on the porch in the sun part of the time. [IMG] It's still 68°! Nick and the neighbor boy are playing cards on the front deck. The boy isn't allowed to go in people's houses. He only lives here part time. (This is 'Lady Godiva' boy)

I took down the tree in the rec room and in Nick's bedroom today. I also took down the Christmas cards and picked up all the Christmas figurines on the flight of stairs coming from the front door to the living room. Think I'll do more while Jim's gone tomorrow when I can get to all my boxes, etc. He's got tomorrow off but has a doctor's appointment with his pulmonary specialist.

    What's everyone doing tonight?

It's beautiful here too, Diane. If I read the weather report correctly it is supposed to stay this way here for a few days and then start raining but still be fairly warm. This feels more like spring than winter.

It reminds me of when I was a kid and we'd come south for Christmas and it'd be warm and then we'd go back to Michigan and have snow on the ground! Somewhere my mother has a picture of a family gathering when it was warm like this and all the kids in the pic are barefoot and everyone is in short sleeves. There are about 40 folks in that pic. Mother was one of 14 kids and they all ended up at her parents for Christmas.

I guess tonight I'll be doing what I've been doing all day. Staying still and posting while I watch TV. I may get brave and try playing Need for Speed on the X-box. I may still be to dizzy.

Good thing I bought plenty of groceries and cooked yesterday. Tonight everyone gets to fend for themselves. I'll get someone to make me a sandwich.

I have a church council meeting tonight following the evening service. Blah-blah-blah and then everyone goes home.

Diane-I bought Rollacoaster Tycoon for my computer. It is very addictive. I played it for 4 1/2 hours one day last week. I gave to Jordan to put on his computer and get away from me. Oh, how I want it back.

Ah, those games can be so much fun! Addictive? YEP!

No church tonight but a special prayer meeting this Wednesday night. Our church offices are closed tomorrow too.

Just got BACK inside. Nick is still out on his mini bike. It only goes 7-8 mph and will go for 8 miles without a charge. It's SO cute! He's having so much fun.

We start back schooling tomorrow. Public School is off another full week! I can't see wasting the time.

Well I've got to take me some sinus/ allergy medicine. Leaf mold really gets to me. Little blue pills. [IMG]

Another week! When did they get out?

My younguns start back Tuesday, not a day to soon! They are ready to see their friends and talk about what everyone got for Christmas. Won't all the other mothers just love hearing about Son's dirtbike!
