So sorry to hear about all of this sickness. One of my coworkers has went home early for the past two days saying, "I surrender.." He's been bringing up his lunch. Now he's on some stomach medicine and antibiotics, I hope he makes it through the day. I am beginning to feel guilty about why the Lord has spared me...

Anyway, read the poem I found that I put in the Humor section. I might make you feel better.

    Thanks Margo and Debby:

Pharyngitis is defined as an infection or irritation of the pharynx and/or tonsils. The etiology is usually infectious, with 40-60% of cases being of viral origin and 5-40% of cases being of bacterial origin. Other causes include allergy, trauma, toxins, and neoplasia.

The doctor knows anything I get usually results in a bad bout of Bronchitis, so he is extra careful about getting me on meds right away (when I go see him that is).

Jim's temp is back to 98.6° in one ear and 98.4° in the other without any fever reducer. He still feels rough and is freezing but it's so wet and cold here and the wind chill is well below freezing. I won't tell you about his coughing. Sue can guess, I'm sure!

Jim has to work all day Saturday on the phones at the office. He generally makes calls in person those days. Guess that's a blessing.

Okay, I'm trying to be brave. I've never had any 'procedures' or illness. Only thing I've done was for my dog bite and that was a rushed surgery with 5 minor in office 'surgeries' to remove necrotic tissue. I was in shock so don't remember much.

I've made the appointment for my exam prior to cataract surgery. The appointment is Apr. 8th and surgery is generally the very next Thursday. It's outpatient at the hospital in a town not far from here and insurance will cover all but $120. They use local anesthesia so no 'threat' of a reaction.

I'm really 'ansy' today because the results of my mammogram would have been ready by today or tomorrow at the latest. I've not heard anything. Everytime the phone rings I cringe.

I never had any 'procedures' or anything either--no broken bones, no nothing. The only things I had were serious illness as a baby, and had stitches in one of my feet once.
I'm pretty scared of doctors and hospitals.

I'm sure everything will go fine. [IMG]

I've had many procedures done over the years, and I'm not going to say I liked any of them. I didn't. The ones I'm still facing are not fun either.

This round of antibiotics seems to be STARTING to work. The doc is going to have to keep me on them one more week, I believe. He's still wanting to give me 3 more units of blood sometime in the near future if my hemoglobin counts don't come up. I'm not for that at all.

There was snow coming down all over the place this morning, so Vivian didn't go in. She was sick anyway. We did go out for a short drive this afternoon to get out of the house for a while.

Diane, remember, God is in control. He already knows what is happening, is going to happen, etc., and is just wanting you to trust in Him wholly on this matter. I'm sure you already do. But let Him keep your mind and heart at peace. I'm praying for you.

Sue, you get better, too! Wow, seems like the Devil is really working through illness right now.

Thanks Tony. I have this real concern about not being able to care for my boys or 'finish' what I've begun with Nick. He's such a special child. [IMG]

It's terribly cold here. A girlfriend from church called. They live in another subdivision but all the houses are alike. She and her kids are freezing too! We have gas heat, which tends to be very warm, but it's just not enough. These houses are not very air tight. I'm thankful I have a lovely little home and a family that loves me so very much.

It's been really cold here as well. Yesterday and today. (Weird . . . we had a really warm weekend.) But rain and cold right now.

Well the strike is over but the parents decided to have me pick up and keep their 5 year old but send their 12 year old home on the bus. The Mom paid me only 1/2 what she'd been paying and it's $15. a week less than I usually charge for one afterschool child. Way less than a daycare would charge! I had given a discount for 2 children with one being so much older. Now I'm out close to $200. a month until May :( AND next week is Spring Break so I'll have the boy 1 1/2 hours a day longer. Time to find another child, I guess. The Mom didn't ask me how much but had said she'd pay well. Goodness, I spend so much time just driving to pick this one up from school each day and sitting in a long line with my car idling.

Wow, Diane...sounds like someone is taking advantage of you. But, again...God knows what you have need of. Sometimes it's a test of your testimony. I'm learning this more and more every day. God will provide. Just keep your chin up, kiddo! ;)

I think so, Tony. Thing is, I JUST scheduled my eye surgery this afternoon. I have to have $120. for my share and between now and the date of the office visit, will have lost out $195. Just another opportunity for a miracle, tho.

In a way, it can be seen as a blessing. I'd like to find children to keep who don't need me to drive each afternoon. Already I'm saving 30 mins. in drive time and the older girl drank a lot of soda and ate a lot of chips and snacks. Not $45. worth tho!

Starting in May, I'm going to keep little Jack one extra day and longer hours another day for a $50. per week pay raise. That's 7 weeks away tho, unless the mother decides to start sooner. He's SO much work, tho. He's 2 and ALL boy! All DANGER boy! Today he ran off with his peanut butter sandwich and stomped it into my carpet. He then puts his hands on either side of his mouth and makes that 'suprised look' like 'What Happened?' He's beautiful and very smart and his mom is precious. I'm witnessing to her about her living arrangements.

Dr. Bob, can you post the link to your wife's website again? My mother has been told about a Chinese herb type treatment that will help a digestive problem she has.

See, Diane!!! Its that easy to diagnose!!!!

    Good morning all:

Turns out it was a 'blessing in disguise' that I didn't work this week.

My alternate told me they tore down the old school on the corner where I stand (just built a new one behind it).

She said the dust was so bad for several blocks, you could hardly see (or breathe). I wouldn't have been able to handle THAT!

It is 32º this morning heading for a high of 58º (wonderful) with rain (not wonderful)! Oh well, I can't be out in it anyway, but Brent and Grandpa still have to do the papers. Grandpa drives and Brent throws. Brent will be soaked (even with his rain slicker).

    Cruising,
    §ue

We're seeing some bright skies this morning! I'm glad our rain is gone for awhile! Mid 60°'s today and almost 70° the rest of the weekend.

I'm going to be a very brave girl. I'm going to tell the mother that I can't accept $45.00 a week for picking up her 5 year old son (8 miles round trip plus 30 mins. idle time in the car line), feeding him a snack and juicy juice. I have him 4-5 hours a day. My self employment tax on what she's paying me is $7.00 a week! Jim says I'm not even breaking even with gas costs and the amount he eats. Our agreement was $90. a week for 2 kids. One is 12 and isn't coming now. The parents earn over $100,000 a year so I don't think that should be a problem... but who knows?

My mother called last night. She's going to send me the money for my eye surgery. My hospital and doctor co pay is $120. She's building a new home in Mobile, near my relatives. She's chosen her lot and floor plan. She's pretty excited because she sold all her furniture so can buy all new everything.

I'm taking Jim to a local doctor this morning. He doesn't have a fever but hurts all over still and the coughing is very bad and productive (don't ask). I'll lose weight just because I can't eat when he's coughing like this. (Don't we have a barfing graemlin?)

    Morning all:

It's a cold 30 degrees here. But, the sun is shining! [IMG] Hopefully we will get to the convenience center to drop of the garbage and then to Wally World in Shelbyville for a few items and then back home to try to cut some of this lawn. It looks terrible!

    Sue...Diane...get to feeling better.

LOL, Tony! I'M not sick! Jim's horrible coughing and gagging make me sick. !!!

I've got a load of things to do today and have Ty since his mother had a 4 day weekend last week so won't be around much. We're going to get Jim to the doctor and possibly the hospital for an x-ray.

Hope everyone has a very nice day.

    Hey all,

I've been quite busy the last few days and just haven't had time to check in.

Precious is STILL sick and goes back to the doctor this pm. In between taking care of her, I've been doing some spring cleaning. That doesn't bode well for poor Bitsy's Easter dress. I haven't even looked for clothes for Precious(who actually has something to wear) or Son (who may decide to wear his suit and will only need a new tie).

Hopefully, I'll get Bitsy's dress cut out today. Cutting the fabric is the biggest part of it. Once I get that done, the sewing will either go fast or MIL will help.

I'm mad at the weather man! I need to have a yard sale and all week long, he has forcasted rain for today and tomorrow. So I didn't pull the stuff out. What is it today? Absolutely beautiful! I could have gotten rid of so much of this stuff!

Sue, stay in and admire your new carpet! Get Well!

Diane, I sure hope Jim gets to feeling better in a hurry! I know what you mean about not being able to eat when someone is coughing hard.

How is Ty's pinkeye? Is he feeling better? If so, let him help! Even little hands can fold wash cloths. Of course he may want to do it over and over and over.....

Dan, glad to hear the result of your biopsy was good news!

Tony, have fun at Wally world. Ours is remodeling and you can't find ANYTHING! I hate Walmart.....

Maybe I'll see you later. Then again ya'll might not hear from me till next week.
