Good Afternoon Everyone. Jim had to go to first service and it's all hymns instead of mostly CCM so we're home early today. Jim's still there since every other week he has to do all 3 services of the day.

We have to be back at church for an end of the year party first and then an AWANA recognition night service. It's going to be a LONG day! This is my ironing night too.

Not very chatty today, eh? I tried to nap but my head is too full of thoughts. Too much going on this afternoon and evening.

It's a lovely day here. Still mid 60°'s with a nice breeze tho.

It's going to be an odd week for me because of the eye surgery. I'll only have children to keep Mon. - Wed. Thursday and Friday will be spent going back and forth to Rome which is 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours away. I have to go both days.

Enjoy the rest of the afternoon.

Psalm 30:1-2 "I will extol Thee, O Lord, for Thou hast lifted me up, and hast not let my enemies rejoice over me. O Lord my God, I cried to Thee for help, and Thou didst heal me.

Had our last "basic" service today. Missing a dad and a family of 5 but still had 25. Finished message 16 on what a church is supposed to be - very different, sadly, from what we're used to.

Next week we begin Romans 1 exposition. And a month of "membership" where we put the commitment to our church into the hands of each participant. Then June 5 we will charter the church officially. Exciting time.

    Good morning all:

It is 33º here this morning! I'm sure glad we decided to wait and plant our tomatoes a little later in the season.

Brent has his final 'follow-up' appointment with the doctor that performed his surgery (in Springfield) today. He is fine. This is just a routine check.

We got only 1/4 of an inch in April.

Good morning everyone! It is cold here too, but about 42 degrees.

    Morning all:

Dr. Bob...great news about the church! And, hey, what are the wise cracks about the state I grew up in??? LOL ;)

Sue You're lucky!!! Estimates here to add a small room on the back of a house here run anywhere from $45,000 up, depending on the size. It's crazy!

Diane will be praying for your eye surgery!

Thankful Praise the Lord it's raining there! It's rained a LOT here over the past six months, and we occasionally like to see the sun! ;) But, the farmers can always use the rain!

Well, it's cool here, and was extremely cool last night. I had forgotten to turn the heater back on and we about froze our hineys off!

Today and tomorrow will be two days of testing from medical doctors...YUK...Today on my ears and the Meniere's Disease. I've got to be there at 3pm, which means Vivian has to take off a 1/2 day of work, drive one hour home, eat lunch, shower, change and then drive us back up 1 hour and 10 minutes to the Baptist Hospital in Nashville. I'll sit there and wait an hour before having my hearing test and other tests, and we won't get out of there until pretty near bedtime and still have to drive an hour plus home! I'm getting where I really don't like doctors. :(

Tomorrow, Viv and I both have to go to our PCP in Murfreesboro. Got to be there at 5:30pm. Follow up for Viv's sinus' and then my blood work/counts to see if I am going to be getting a few more units of blood. I'm hoping I don't need them at the present. One vial will be for more cancer screening.

It was great to be back in church yesterday! Anyone wanting to see our pastor and youth and childrens minister kiss a goat and get pies in their faces go to http://www.midlandbaptistchurch.org and hit the "links" connection. Then, hit "Monty's Pie-A-Thon and Goat Kissing"! It's great to see a pastor get whammed with pies for Missions! [IMG]

Ya'll have a good day, and you will be in my prayers.

    Good Morning all!

We had a quiet day here yesterday. Boy did we need it! The kids are out of school today, so things will be kicking up a notch in a few hours. I already know of three extras that'll be later on and probably a fourth.

We're going at 11 to have Precious' hair highlighted(T's idea). She's excited about that.

Then back home to see what's going on with my dryer. It suddenly quit working sometime last night after having worked fine earlier in the day. I'll have to get T's dad to come take a look at it. I'll have to move some stuff so he can get to it first! I'm not ready to replace it, it's only 15 years old(and the one I want to replace it will cost me a thousand dollars http://www.maytag.com/mths/products/product.jsp?model=MCE8000AYW&cs=0&BV_UseBVCookie=Yes )

Gayla, I guess that is not to bad of a price for a whole new roof. We put on a metal roof and added the room(outside walls and siding only) for that though. Sue, the inside we finished ourselves and we won't discuss how much we spent on that. But doing our own labor evened out how much we spent(but not $25,000!). I would get several estimates to make sure I was getting the best price.

Of course it helps that there are very few codes and permits that one has to have in order to add on or remodel. Our room was basically a remodel, since there had been a sunroom already attached. The sunroom always leaked and was basically useless. It had a sturdy slab foundation though, so it was just a matter of snatching the old room down(all plastiglass and aluminum) and raising two walls and a roof addition.

One of our summer projects is to extend the deck back to the new room. We don't expect that to cost alot either, since we can reuse the new deck railings that we installed 3 years ago. I think we figured that it would take about $400 for the materials we need and we'll do the work for it as well. It's a small addition but will greatly increase the size of our deck, because of the way the first deck was built. It was kind of circular because of the pool and we are going to square it off and bring it up to the house.

The weather here is supposed to be very nice. It is beautiful and sunny already this morning. The power co is replacing lines in the neighborhood, driving Hammer crazy. He's out "guarding" his neighborhood, trying to intimidate the workers by barking loud enough to wake the dead. All they have to do is stomp thier feet and he'll come running for Mama.

Good Morning All! Since the other children aren't coming until lunch time, I let Ty sleep until almost 9:30. His mother had called last night and said his father was coming home from working out of state and so Ty would be up til almost midnight.

I slept in til 8:45 and it felt good. I'd not slept well for a few nights. I think I'm worried about the surgery since I've never had anything like this nor anesthesia. Thanks for the prayers Tony. I'll pray for you the next few days. [IMG]

Be-you-tee-ful day in Philly! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and the Phillies won yesterday!

Diane, I pray God gives you peace about the surgery. They do millions of these procedures every day. And think of all the things you'll see that you were missing!

I am doing a retry on my shoulder MRI this evening. I've been using a prescription nasal spray, so my head is clear, and the doc decided to give me "a little something" to take during the procedure so I would mellow out. I really want to get this done, because then we will know if I've been working on a rotator cuff tear or not.

Had an interesting time at church yesterday. I had all of the children's classes covered by substitutes, and the regulars were all able to go to the service, where I took over as worship (song) leader. I've never done that before! Needless to say I was a little green about what happens when, and some of the changes that have been instituted since I was last in a whole service. For instance, when it was time to collect the offering, the users came forward, I siad a prayer, and then the music started. To my surprise, suddenly everyone started singing! The last time I was in church for the "offeratory," you just listened to the music while they took the offering! I quickly joined in. I gotta get out more! Never assume small details when turning a job over to someone else!

Back from the doctors and doing school now. Brent has to have one more follow-up in three years (when he reaches puberty).

My boyfriend's aunt had cataract surgery and afterwards she said that she didnt know that that sort of surgery gave you wrinkles and made the hair on your legs grow. Haha. [IMG]

LOLOLOL When Jim had cataract surgery, he had to stay over 2 nights in the VA. I told him I had 2 days to lose 10 years and 10 lbs.

I don't have hair on MY legs and I sure hope I don't have any more wrinkles than you can see in my photo! YIKES!

I talked to the nurse at the Surgical Center today. They went over my history (none) and she told me the anesthesia would only relax me. I'd be awake to follow commands such as look to the left, look at the light, etc. First they'll dialate my eye and then will start an i.v. I'll be given the medicine to relax me and they'll wash the eye. I'll be taken to a room with a very comfy chair where surgery takes 10 - 20 mins. total. From there I'm taken to an upstage room where Nick and Jim will join me. I'll be given something to drink and will be roused from the relaxation meds. Then I can go home. Six hours later, I remove the bandage and use the drops 3 or 4 times before bed that night. No lifting, bending or strenuous stuff for a while. Not sure HOW long. The next day I go back to Rome, 3 hours total, just for a quick recheck.

Yes, my husband says the eye surgery chair is the best part. Your back will be in heaven!

Now if they only put those in MRI machines.....

Hopefully the meds will help you with the MRI, Debby! I don't like being closed in! Can you take your own CD? The dentist who did my root canal brought praise music for me to listen to. [IMG]

It is a beautiful day here in the Ozarks, although a little on the chilly side.

We had a great day at church yesterday. Had 4 young people saved in our services, plus have a senior in High School that was recently saved. So we have 5 to baptize in the next few weeks.

God seems to be moving and working in our peoples lives. It is exciting to see!

Hope everyone here is doing good!
