Well, it's up to 96 here. So much for the "high of 88". What do meteorologists know anyhow? WEATHERMEN!

MK, am praying concerning the MRI on Precious' lymph nodes. Remember, God is in control.

Cindi and I were posting at the same time so I missed the info about the MRI tonight. I sure will be praying!

Jim's still working and it's been over 48 hours so I'm sure he'll be fine. No extra swelling. Two summers ago he got stung 17 times when he ran over a ground nest of yellow jackets. None of them swole up like this one tho!

I just talked to MacKenzie's mom. She's covered in red dots and a few have teeny tiny white dots. She had her chickenpox vaccination but we both feel sure that's what this is. Mom's an RN. Poor kid has a big one right on the tip of her nose! She doesn't feel bad so that's good. I'll have them 11 hours tomorrow.

I got a new black ink cartridge for my computer through www.freecycle.org today. I had to drive 40 miles round trip but I get 31 mpg. so it cost me about $2.50. Last week I got racks for my d/w which saved me about $200.00~~

    Diane -
    Glad to hear about Jim.

I had chicken pox when I was 34, I believe. My daughter got them, and then two weeks later my son and I had them. We all had it BAD!!!! I had to tie socks on my son's hands. We missed the new vaccination by less than a year.

BTW, you are the best bargain hunter I know!!! [IMG]

Well, the Courier featured the interview I gave and the pictures they took on the Logan County FreeCycle group today. The picture of Brent laying on his 'freecycle' bed was really cute. I can't say the same for mine.

It was a great article and we've had 12 people join just this evening!

    Free + Recycle = Freecycle!

    Pleasant dreams all!

Speaing of pictures! One of my church members took some digital pictures of our "note burning" service held on July 10.

I would like to get them posted on the BB but I don't want to give away "Blackbird's" identity!! I forwarded them to our state baptist paper who will place them in the "church news" section!!

    Good nite, Sue!!

    Morning all:

It is 71 here right now, and was a bit cooler this morning. It began raining shortly after Vivian called before leaving work. The rain was HEAVY, and the winds were very, very strong. It was a needed rain, though. After the initial blast, the rain tapered off to a slow, steady rain that lasted for about an hour or so. The temps fell over 20 degrees in an hour as the front moved through, but rose nearly 15 degrees after it's entrance into the area. It is supposed to be a bit cooler today with more rain. I'm praying that it will be a good soaking rain. The ground needs it. The creek beds around here are going dry in some areas.

Vivian is supposed to be off tomorrow, so, Lord willing, we will be leaving around 10am for Louisville, KY. I'm not sure if I'm going to call my birth father and wife and my 1/2 siblings in the area or not. It's really a tough decision. I haven't seen my 1/2 sister in over 15 years, and my 1/2 brother I haven't seen in nearly 20 years. I haven't seen Jess (my birth dad) since he came and saw us for one day in 1996, and I've talked to him maybe 5 or six times since then. I just don't have much to say to these people. Please pray that God will give me a peace about what to do. This might be the last chance I have to see my birth father alive because of his poor health, but each meeting with him before has been disastrous and has gone to the pressure point nearly every time. I have witnessed to him, and he at times seems like he's interested in God, yet at others he's as cold hearted as Pharaoh with the Israelites. So, as far a being a Christian witness to him, my conscience is clear. As far as being respectful to my father, well, didn't my "father" die in June 2000 of cancer? I mean, this man who lives across the river from Louisville let the man I knew as my father adopt me because he didn't want the responsibility of dealing with my mother and trying to work out visitation. He abandoned me for over three years. Am I really obligated to do or feel anything towards him in consideration?

Sorry for the rant....it's just been heavy on me. Viv is the same as me...after losing her mother this month, to one degree she says to contact him...to another she says not to. I agree with her on both counts! [IMG]

Praise the Lord. Vivian's check was more than what we needed for the house payment! The Lord is good! We thought it was going to be less, but I had miscalculated. It was great to get onto the site and see her check's net as more than our house payment! PTL! [IMG]

Well, ya'll, I'm in some SERIOUS need of rest. I'll talk with ya later. Have a wonderful day if'n I'm not back on here!

    Good morning all!

It is a cool 59º here this morning. It's going to be sunny with a high of 81º. Beautiful weather!

The fence is up! Woo Hoo! It looks very nice, but it had to be sloped to fit the 'lay of the land'. Even so, I have always wanted one and I love it!

We are going to work in the yard today. I have a bush to plant and some landscaping tiles and mulch to put down.

Hopefully, we can get the roof fixed next week. It depends on when Dale's disability from work starts coming in. We haven't had a check for three weeks...

We had 13 new members join our local Freecycle group due to the article in the newspaper and that was all yesterday. We are hoping for many more!

    Cruising,

Kewl about the fence and the freecycle, Sue. I just tried to join the Bedford County one here. I'm still awaiting confirmation from them. Would like to be in Rutherford, Coffee and Cannon counties as well. We're close to six or seven different counties where we are located. Wonder how many we can be members of?

Just looking out the window this morning I see several tomato's turning red and many that are turning yellow and orangish in color. Some of the zucchini plants are still flowering, but nothing is really happening with them. I still have some jalapeno's coming in, though. Viv would like to can another ten or twelve quarts of maters before we redo the garden for the fall crops.

    Hi Tony,

It is up to each individual group owner whether to allow you to join several groups or not.

Ours does not allow cross-posting, but many of them do.
