BH is getting squirrely, it sounds!

Didn't get as much done as I wanted, so will finish...errr, start the kitchen after the girls are picked up.

I'm all impressed with my little containers of bulk items. It's like I'm all growed up now. [IMG] Flour, sugar, rice, seeds, beans. I'm just turning into Ma from Little House! Next thing you know I'll be grinding my own grain for the flour.

I also got my school books for this quarter. I'm so happy! They're ALL paperback and pretty thin. That will make lugging them around campus all day long sooo much easier. I am a bit scared of the fitness class. They might make me try to exercise or some other cruel and unusual expectation.

Hope everyone's having a good day!

Gina, I've done enough for both of us today, so just leave your kitchen be and do it tomorrow!

I have found that I really do still have a house under all the holiday clutter. So, now the wrapping paper is out from behind the recliner, the nativity has found it's resting place till next year and I almost have all the little pieces of garland vacuumed up that the cat shredded off the tree. I made the kids finally take all their loo--I mean presents--up to their rooms thus clearing out the dining room. Vacuumed up more garland. Picked up more Christmas balls out of corners where the cat had batted them. Cleaned and mopped the kitchen(after cleaning it just yesterday). Finally I did so many loads of laundry that I have lost count. Those are my next job. Before I can go to bed I have to sort out the mountain that is on it.

Oh and we spent two hours at karate this evening.

Yes, I know it's a church night. But there aren't any of the usual things going on tonight, except preaching, cause a good amount our off on the church's annual "youth" ski trip. And because our next two months are going extremely rough on our karate participation, we decided to take the opportunity and go tonight. Good things happened. The kids are all ready to test after tonight[makes my life easier]. And since we were the only folks at the junior class, I had the opportunity to invite thier new to the community instructor to our church. I'm thrilled that he is Baptist and more thrilled to hear that he is used to attending all services. This guy is young and single and takes himself to church 3 times a week. How cool is that?

I'm a little disapointed in myself that I didn't know much about our singles group, but I can fix that. One of our deacon's wives will be here tomorrow so I'll get that info from her. I'd send around one of our ministers but I'm not sure who isn't on this ski trip. I'll see to that next week. [IMG]

So where is everybody? Ya'll decide to houseclean in the evening instead of the morning? ;) [IMG]

This was a 'do-nothing' day and y'all are making me tired!

I think all three of us picked up a 24-hour flu bug someplace. Brent had it yesterday and I had it today (didn't eat anything at all). Dale came home from work with it and went right to bed. He hasn't been up since (not even for supper).

I had fixed a nice supper but no one felt like eating but Brent, so I put all of it in the fridge and Brent had corn dogs. So my supper is already fixed for tomorrow night.

Pleasant dreams all!

Well, dad picked up the grandkids and said he couldn't stay for supper so I sent supper home with them. Those kids ate nonstop all day long.

The kids are old enough to pickup and clean up and they do a good job, but i am still very tired. I'm ready for bed, but would like to see the rest of the National ChampionShip GAme.

CJ, do you hear me, I am yelling for Texas!

I hope they win!

I think we will be busy again tomorrow, but will stop in for something to drink and eat.

Good Night.

<< looking in refrigerator to see what Sue made.

hmmmm

Fried Okra, Tater Tots and Chicken Pot Pie. I'll just grab that and she will never notice I was here if I can just leave quietly enough.

On your computer, set up a new folder called "housecleaning".

Right click on the folder and click "delete".

Windows will ask, "Do you want to permanently remove housecleaning?"

Click "yes".

LOL CJ!

I deleted this evening laundry sorting! I had the kids put it all back in the baskets to do in the morning.

MK, we're awful lucky to have CJ here to help us out! I was wondering if I'd EVER finish that kitchen!

I forgot to pick up some stuff for my daughter's school project. Had to ask her to forgive me for the a-parent mistake. One day she'll be sitting in class and get that and start laughing. :D

Trying to hold back on the puns...but was tempted today. The door light in the car was left on and I was told so, along with the comment of "I don't relish the idea of a dead battery". My first thought was "yes, that would be quite a pickle". I refrained. See how good I can be? HMMM????

Good morning all,

Well, THAT was a short night!

Preacher, someone else must have left that food. I would never touch Okra, let alone cook it. YUCK! I left the peanut brittle, but you probably overlooked it because I hid it from BH.

It is in the low 30's this morning and will stay that way the rest of the week with a chance of freezing rain and snow each day.

After Brent's school work is done, we need to make a run to Aldi's. We are all out of fresh fruit. Then by Kroger's to pick up some meat (all I have left is chicken and ham).

I also need to run by the Post Office and buy some 2¢ stamps because first class letters will cost 39¢ after Sunday and I have 20 of the 37¢ stamps.

Putting fresh coffee on and baking cinnamon rolls,

Blessed morning all:

Sue, we're going to have to buy 2 cent stamps also. I don't know why, but it just happens that we have nearly one quarter of a roll of stamps left over. Guess I paid too many things online this past month!

Gina, glad to hear the little on is ok. Must have been quite a scare!

Vivian didn't have to go into work until 7:30am this morning. We were up at 3am, though, trying to finish getting an order together that needed to be out this morning at Dell for one of her customers!

It's supposed to be raining here sometime today with some flurries mixed in. It's 39 here now and quite windy!

Well, have a great day all and remember.....

Be good, Be kind, Be careful.

Good Morning Everyone!

Today is party day! (ya'll knew I had to have a reason to clean house, right?)

Son is 11 years old today! Instead of a party, he's decided to take 3 of his friends and go to B'ham for the day to the "big mall". We're going to eat lunch (maybe at Cici's), play in the arcade, and see what else we can find to get into. Think I'll survive the day with four 11 and 12 year old boys?

Tell Son Happy Birthday!

Brent will be 12 on January 11th. We are going to Springfield (about 35 miles away) so he can eat his FREE breakfast at Denny's.

Then we are going to Toys R Us. They sent him a small gift certificate for his birthday and are going to have a surprise for him.

I have no clue what it is, but I sure hope that giant giraffe doesn't come charging out at me! [IMG]

Good Morning, everyone!

I just wrote the most beautiful post and it disappeared! Well I posted that there were no fires this morning, but I just had not got the latest report. We have more FIRES!

I slept in this morning after the early, early long, long day yesterday. I just couldn't go to bed until the Horns won the national championship.

I was a Texan before I was an Okie so if Sooners can't be #1, then Texas can be #1.

Happy Birthday, Son. I have not read all the posts this morning. I will return to chat later.
Lots of errands to do today.

I have an unspoken prayer request for today. I would appreciate any prayer support.

Have a great day and take care!

Betty

That's great news Betty, and be assured you have people praying for you. (I wrote to you at first, lol! Wow...)

Lots of birthdays this month! Happy Birthday sons of Blessed and MK! Mandi's is the 12th, but no party this month. Her sister has one in Feb, and the other one in March, so we're going to do one big party. (our usual) We'll probably have it at the church and order a giant sub from Subway and have a DQ cake and some extra DQtreats. Our original idea was to just have it AT DQ, but the church seems like a better idea since we can be more free and have more people and organization.
Any ideas for games would be appreciated, or simply how to do it! We've always done one party, but never invited that many people, and this is going to be different.

At Brent's party last year, we played pin the nose on the snow man and Spider Web.

Are you having adults or just children and about how many? That makes a difference in the kind of games you play.

About how many? Hmm. Let me think.

It will be adults and children.

I'm assuming it might be about 20 kids, with the majority being in the 8-12 range, a few being little, a couple teens, and maybe 10 adults? The kids might be a few more.
It depends really on who all decides to come. Since it's in the church the church is invited and all their kids, but it's a very small church. I've told all three kids they could each invite 3 people from school, but more kids are asking to come as they overhear it being discussed, so the number could grow.

That sounds like a lot of people, but remember that this is for all three kids, and that they didn't get to have one at ALL last year, and this will be the first one with more than a couple people.

Well, except for that one time when my daughter made invitations and gave them out without telling me. That one was kinda big. And unexpected. LOL I think we had about 10 kids and all their mommies! I still am thankful the house was clean when they started showing up!

At the end of the party, you can gather all the kids and have them play one last game.

Remember the first game Mary Poppins played with Jane and Michael Banks?

'Well Begun Is Half Done'

In other words, 'Let's tidy up the nursery (or room in this case)'
