    Good morning all:

It was a shock to hear that the BB had been sold. I hope the changes will not be drastic. This place has been somewhat of a haven or second home to some of us.

With that said, it's a very wet 43 degrees. Vivian started out at 3am this morning and had to back back up the road to home. The creek down the road was flooded on our road, so that means the other road was covered as well. We're flooded in. We've gotten several inches of rain, and our yard is flooded, as are all of the neighbors yards. It's been a hard day already.

We're not going to go back to bed, though. We decided to stay up since going back to bed would throw me off. Weekends always do, and now, it's a week day, and I don't want to be m omre "off" than I already am....no comments from the "peanut gallery" please! ;)

Hope all is well with everyone else.

Be good, Be kind, Be careful.

    Good Morning, AVL!

It rained ALL night here so I am 100% sure that my yard is flooded as well. Of course, it is still dark here, but I can look out my window and see ripples of water crossing the yard. Scary, actually. If you use your imagination, you can pretend you are on a ship until sunrise, lol.

Scar, I used to live in Monroe and West Monroe. I have lived all over NE Louisiana. I attended both Riser and Jack Hayes Elementary Schools. You are a teacher, right? (I am currently a Freshmen at Franklin Parish High School.)

Heads up...coffee and breakfast is coming your way!

    Good morning Tony and Shane,

It is 27º right now and foggy, but it should get up to the high 30's by this afternoon.

Guys, is it getting to the point that you may have to evacuate? Are either of you expecting more rain today?

Brent is home from WI safe and sound. He got home around 11:00 last night and he was tired. I usually get him up at 7:00, but I'm going to let him sleep in this morning.

    Thanks for the breakfast, Shane!

Why thank you Shane! Keep it up and I'm going to have to adopt you. [IMG]

Sue, good morning! Who IS that masked man? We've never had a new owner here, we're trusting you to set the standard here for the initiation ceremony. Tomatos? Apples? What DO we throw?

Dan, howdy. NY feels so far away now. Wow.

Barnabas, I did read your post about your church. That's great news! It does sound familiar now that you say it, so I'm assuming you probably told me a few times already and I forgot. Sounds like me!

I'm up early because my youngest wanted me to sleep with her, and the oldest had her watch set to 6am. It woke me up immediately, but she didn't budge and still hasn't.
Remind me not to sleep in there anymore. LOL

I'm gonna try to rush and get in with the doctor, my insurance ends in a week. Unless I get pregnant. I'm thinking no! EKE! My right knee, hip, and lower back have been screaming at me, making me creak and pop like an old lady. Go ahead and say it, I DARE YOU!
So, I'm hoping she'll be kind enough to order a pretty good amount of refills on anti-inflammatories. I quit taking them because my belly was hurting, but I'm realizing it's really worth the trade-off.

Ok, let's see if I can actually make it to my classes BEFORE they start today! That ought to impress everyone.

padre enters stage left and takes his mark. He turns and looks toward the left coast. With a slight hesitation, padre clears his throat and exclaims, "It, I DARE YOU!"

So Gina what was so hard about that? [IMG]

It is somewhere between 50 and raining and 30 and snowing. I can't tell which because I haven't been outside in over 10 minutes. Of course, if it 50 and raining it might very well hit 30 and snowing by the time I get my boots on. Then by the time I slip into my coat it'll be 30 and snowing again.

    Hi Dan! [IMG]

Yes, I'm all better now. I took your advice, turned down the thermostat and used my own heat. It saved quite a bit of money on the utility bill. [IMG]

I would suggest throwing [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] at this point. [IMG] [IMG]

I took a few days off, and the place gets sold!!!

I will miss the webmaster, hope this place doesn't change too much.

    Pappy sez....
Scary, actually. If you use your imagination, you can pretend you are on a ship until sunrise, lol.

I used to do that, as well. I even put on a newspaper pirate hat, and had some socks on my shoulder pretending to be my parrot, an eye patch,...aaarrrrggghh, matey!!!!!! (My parents wouldn't let me drink coffee until I graduated high school.)

It's still snowing, going on three weeks, over 6' on the local mountains, the skiing is fantastic, and life is good.

Sue, good to see yer feeling better.

    Hi, all!

Quick update on my dad's leukemia--he has been diagnosed with CLL, which is a very slow progressing type of the disease. The doc said he could live many years without any treatment. We are very thankful for that! If you have to get leukemia, I guess this is better that the other kinds. He is in Stage I, so hopefully we will have him with us for many more years. [IMG]

    Thanks for all your prayers!

Gwen,....(golly!)...I know that leukemia is a nightmare, but at least it is stage 1 and the doctor has given him a very good prognosis and without treatment.

I do believe, however, that we should continue to pray for his total and complete healing! [IMG] [IMG]

    Peace-

    Hi folks,
    Bad-gold-fish-keeper here. :D

Bro Jim, was the link you posted about fish keeping? I clicked and it said the site no longer existed.
We have a 1-gallon tank that does have an oxygen pump. How it's air outlet (the Bubbles) is right on top of the water.
Do y'all think if I cut the tube to place it further under the water would help? I'd like to keep a fish alive in there for more than a week-and-a half!
We had our Missions Conference From Wed night till Sun morning. It's nice to meet and talk to God's servants.
One family is on their way to Krygyzstan. Part of the former Soviet Union, and on the northwest border of China.

Thanks, Scarlett! We are praying for healing and for his peace. He was really scared when they first diagnosed him. He found out by accident--routine appt. at the doc and the bloodwork was suspicious.

Thanks for your prayers! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Gayla,

My favorite part of church has always been the Missions Conference. My family hosted missionaries that spoke in our church when I was growing up. I have wonderful memories of sitting in the family room and hearing missionaries tell stories of their adventures all over the world. It had a deep impact on me.

    Thanks, Bro. Curtis!

Gwen, so glad to hear your dad's good prognosis!

I just finished making banana pudding with merangue - ALL FROM SCRATCH (I usually use a boxed pudding).

It will be scrumptious for supper!

Off to do a couple loads of laundry...

Gayla, Yes the site was about goldfish keeping in particular. I retried the site and it opened for me.

I would suggest the bubbles should come up through the water in order to dispense the oxygen.

All the best. When we had the outdoor pool, the water froze over the top and the fish went into a dormant period...which they need...near the bottom of the pool and in a little tunnel shap at one end of pool. Our fish survived for 8 or 9 years, can't remember now. We gave it up to do repairs and remodelling,,,,which never got done........

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Sue-

My Dad LOVES homemade banana pudding!

I go to my folk's house every Sunday after church and the SAME conversation goes on between my Dad and my Mom (the beauty queen).

When everyone is finishing with their meal....

Dad: (with a pretend scowl on his face) "Where's the banana pudding?"

Mom: (with a pretend sarcastic face) "Oh!...did YOU make one??"

Then they just laugh at each other.

EVERY cotton-picking week this same conversation takes place. They still laugh and "coo" at each other over it. Me....after thousands of times of hearing it, I'm a little tired of it.

But I say nothing....I know that there will come a day when there is no family home to go to on Sundays and that I will long to hear them say it.

    Peace-
    Scarlett O.

    Hello All,
Well me & my honey spent the day in Greensboro checking on our future hopes.Went to a dozen different complexes with 2 or 3 good prospects. Had a good time though just being with each other. She actually went to the GoodWill & didn't buy anything.
If we can figure a way to get our insurance this week we can get one complex that is huge. They require 1 million in liability, I'm checking on it tomorrow after work. She's worried about me having to miss work firday too to meet with the folks at the apts. but I have to be there or just forget about it. I'm not concerned about it but she frets over these things & will I guess till we;re up & running pretty good.
I think BH is under my chair playing beaver. I'll know if it starts tilting one way!!! It's an old chair anyway.
Well just wanted to check in , & Sue, chocolate ain't bad for ya...it's the calories that are!! :D
