Gwen, I still read them and get tempted by times,,,then, I bite my tongue and recite prayer no 324 in the Book of Common Prayer...."smile"

To be honest, in all my years as a Baptist minister, I never saw so much backbiting and argumentation, as happens here lately.

It is nice to have this refuge.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Hold it! I am not trying to win converts...I could get banned,,lol

I don't post on the debate forums often. I just lurk around. [IMG] Some of the posts are toooo scary! I think they feel safe since there is no face to face confrontation.

I don't mind a good debate. My son was on the high school debate team, and I have judged debates on the National level. But what I have been seeing is not debating issues and ideas, but personal attacks. Not cool!

Yes, I agree. This is a nice refuge.

    Good morning all,

It is cool and raining again today. I won't be going out. I still have the kitchen to put back together...

I have been giving things away on FreeCycle as I 'declutter' my cabinets. I picked up a nice fern and two cacti off of FreeCycle yesterday evening. They need some TLC but I think they will be fine.

    Time for coffee,

There is this big yellow thing hanging in the sky over the Niagara Frontier. I'm not quite sure what it is but it makes your eyes water to look at it. madre said it was the sun but we haven't seen hide nor hair of that since last fall.....

100% chance of mud today. Blackbird will be singing, "Bringing in the Sheaves" long before we get to put the plowshare to the soil....

What I see as I walk my fields is not mud, but how dry the soil is. We just didn't get the snow this past winter and I fear it may be another difficult year for the farmers of Eastern Ontario.

The sun is brilliant again to-day and the temperature quite moderate. It is almost time to get a haircut, but I can't decide which hair to cut.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Just let it grow, Jim. [IMG]

We are welcoming the rain also. We didn't get enough snow to offset the drought of last year and it doesn't look good for this year's crops either.

Last year, our state was declared a disaster area because of the severe drought. The farmer's got no crops at all...

Thanks for the donuts, Ron. Just what I need. [IMG]

You probably misunderstood, Jim. They were probably calling you the "happy vicar"...

You're not going to yield to peer pressure are you? ;)

    Afternoon All,

Jim, my Agee cuts my hair...she don't even wear her glasses...just grabs the lectric shears & tells me to sit very very still!
I didn't fall off no ladder, but my legs & feet are hurtin from crawlin around in the attic to finally fix the box for the cieling fan. These bones just can't squat & balance on joists like they used to!

Start a temp job tomorrow nite,10 hr shifts, so if BH don't make it in it's Agee's fault!! I'll be in in time to pick her up & go to bed. But at least I'll be making some of that, er uh mmmm, oh yeah...money!!
Agee gave BH another bath last nite, & instead of dunkin her she just turned on the spicket & put her under it,...& again she seemed to love it!
She's molting now, & I learned she likes to be combed too! Yeah I know some of yuns will go oh well...but it still amazes me.

Preacher, when we had our pet squirrel (Chipper) I used to bathe her under the spigot. She would be very still and let me bathe her. Best pet we ever had, that squirrel! She'd do anything for a Famous Amos chocolate chip cookie!

Bitsy, I just made a pot of tea. You're welcome to a cup!

Well, Bitsy, I drank the whole pot! But I'll make more. Do you like scones? I have some Apricot White Chocolate Walnut scones fresh from the oven, and I have lemon curd to go with them.

Hope you enjoyed your nap. [IMG] BTW, I think I found a place for the Rehearsal Dinner. It's a lovely old house in downtown Macon. I will be much releaved if we can get it booked!

Well, I didn't get any tea, scones OR a nap! I am so tired and sore that I am going to bed shortly after Brent does (8:00).

That bed, with a good mystery book, is going to feel gooooooood tonight!

    Pleasant dreams all!

Enjoy your book Sue! I love a good mystery (or a bad one that helps me sleep!)

Gwen -- I'll make more tea -- you bring the scones. Those sound WONDERFUL!

We tried Padre's idea with the $500 and the ladder. Joe wouldn't take it. Tell us more about the place when you get it for sure.

Our rehearsal dinner was at the fellowship hall of the church. My mother-in-law did a fabulous job--all homecooked food, served on real china, with crystal and silver. She even formed the potato salad into the shape of a wedding cake.

I don't want to work that hard. Mazzio's Pizza sounds good!

I am posting the recipe for the scones on the Recipe Thread. Hope you like 'em.
