    Good morning all,

I had the best night's sleep I've had for about two weeks. It was wonderful!!!

Sorry to hear BH is feeling poorly. I'm with Jim, do some googling. You might even find a group of squirrel owners who could give you some answers.

It's going to be another nice day, but a little warmer. I think the high will be around 86º. Brent mowed yesterday, but didn't get all the trimming done. He has some weeds to pull too. I get too out of breath doing those things anymore and I used to love to do them.

My flowers have been sadly neglected too. Oh well, maybe next year...

    Time for coffee,

    Good Morning Everyone!

I'm up early because T has an early meeting. Been up since 5:30, pretty much a record here since school ended. Glad I went to sleep early last night.

I've started bits and pieces here and there. I was considering sneaking back to bed after T leaves, but now I'm to wide awake. To sore to clean out the garage so I'll probably go back to peeling wall paper. It'd be nice to get it all down so I could start fixing the walls and choosing paint colors. I started this project without a color scheme. I just wanted rid of that wallpaper!

Sue, don't feel bad, as a person with a black thumb, I understand all about neglected flowers. So far this year, I've managed to kill a rose bush and the dahlias I planted didn't bother to come up. Oh well, at least my daylillies were pretty this year! Pretty much if it can't grow itself, it won't be growing in my yard. I've even managed to kill some of the grass!

Ya'll have a good day. I'm going to finish my cup of coffee and get to this wallpaper. T is threatening to call someone in to finish taking it down and ya'll know I'm far to stingy for that!

    Morning all:

It's been a long night, and even longer morning. Viv and I were up at 2:30am..and hour earlier than necessary. It just seemed strange in the house for some reason. When I came out of the bedroom, the light in the living room was on, and one in the spare bedroom. This was strange, because last night, these both were off when we went to bed. The power hadn't gone out, and there wasn't a power surge. I thought at about 1am that I had heard someone moving around, but didn't know if I was dreaming or not. At any rate, the doors were all locked..both the lock and the deadbolt. It was strange to say the least. Nothing was missing. The only thing I could see that was out of place was a chair at the table and some papers on the kitchen table. I thought for a few minutes that maybe I was dreaming it all, but I wasn't.

No overtime for Viv this weekend. Maybe now we can get some things done. One of my sisters in Augusta is coming up with her hubby next week to bring me a piano that has been in my family for 60 years. That'll be nice. I've wanted another piano since we had to leave ours in Illinois when we moved here. My BIL is going to a race on Saturday at the Nashville Speedway. My sis is just going to stay home with Viv and me. Of course, my BIL's brother is coming up from Alabama to go to the race with him. Then they'll all be going home on Sunday Morning.

Haven't had much time to stop in and post. I miss it, but, there's a lot going on right now, and a lot of things to get done. Hope all is well.

Be good, Be kind, Be careful

That really is weird, Tony. Maybe you should check your windows and make sure all of them are locked. I'm constantly finding windows unlocked, usually the dining room or the kitchen, but sometimes the bedrooms. Sometimes it's the kids that do it, sometimes it's me cleaning out in between the glass and screen (stupid spiders) and then I just forget to relock them. And the back french doors are almost always unlocked. But then again, I have two big wolf looking dogs right outside them.

Well, two hours of work later and I still have wallpaper to peel! And oh my goodness at the mess I found underneath some of it over the shower! Sometime or another the papar must have started to peel and elmer's didn't work so they put up a piece of molding in that area to hold it down. Black, nasty mold was up under that molding. Not to mention that the plaster is cracked, chipped and otherwise completely ruined in that area. I'm hoping the wallboard itself is okay, but I haven't got that far. Once I get this stuff down it'll take the rest of the day to fix the walls. Maybe I'll get to paint Monday.

Oh, and it appears that whoever did the blown in ceiling didn't primer the wallboard before. I have a spot about as big as my hand that has completely come loose from the ceiling leaving the bare wall board behind.

We occupied one parsonage, which had been built in 1830. The walls for 3 feet thick, stone. I swear the first layer of wallpaper was put over walls back then, and five layers later.............Thankfully they used home-made paste in those days and hot water did the job, but it still wasn't easy.

We don't even have locks on our doors where we live. It is so nice to be able to leave home, even for two weeks when we go to the UK, and not trouble about house.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Well it's down! Yes! I need Sue's dancing banana!

Now to wash the rest of the glue off the walls and find the spackle so I can repair what they "fixed". I've discovered that not only was the ceiling not primered but the walls weren't either.

Ohh, stone walls! I bet those were nice once the paper was off!

Jim...thanks for the herbal idea. My brain's been so rattled lately just can't think straight. a few troubles on the homefront, then this. I know you don't care for wild squirrrels, but BH helps calm me down on bad days.
Have a bunch of runnin around to do today but I'll check on some sites when I get done. She seems to be more herself today...even wanted to fight, thats usually a good sign. Vets around this area won't even give advice on wildlife, & the rehabbers will say put her to sleep, so I just do the best I can. As long as she's not in pain I'll continue to keep her.
I will try Sue's idea too about checking other squirrel sites. The one's Ive tried before weren't any help but there are others.
Well, gotta run & take Agee to get her check, then hopefully go to G'boro to pick up an old riding mower, & mabey a surround sound system from Freecyclers!
Check back in when I have time...Thanks Again All!

Preacher....I know that I speak harshly about the squirrels around my place, but I would never willfully harm them, or they would be dead by now.

This site is just talking about courses around the countryside, but interestingly they talk about homeopathic care for wild animals, and they do mention squirrels. I would suggest there are sites somewhere that will discuss treatment for squirrels if you search.

Back Home for a few minutes,
Thanks Jim, I sent an e-mail off to see if mabey someone there can help. I found out my wife has been giving her more fruit lately, so I'm hoping it's sorta like a sugar overload or something. I told her no more till we figure this out. I try to feed her things that she would find in the wild, which would include fruit but being homeraised she can be a pig sometimes instead of a squirrel!
Actually, a deleima like yours is how I wound up with her, ...squirrels in an attic.
Once the babies were removed the momma left ,...in this case. And I can understand putting homefront first....no matter what the animal.
Well gotta run again, but thanks for the effort!!! I do appreciate it!!

Hi folks! Feel like forever since I've been here.

I'm about ready for bed again. Trying to fight it because I wanted to do a few things, but it isn't gonna work.

The girls got their SAT scores. They all did great, so I took them for the promised present. They each got a pair of new shoes (needed them anyhow) and then I took them to a gift shop. Two of them got really cute china tea sets that came in very nice container baskets. The other chose a very nice gold edged - tea cup, saucer, and silver spoon that has her birth month on it. Very pretty!

One of the children scored PHS (post-high school) on 12 out of the 16 subjects. The other four subjects were scored between 10 and 12.8 Not too shabby for an elementary aged student!

    Good morning all,

Well, I got a lot of overdue chores accomplished yesterday and I think I may have overdone it, but I sure did sleep good last night!!!

This morning around 6:00, I started my walking routine. Brent made me promise to wake him up so he could walk with me and push my oxygen tank - and be close at hand should I need help.

It took me 18 minutes just to walk around the block! I am not discouraged though because I knew it would be a slow process. I am praising God because I didn't have to use the oxygen! :praise:

I plan on walking early morning and late evening. I will be doing foot races one of these days!!!

Grandpa is taking Brent to a church in Springfield tonight, to hear Judge Roy Moore speak. It should be interesting for both of them. I am going to do some 'googling' and print out a sheet for Brent to read so he will have some background on him.

    Good Afternoon All,

I got the grass cut last night and lots of chores done around the house. Saturday is the only day I get to "cool it", hallelujah!

That would be interesting to hear Judge Roy Moore; I know Brent will enjoy it.

    Have a great Saturday everyone!

    Afternoon All,
Haven't found anything helpful for BH yet...but thanks for the info. She seems to be doing ok so mabey it's nothing serious. I tols Agee no more fruit for awhile incase it's just too much sugar.
Nice here today, supposed to be 85 but if the humidity will stay down I can deal with that. Got a bunch of work yet to do outside. Haven't been feelin too great myself the past couple of days so gotta make up for the slack!
Go in monday to do the paperwork for my route. But don't get to start till the 1st of Aug. Hopefully I can pick up more A/C's to keep a little "pocket money". That stuff comes in handy sometimes!!
Welp, I'll pop in & out,...as usual! Have a Blessed Day!!

    Sue,
How long do you have to keep using the oxygen tank?

Karen, I am using the oxygen tank and Nebulizer for COPD. I haven't needed the oxygen for about 10 days, but then I haven't been exerting either.

I guess I will no longer need it when my performance gets back up to where I can do things and breathe without it. This morning was a start...

Right now, the doctor just wants me to have it close at hand.

    Thank you!

I'm planning on walking everyday - early morning and late evening, weather permitting.

I don't want to be stuck with this tank any longer than I have to!!!

    Hey guys!

Ron and I took a spur of the moment trip to see the Braves and then we stopped off in Hilton Head for a couple of days! Lots of driving, but lots of fun. It's gonna take me a bit to get caught up I can tell
