I think the Holy Spirit has been faulted for a lot of human foolishness. It is easy to fluff off using one's noodles to determine what is the right way and what is the wrong way of doing things. We just say the Holy Spirit will guide us.

I am not denying the work of the Holy Spirit in guiding us through life as we yield to God's will and purpose in our life. I also think that God gave us intelligence to work out our own destination and purpose in life, within the confines of clear scriptural direction.

There are many areas in life that remain up in the air, and we must make intelligent decisions. If our life is in tune with God by daily prayer and meditation, there is no reason for our brain not to follow God's plan for our lives.

Sometimes this includes emotionalism. It also includes clear mental attitudes based on concrete world-based situations. We ought not to lightly dismiss our own feelings and our own intellectual acuity in either giving direction or taking directions.

    Cheers,

    Jim
