    Basically people stopped thinking in terms of individualism, one of the main ingredients our founding fathers understood to be essential in a free society and started thinking in terms of collectivism.

    G. Edward Griffin does a good job (imho) of explaining how this all came about in his book "Future Calling" that can be found and read online... HERE.

    In other words we've forgot what our founders were telling us and developed a bad case of "stinkin thinkin". It isn't just the lefties that are infected with this 'reasoning' anymore either.
