Comparisons Between the ESV & NASU

About 4 years ago I began to compare the wording between the ESV and NASU . At that time the ESV was my favorite translation . I have many pages , so I will just take my time here .

Psalm 86 has 17 verses . Seven of the passages were almost the same .

1 -- ESV poor ; NASU afflicted

3 -- ESV adds the word do

4 -- ESV adds do. ESV -- gladden : NASU -- make glad

7 -- NASU adds shall and will

8 -- ESV none ; NASU no one

10 -- ESV --things ; NASU -- deeds


11 -- ESV -- that I may ; NASU -- I will


Chaper 87 has 7 verses . Three are basically the same .

2 -- ESV adds the word other

3 --The words are identical -- just altered in sequence

5 -- ESV -- and -- for
NASU -- But -- and

Chapter 88 has 18 verses . Two are similar .

14 --ESV cast my soul away
NASU reject my soul

 

For my convenience an E will mean the ESV , and the N will signify the NASU .

Psalm 89 has 52 verses . Eighteen of them are just about the same or identcal .
