Costly Grace -- is it lacking in churches during our time

    I hear little about what it will cost a person to follow Christ from my tradition ... Baptist. But Christ never promised an easy life if we follow him. Costly grace ... as D. Bonhoeffer said following Christ may be costly, it may cost you your life. What say ye about costly grace? This quote if from Bonhoeffer's book, "The Cost of Discipleship".

    Free grace is the most costly grace there can be, costing Jesus His life.

    Trying to add ANY works to it insults Him, imho.

    It is missing, indeed, and it's a travesty.

    And some of those here who think they're so doctrinally sound are the worst perpetrators.
