My first impressions of this church being held in a nightclub was to be disappointed.

Here is the BBC News link for you to look at: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/south_east/6484605.stm

However, my disapproving frown changed to a smile when I saw the launch date: April 1st. :) http://www.ararat.org.uk/solacechurchinabar.htm

Now, I am old fashioned, I am conservative, to my mind relevance is one thing, church in a night club is another. Like the "minister" behind this I am 26 years old and have obviously come to a different conclusion on many matters.

But at the end of the day, April Fools Day is probably not the wisest choice for launching something this controversial.

I have no doubt that this is real given the state of England's spiritual decay over the last century or so. Two things that just absolutely jump out at me and make me fear that this may catch on is this:

    1. The Bar will be open during services!

    2. This 'minister' is inviting a pluralality of opinion! Can anyone say trainwrecked theology on the way, worse than what we have now when combined with number one?

While I am all about throwing out tradition every chance that we get, this has just crossed a line that cannot be supported in Scripture. But then again, we are talking about the Anglican Church.

    Nightclub

Nothing as long as you do not encourage your members to partake in the activites of the nightclub that are in conflict with the Word of God.
