Then bless your heart, let me type a little slower. The conviction was that I needed to SEPARATE from the folks that are up there, and that wrestleing (arguing) with a pig, so to speak, wasn't getting nowhere. I'm sure you know the ol' saying....Don't get in the mud and wrestle with a pig, cause the pig loves it, and you just get muddy. I stand behind everything I said....God didn't convict me of that at all! The only problem between me and you is, we both think we know who the pig is. [IMG]

Maybe I need to type a little slower too.
How...were...you...confrontational...if...not...in...what...you...said? Were you confrontational by waving your hands? By jumping up and down?

Above, you said the "wrestleing" was "arguing". Did you not say anything when you argued? Is not words the ONLY way in which you were involved in the discussion??? It's certainly the only thing all of us saw, and it's certainly the only way we saw you being confrontational.

Thanks for the injection of some light, SheEagle. [IMG] Sorry for getting sidetracked, I'll let it rest. It's obvious what's going on anyway. ;)

Agreed. And anyone who thinks you can't rebuke someone sharply while exhibiting a gentle and humble spirit never met my elementary school principal.

My point is really just this: There is a balance we ought to be striving for. A tightrope we are walking with mean spiritedness on the one side and milquetoast on the other.

Remember too, we are not Jesus, and we don't always know what is in someone's heart, so we need to be careful in what we say about other people's character.

    Brian,
This will be my last post to you on this subject....

Let's see; I was convicted of associating with people that teach false doctrine. Now before your feelings are hurt, I didn't say you, I madr that as generic as I can.(BTW, if you don't agree there is a lot of false doctrine being spewed there, we really have no common ground to discuss this further). That was conviction number one.
Conviction number two was; that I stayed too long, and that it wasn't edifying to anyone. I just pray some lost person, wasn't there "lurking"! The good Lord definitely took me to the woodshed for that. However, nothing I said was false, just in my gruff way, I don't alwys say things with a lot of sugar on them. If I hurt your feelings by the way I said some things, than I do apologize. But please, have a bit of integrity, and honestly say whether you took the advice that I gave. Did you prayerfully read what I said? Or did you just jump to the offensive immediately? And please go back and review the post prior to when I "went off"; would you say the folks there were acting in a Godly manner? Why is it some people can say anything they want, but when they are hit with their the ones that cry the loudest? BTW, I went back and read several of you post, not pertaining to this incident, and often they were thought provoking and entertaining....but, unfortunately, you sir are very quick to get confrontational. I, like you, am over this. If we can't get along, so be it. But let's just leave it alone. Of course, I yield too you the last word. Unless you want to discuss this further by PM....if I can figure out how to work it.

You were the one doing the main trashing and re-enforcing stereotypes of us. You were even challenging moderators. Great example.

If 10 people of a certain group slapped you each time they walked by you would you be stereotyping them if you went to the other side of the street when the 11th approached you or using sound judgment. Indeed, he may be the first one to not slap you, but your face may still be stinging from the last one and you do not want to take the chance. If the only Liberals you have ever met were of the "stereotype" brand would it not be hard to think the next one you met was any different? Stereotypes are usually general traits and hence perception is based on those traits. Kilts. Lederhosen. Watches. Sushi. Did you think Poles wore kilts or Kenyans wore lederhosen? Nope, but do all Scots wear kilts and all Germans wear lederhosen? No, but those things are tied to those nationalities. Since Liberalism is tied to many many things then when you call yourself a Liberal those things will attach themselves to you and you have to prove you are different. There are nuts that call themselves Fundamentalists that I wish would choose another name because I get saddled with their junk, It is a risk of business so to speak and you deal with it. I suggest you do the same. You are known by your company and I would rather be associated with the nuts on the far Right than the ones on the Left. Just rememebr that Right is right and Left isn't and you will do well. ;)

OOOOOOOOOKKKKKKKKK. SBG went to the "other" forum to intentionally bait and mock as an easy reading of the posts will show. If they came over here and did the same thing, there would be a great outcry. Why don't we just follow our own suggestions? You know - love, respect and rebuke with humility. An arrogant and condescending attitude is not "Right". Also, challenging a moderator should receive an admonishment at a minimum, no matter your opinion of him.

Optional please accept this as constructive critism. I want to step in and defend SBG on some of this. I don't know if enough evidence has been given to brand him arrogant. Here's why, #1 He is a course talker and we can't positively say that his posts have been malicious or just in need of refinement. #2 If you went to the other forum to notice his challenging of a moderator you should have seen my rebuke of his post in that thread, you also should have noticed that I also asked him to clean up his words in another thread yesterday. What am I trying to say, simply that he was admonished and by the way why not notice that the admonishment had already been issued and drop it, and that my respect for him grew greatly in that even a day after my rebuke of his post he hasn't attacked me, I appreciate that.

    Hi Murph,
I don't believe there's any such thing as constructive criticism. It's all criticism.
However, I will take your post in the spirit you meant it. [IMG]
