In my opinion, that is one SUPREMELY ignorant pastor.

He is correct that Jesus may not have directly said anthing about homosexuality, but we dont heed the the words of Jesus exclusively. We read, and heed, the entirety of the scriptures.

And the scriptures clearly condemn homosexuality.

We should of course be civil and kind with homosexuals, and treat them respectfully.

But we should and MUST speak the truth about Gods condemnation of the sin of homosexuality. And oviously that applies to same sex mariage

Not to mention what Jesus DID say about sexual relations and marriage. It was clear that He didn't need to address the negative because of what He addressed in the positive.

Sad that a pastor would use the pulpit for political grandstanding.

It does NOT matter if jesus directly addressed this issue, for he did already in OT passages, and His Apsotles were inspired to write about it, so its SAME as if jesus said it!

Hopefully that church will have enough snap to run that guy off.

I know the Pastor and am not surprised. There is a lot of Black Theology which has permeated the Afriacn-American Baptist circles. This is an example of the socialism aspect working itself out.

Along these lines it was curious that this last weekend (I think) CNN.com ran a story on their front page of a UCC pastor (African-American) who embraced same-sex marriage and had lost 2/3 of his congregation over it. Basically CNN only reported his side and helped him make an impassioned plea for $200,000 to keep his (empty) church running. Pretty sad that they can do this and still expect to be called fair.

These people deserve to lose their congregants. They deserve to lose their pulpits. They should be run out of town on a rail. They defy the Scriptures and mock God's Word. To shame.
