I don't know anything about David Wilkerson, but even I could make a statement like that and sooner or later it will come true. If this really is a true word from God, then maybe he'll tell us about when, or at least where.

    Kinda' vague.

Been hearing stuff like this since I was old enough to remember. Anyone can say anything is from God.

Ever notice how some of these men as they get older they get bolder and more and more careless while being more and more focused on self.

I agree, and no one seems to hold them accountable. They just go on making new predictions to a new audience selling new books. (see the JR Church thread). The sad thing is many who are aware of the falsehoods don't seem to mind continuing to support them.

A calamity has happened. This false teacher has claimed to predict the future.

    Urgent Message From Paul Washer

I have been hearing a lot lately from preachers about judgement and I believe it is coming.

Dave Wilkerson has also recently rebuked and condemned the practices of the Wof and Pentecostal manifestations in tears. Whether he is speaking because of the burden put on his soul to warn God's people or not, I cannot be a judge. For those of you who are accusing him of false teaching, please give evidence as we are not to bring an accusation against a man of God unless we do.

For others who know the biblical teachings of that amazing Baptist missionary, Paul Washer, you will be surprised to see this. And, I am NOT Pentecostal, nor do I subscribe to the ranting of modern day prophets, but I can't discount that the Holy Spirit can speak to us today, sometimes by an urgency in our souls. We need to be able to discern. Please watch:

A mite 'alarmist' and 'sensationalistic' doncha' think??

Wonder why he is the only one to be "compelled by the Holy Spirit to send out an urgent message" on this particular thing, being as I have seen it nowhere else?

God is sovereign. He has warned us in several parts of the Bible of past and future judgements. Each believer has the Holy Spirit in him or her. I fail to understand why any Christian would believe the nonsense put out by these two. We have as much Holy Spirit as they do. If that is God's timing, then so be it as He is in control. The last thing we need is a couple of chicken little, the sky is falling nut cases screaming from the mountain top.

As far as Paul Washer goes, he has been to our church before, and to put it nicely, I doubt he will be back.

Seems to me that if The Holy Spirit gave David Wilkerson the warning, you'd think he would also tell him what the calamity was going to be.

I think Isaiah and Jeremiah got fairly specific, didn't they.

Yes. The prophecy Mr. Wilkerson gave sounds more like a psychic. Broad and vague.

God already gave us all the warning we need in His word.

I do not believe in modern day prophets.

What do you mean? Was he visiting or preaching? If his preaching turned folks off maybe that means they were in the wrong -- not vice versa.

That is baloney. Our church is mostly elderly members, as far as I know God fearing, Christ-like people. For some to get in front of the congregation, and do nothing but put members down for no reason or the work of the church is not what is needed. He came across as a self centered, attention getter, with no evidence of the love of God. Like I said, he will not be back, and that is being nice about it.

Around twenty years ago I read a book (can't remember the title) by David Wilkerson suggesting that an economic calamity was soon to hit the United States and it was going to be very very bad. And, while the economy isn't fairing too well right now I would not say that it is a calamity. Needless to say, I don't put too much stock into Wilkerson's prophetic proclamations. He probably needs to stick to preaching and teaching the Word and stay away from prophecy.

I thought they were pretty specific.

Well, I would say that the state of the economy is very much a calamity. I am not even saying that Mr. Wilkerson is correct on his specific warning, but I certainly do not discount it. When I hear a conservative Baptist preacher like Paul Washer echo the same words, I will not discount it. Time will tell (the test of any prophetic words.)
