    Ed Edwards and Ituttut,

THE LAST DAY – DAY OF VENGEANCE AND WRATH

When the Court “sits” in Daniel 7 and Seal 7, “the times of the Gentiles are finished. The DAYS of Vengeance and Wrath upon THIS PEOPLE” (since AD 70) have ended. Luke 21:22-24. The Gentile armies will have gathered to the plains of Armageddon and the Son of Man will have (symbolically) reaped them to the “winepress of God’s great anger”. And Jesus will have just rescued 144,000 Jews from Mt. Zion and taken them to heaven on the Last Day. Rev.14:1-20. I believe verse 20 anticipates the slaughter in very short order ... with about a half Hour for the Court to sit in Judgment on the Beast and his killing of a third of
mankind in the 6th Trumpet that has just "passed"! Rev.11:14.

Paul contrasts this *DAY of Vengeance and Wrath* with Luke’s *DAYS of Vengeance and Wrath*. God’s wrath on this people (Israel) is finished as of this DAY, the Last Day of “Gentile Times”. Luke 21:22-24; 2 Thess.1:6-10.

The Day of the Lord is a Single 12-Hour-Day. The popular view has been wrongfully expanded to include Daniel’s 70th Seven!

The subtle reason for increasing the “great and glorious Day of the Lord” at Pentecost (Acts 2:20; or the terrible Day at the end of the Age, Joel 2:31) to 7 years of tribulation was to conveniently include the Rapture as part of that Day. What a good way for Dispensationalists to think Jesus will “gather all Believers on the last day, from earth to heaven … BEFORE rather than AFTER the great tribulation”? John 6:38-40; Mark 13:24-27; Matt.24:29-31.

Faithfulness to Scripture requires us to compare Paul’s “deliverance of all who believe from Vengeance and Wrath on the DAY Christ comes in glory” WITH that of the promised
“ESCAPE of a remnant of God’s former people on the DAY of the Lord”… when armies of the Gentiles are “gathered to the Valley of Decision”! Joel 2:32-3:18. Peter quoted Joel 2:28-31 but changed that “terrible day” to a “glorious day” … the Day of Deliverance even for Jews with all Israel saved! Rom.11:25-27.

Very convincingly, the substitution of “Days of Vengeance and Wrath” (lasting 1936 years) for the Jews has been “borrowed” from Luke 21:22-24 and applied incorrectly to ONE Day of the Lord when both Israel and Believers will be delivered from Wrath coming on those who “disobey the Gospel”!
    2 Thess.2:6-10:
“It’s a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you. And to you who are (finally) troubled REST with us when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire taking VENGEANCE on them that know not God and that obey not the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ ... when He shall come to be glorified in His Saints and to be admired in all them who believe on THAT DAY”!

Even though we disagree on some details, I think you nailed the problem with the dispensationalist and/or pre-trib position. I don't think you'll get anywhere in a discussion like this, though.

Thanks. True, I will not convince them against their will; but they still need to be reminded of the false basis for promotiing a Pre-Trib Rapture!
It is patently unScrptural to claim the Day of Wrath is more than a single
day. And Rev.6:9-11 reveals the last martyr must be killed before God
    avenges their blood.
