John Calvin never worked for the Roman Catholics whatsoever. Read a history book.

Well, the Church of Rome before the reformation was about the sole main church in the west of that time, and none of them regarded it as teaching sound and biblical doctrines in regards to salvation!

This is yet another case of you quoting an entire post of mine without reading it.

John Calvin never worked for the Roman Catholic Church, period.

But Roman Catholics do believe that they can do something for people after their death.

They do see Purgatory as the vehicle God uses to save most sinners, as only the very worst ever really end up in hell.

I don’t care. I’m concerned that they teach Christianity.

Oh really.... then unpackaged your statement by explaining just what they teach and then tell me how your dogma differs from catholic doctrine.

the big basic difference between what the Church of Rome holds salvation is, and what the Bible holds that it is, would be that Rome sees that a sinner MUST co operate with the grace God supplies to them in the 7 sacraments to get spiritually to a state in which they have become "good enough" to have God be then able to save them from their sins.
Bible teaches that once a sinner places faith into jesus and his finished work upon the Cross, he declares them to be saved period
Bible states that God imputes the righteousness of Christ towards us, while Rome holds that he infuses them with saving grace, God starts it, but they must finish it!

So what does an Arminian in the Methodist and Episcopal ... even the Presbyterians and Lutherans say about how they get saved?

So you believe that more people go to hell than they do?

Eternal Security is a belief introduced by Southern Baptists in the 1963 BF&M. It was not the true faith as described in the 1833 New Hampshire Confession and the 1925 BF&F. It is an abominable heresy that is doing a great deal of damage to those who believe in it for their eternal fate. The idea that anyone can shake the pastor's hand one time and then live like the unsaved for the rest of their life and be a member of the Kingdom of God both on Earth and eternally.

This is the Biblical truth from the 1925 BF&M:

    XI. Perseverance

All real believers endure to the end. Their continuance in well-doing is the mark which distinguishes them from mere professors. A special Providence cares for them, and they are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation.

    John 10:28-29; 2 Tim. 2:19; 1 John 2:19; 1 Cor. 11:32; Rom. 8:30; 9:11,16; Rom. 5:9-10; Matt. 26:70-75.

As stated in the 1833 New Hampshire Confession:

    11. Of the Perseverance of Saints

We believe that such only are real believers as endure unto the end;58 that their persevering attachment to Christ is the grand mark which distinguishes them from superficial professors;59 that a special Providence watches over their welfare;60 and they are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation.61

To my knowledge, all other Christian denominations other than the SBC accept this requirement that true believers endure until the end. This includes American baptists.

Free will Christians hold to us also contributing something to the process as Catholics do, but not o the degree is really another Gospel, as they would not affirm Sacramental grace.
Presbyterians would be affirming of calvinism salvation process.
Lutherans are between Catholic and reformed views, as while would see it as Grace alone faith alone, still ahs that sacramental grace imparted in water Baptism.
