    In another thread, Scarlett told us how she explained gross and net of paycheck to her class.

    One of the last paragraphs stated: Perhaps if you gave your children ..., itemize some "deductions" and I'll bet they appreciate the "net" pay so much more.

    Suppose you substitute "Welfare recipient" for your children.

    Hmm, I wonder how many deductions come out of stated checks?
