Not that this is necessary but shouldn't life be easier as a christian?
Or shouldn't you be happier? What do you do if instead you feel worse than before because of sins which you don't overcome for example? Then you always beat yourself up because of it and are angry at yourself. This doesn't really make life easier.
I don't know but somehow being a christian is becoming more like a burden for me. Right now everything repells me. I don't want to deal with all this happy clappy christian stuff. Happy worship songs make me angry. I'm so sick of this whole stuff and when I ask christians for advice I get no helpful advice. I only get different opinions or human "wisdom" or whatever you want to call it. But not even those which claim to hear from God can give me helpful advice. This makes everything look so ridiculous and weak. A pastor is something like a representant of God. He should know what God would tell me. When I ask him he should be able to ask God and tell me what God would tell me if he was here. This is how it should be! But it's not. Why do we even have pastors when they are as clueless as the whole rest?:mad:
I am so sick of this. This also makes God look so weak. When not even those which claim to hear from God and which claim miracle over miracle over miracle can really help me with my problems then this makes them look like phonies or it makes it look as if not even God can help me with my problems. It gives me the impression that God either cannot help me or that he doesn't care. :tear:

    woah.
    ---

umm. Jesus never promised it would get easier after 'becoming a christian' - never.
there must be Joy (different than happiness) and God will provide peace.

but only if you trust in him. those sins that keep haunting you - They will go away... only if you trust in God.

take up your cross. in the last days christians will be beheaded for the name of Jesus.

its only going to get tougher. only going to get tougher if you are living like Jesus Christ. it'll get easier if you live like the opposite of God. but, you live opposite and you're going to hell.

Trust in Christ - He will get you through hard times... He won't give you any temptation that you can't resist..

so those sins that you're having a hard time with - the Holy spirit will only help you avoid those if you trust and obey God.
    ---

hmm. did that help at all?

There are answers for you. They are not found in a pastor, or any other person. They are only found in the Word of God.

Do you really want to know what God says? You'll only find your answers in the Bible.

Do you really want God's help for your problems? You have to find out what He says - again, that's in God's Word. There are no substitutions. There are no quick, easy solutions. But there are answers if you look for them in God's Word.

I know that's not what you want to hear.

To answer your OP - no. But becomming a Christian has given me joy, inspite of my circumstances.

No man nor word of God promised life on this earth woiuld be easier as a Christian. Actually, just the opposite -- His followers will be persecuted for His sake.

For me, personally, I have been much happier living my life as His follower. His promises to me have been kept. I have seen the changes in lives of those who have committed to following Him. They are blessed.

I have been remiss in praying for you while on vacation. I shall return to doing so.

Ah, so the bible has an answer to every question? Interesting.

If I for example want to know which job to get I simply search the bible for the word "job".

When I became a Christian, I skipped home like a child, like the jailer I had now believed in God. It's been hard, but I believe that the end outweighs the present.

    God's way's are not our way's.

Yes I am happier, I will suffer all to get to heaven.

    David.

    I dont know. :(
Somehow I have often felt like I'm simply not supposed to be a christian. I'm simply too different and I don't enjoy this whole christian fellowship stuff at all.
It drags me down. I dont like worshipping or singing with others. It makes me depressive. This simply isnt me. :(
It felt much better and more natural when I was alone. Just me and no other christians. I dont even want to know what they do and what they believe in. When I started to listen to sermons and to get a glimpse of what christianity is about everything became complicated. In the beginning where it was just me it was so much easier. What if I simply cannot become like a mainstream christian? I mean they're all the same but I'm not like this. What if I simply cannot force myself to enjoy church and to enjoy worship? Does this mean that I'm not supposed to be a christian? I don't even know how I am. What if what I think I am isn't what I'm supposed to be? I know nothing. I dont even know if God accepts me this way or not. I dont know if he likes me this way or not. This sucks. Always this insecurity. And somehow I also feel drawn to becoming the way I was back then. Being so negative and all this. Hating my environment. It made life easier somehow. But now as a christian I know that I mustn't be like this but somehow I still have these thoughts. This also drags me down. Some people become christians and everything changes. They change and everything becomes good for them and no matter what they do they are successful and experience stuff with God. I don't have this at all. What do I do when being a christian simply doesn't help me? What if it only makes me more miserable? What if I decide one day that christianity simply doesn't help me? :(
I feel like the guy in romans 6. I know what I should do but I'm not doing it.
I should love everybody but I don't. What if I simply am not even born again?
This would at least explain all these things. :(

No -- and if you are seriously interested in finding out how, send me a PM and I'll attempt to help you find the answer in His word.

Ephesions 6:12. There are those who do not wish you to be joined with Christ. We here, do. Alone, with the Bible, in prayer -- that's not a bad place to be, is it?

I became a Christian in 1982 and have never regretted it! Jesus never promised His followers an easy life. In some parts of the world, it is very dangerous to be a Christian.

Peace I bequeath to you; My peace I give to you. I do not give you gifts such as the world gives. Do not allow your hearts to be disturbed or intimidated. John 14:27-28 Modern Language Bible aka New Berkeley Version. :1_grouphug:

    XDX,
Your OP was about spiritual questions. If you really wnat answers to spiritual questions, they're in the Bible - go find them! If you want help on what job to take, ask a friend.

Do you really want answers? They're available to you right now.

And... if you don't want honest answers to your spiritual questions, don't ask for 'em. If you don't want Spiritual guidance, don't ask for it.

But not all answers to all questions are in the bible.
This is the problem. The bible doesnt mention cellphones and microwaves and a lot of other things, too. When I have a totally specific problem then I also need a specific answer not some bible verse. :(
What really bothers me is that a lot of christians give standard answers to questions. Somebody has a problem and they simply give a standard answer which you could also have given to 100 different people with different problems. This makes me feel as if they don't care or as if maybe God also doesn't care about my problems. For example when I have a problem and ask a christian and he simply tells me to focus on others then I really feel not taken seriously. I feel like my problems don't matter at all. This is very disillusioning. This sounds like not even God has an answer for me. When I go to christians for help but only get answers which dont help me at all then what do I do? Talking about feeling helpless...

    XDX,

Sorry, I can't help you. I don't even know of anyone who can, except God Himself. But, again, that's not the answer you want.

The bible never tells us life will be easier, if anything it gets harder. Now we must struggle against some of the old stuff that we didn't think twice about, then theres peoples reaction to us when we refuse to be involved in certain things.
Happiness depends on happenings, things going on in our lives at the moment. Joy goes much deeper and comes from the indwelling Holy Spirit.
All things may not be in the bible, but we must use what the bible does teach to guide our beliefs and daily lives. It's called wisdom.

If all you have done is asked, and then sit back waiting for some kind of magic sign, or then turn on the TV preachers to find out what they say, then your right - nothing changes. But if you ask God and then search His Word for answers, I'm confident you'll find them. Everything we need to know about God is revealed in His Word. We may not find answers for everything - what job to take, what color car to buy, etc. But all the answers to Spiritual questions are there.

Again, there is no substitute for the Word of God - no preacher, especially no TV evangelist.

Let me encourage you to get a Bible (or Bible program) with a good concordance. Look up the word "joy" and read what the Bible says about it. I do believe that you will find your answers there.

It's not easy to grow in your faith all by yourself, but it is possible. It is better to grow in your faith among a body of committed Christians. The Christian life is a tough life, as many have told you already. But, the Christian life is also the best life - there's hope for both today and tomorrow, and without Christ, it's all hopeless.

Don't give up. Don't look for God's answers in ungodly places. You'll find them in the Bible. Go get 'em!
