Difference between Left/Right & Extremes

Okay, I will give you a paraphrase of what Ike said; Ike said that he went down the middle of the road and left the gutters to the far right and the far left. Others back in Ike's time said that the far right and the far left joined hands and completed the circle, which I understand to mean that both the far right and the far left are totalitarian. However, let me add that more recent scholarship has pointed out that fascism, nazism and communism--the three main isms of the 20th century, the bloodiest and darkest century in human history--are all the same because they are underlying socialistic and leftist totalitarianism. An example of the far right might be California during the Great Depression when California used their state police to prevent Oklahomans from entering California to search for work, as documented by John Steinbeck, American novelist.
