I will quote two verses in the King James 1611 edition and see what you think.11Peter 3:9, The LORD is not slack concering his promise, as some men count slackness, but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

John 10,27, 28. My sheep hear my voice , and I know them, and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Is this controversal in any way?
