Spurgeon is a great preacher, but I do not want to settle where he is at or be content and believe there is nothing more to learn from the scripture to change even what Spurgeon believed. Do not die and be content what people believed in 1600. The word of God can not be boxed up in 5 points or in a mans developed decrees. We are to continue to grow and mature by the very word we are being created into a new creation by. I know in my own American history. They burned witches by men who had sin enough to throw themselves into the fire. He with no sin cast the first stone or light the fire in this case. They didn't consider all the scripture that is out there just the one that says do not suffer a witch to live. Who is the elect an old creation or the new creation in Christ the one born again by His enduring word? Did Paul ever tell a non-believer they are the elect chosen before the foundation of the world who have not even trusted in Christ yet? We can not live by little pieces of bread men want to feed us, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.

We all have to enter His rest. The infants are they in His rest or have they already started working?

If you are going to call someone's post "imbecilic", Icon....next time, attempt to do it in a sentence which makes sense. Testy, testy....don't take it so seriously. I will give your Philosophers this much at least, they wouldn't attach unrelated sentence fragments to a statement when they are trying to call someone ELSE'S posts..."imbecilic".

    Refutation

    1) Only when we are united with Christ are we made alive. We are conceived in iniquity, eliminating an argument we are conceived "in Christ" and thus alive.

    2) These verses, Romans 5:12-15 are referring to being born spiritually dead, separated from God.

    3) The argument against evolution claiming no death before the fall is unbiblical. Unless one argues that plant life death, such as a fruit pulled from a living tree, and then eaten, does not count.

    4) "the many died" The many refers to mankind, and mankind "died" when Adam and Eve were separated from God. Thus rather than picturing individuals being conceived alive in iniquity, then subsequently being separated from God upon their first volitional sin, Paul is saying mankind died when Adam was separated from God. Awakened view has the many "dying" not by the trespass of the one (Adam) but by their own volitional sin.
