My heart soars like a hawk whenever He reveals something to me from His word, whether it by the preaching or meditation. This 'feeling' of joy, rejoicing, heart burning, from the Spirit has comforted and renewed the Saints from ancient times.

162 I rejoice at thy word, As one that findeth great spoil. Ps 119

32...Was not our heart burning within us, while he spake to us in the way, while he opened to us the scriptures? Lu 24

    ...so YOU say.

Were OT Saints Indwelt? (see poll at the top)

I rejoice at thy word, As one that findeth great spoil. Ps 119:162

...and he didn't even have the complete book as we do!

I say it's impossible for the natural man to "rejoice at thy word".

Well as I heard one old preacher say "It is not the posture of the body but the posture of the heart... When you feel like the publican then pour out your Heart, Soul and Body to GOD!... Brother Glen:)

Luke 18:10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

18:12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

18:13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

Pray for the FAITH to do so, ask to know the Word (Him) better, for that special relationship, for knowledge, understanding and wisdom in your love of the truth - be still, be patient, watch and listen while you remember these Words and wait:

Mat 7:7-8 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

    (8) For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

    Excellent!

5 But if any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all liberally and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. Ja 1

Kentucky I thought he was there and just needed a little nudge... But you have a point he just might be a fair weather Christian... I was just telling him you need to die to self, but if he is out of the loop so to speak he needs to get connected... I know I feel connected when I'm around those of like precious faith... Sometime the spirit (referring to myself) needs to be revitalized and recharged... Brother Glen:)

    Don't.

I was 35 years a believer until I really "felt" His comfort.
Then I realized that I had to quench His Spirit before I really felt the "absence" of it...so He was with me all along from the age of 12 after all; I just wasn't all that sensitive to it.
He gives us His Spirit as a Comforter...if you have no trouble being all alone and with God in His word, then to me, you have His Comforter.

As to when He might fill you with His Spirit?
Obey His word, and seek Him in prayer and reading everyday....it will come when He wants to fill you. ;)

This is what I do when I want to "feel His Spirit":
" Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded." ( James 4:8 )

Throw the world and its ways far from you...and He will reward it.
    Fast and pray.
Deny yourself, and take up your cross and follow Him.
Read His word and seek Him through it.

That's all there really is to finding Him, if you are His:

" Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."
    ( Matthew 7:7-8 )

The door is wide open to those who truly love Him:

" Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." ( Revelation 3:20 )

    Now, open yours. :Cool

May God, in His grace, bless you abundantly. :)

If you read kyredneck's profile (or as I call him Kentucky) you will see he is blessed by his involvement in church... My wife and I are involved in church too each in our own separate way... Hang around the ones who have the spirit and maybe you will catch it too!... Brother Glen:)

Galatians 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
