I was just curious to know if anyone has a massive collection of anything.

The only things that I have a large amount of right now are dvds & Playstation 2 games. I haven't counted them yet, but I'm willing to bet that I have over 500 dvds. I could probably open a small video store if i wanted to.

I have actually run out of room on where to place my newer dvds. I have a couple of dvd racks, but placing them close to the other ones will take up more room.

As far as Playstation 2 games go, I currently have 222. I am also very particular as to how I arrange them. I have a cd holder that can hold up to 352 discs. I arrange them alphabetically. Any of the games I haven't played yet I insert them upside down. Anytime, I buy a new game, its always a chore because I have to move games to a different slot to make room for the newer game. I always end up buying more every other week especially since they are much cheaper now (because of the Playstation 3). I don't play as many games or as long as I used to. Lately, I have been considering myself more of a video game collector as opposed to a video game player.

My wife and I together have more than 5000 books. Not massive if compared to a library, but they do dominate our basement. I am preparing to give much of my library to a seminary this fall.

I have a large collection of THINGS in my house! I am trying to wipe myself out.

I do have "large" collections of:

    * Postcards (Upwards of 5 or 6 thousand, maybe more)
    * Shadow boxes/printers trays (8 or more)
    * Christmas ornaments that are random and don't match.
    * Quilts that my mama made me (over 10 or 15)

Between my mother and myself, we have over 50 of my grandmother's quilts that she made over her lifetime.

Like, Joseph, I have a large book collection, though not as large as his. I am getting ready to donate a large portion to the public library. I already gave most of my Christian ones to my church library.

I also collect dust bunnies. [IMG]

By comparisio my collections aren't that big, but I have what to me and my limited space is a large collection of scrapbook supplies, but a friend of mine has 3x the space and 5x the supplies, so my collection isn't large. Me and all it, plus the washer are in a 7'x9' space
I have a good size collection of books, but not thousands, no space.
I have a good size collection of vintage kitchen utensils, but had to pack it all away in the basement, again, no space.
    My house is just tiny.

I have a nice collection of commemorative Coca Cola bottles that I have collected over my 19 years as a Coca Cola sales rep. I do sell them from time to time on eBay.

I have several totes full of fabric, as I LOVE to sew. Also, many cookbooks since cooking is another favorite activity.

My father was in the Coast Guard during the 80's & 90's. He had to go to Cuba during the early 90's. He brought back a Coca-Cola can from Cuba. What I though was interesting about it was that it had a pull tab (ones that you tear off) similar to what beer cans used to have.

One time I was also in Birmingham, AL at the Riverchase Galleria. They had a big Coca-Cola display that had different kinds of cans & bottles from around the world & even from years ago. I thought that was pretty neat.

I have collected Hot Wheels First Edition cars that are replicas of Chrysler products since about 1994. This probably amounts to about 60 cars. I do not have them on display and have not looked at them in a while, so not sure of the count. I keep them hidden away and have never opened the packages. I have other Chrysler replicas but will probably start to divest myself of those before I move again.

Just children - four of them. When trying to feed them, it's a pretty big collection.

Between children, grands and visitors, afraid I have no collections..I am guessing that books are not considered a collection.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I have a very large record collection. Everything from rock, country, jazz, folk, whatever, from the 40's up to the early 90's, when they finally stopped making them.

My children have quite a large library. It's divided into three sections: "The Library of Destruction" (books like "The Dangerous Book for Boys" and the like), "The Library of Freedom" (a lot of biographies, history books, and other books that shape their little minds to be good Americans), and "Theater of the Mind" (mostly fiction books).
