Maybe you better get a new bible.

Psalm 11:5 The LORD tests the righteous, But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.

</font>[/QUOTE]cassidy, my Bible is fine, thanks. To counter you text, here is one

"Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance" (Psalm 106.40) Is this speaking of the saved or unsaved? [IMG]

Fine... using the redefinitions given above then we have for John 3 --

"God so loved SOME of the World (just the ELECT) that He sent His Son to earth to win His favor by sacrfice, and He innexplicably (Arminians say arbitrarily) selecte a subset of the WORLD to be the Elect. Then having changed the elect (but innexplicably not all at once) HE CAUSED them to believe on Him that as MANY as HE CAUSED to believe might be saved".

Indeed such a text would be devoid of ANY willful act of man -- NONE whatsover! No choosig, no act the will... NOTHING but the droid that Calivnism aspires for him.

But "innexplicably" the text of John 3 is NOT worded in that Calvinist fashion.

I wonder "why"? Hmmm that is a tough one.

In the book of Acts we are told that MANY of the priests and leaders of the Jews were coming over to Christianity. If God had "thought" to "CAUSE" them to believe in the lifetime of Christ or just prior to the Cross OH What a blessing that would have been for the Jewish nation and WHAT a great and successful Gospel that would have been?

(At least that is the way it appears if one adopts Calvinism's idea of CAUSING them first to be alive in Christ and THEN obsering that all that are enabled to choose immediately CHoose Christ!)

That is "IF" Calvinism were actually true.

    In Christ,

    Bob

Irrelevant. Your thesis was that God does not hate anybody, but loves everybody. That thesis has been disproved.

Lets stick to the facts, if you don't mind

"God so loved the WORLD"... -- yes "really"!

Loved the WORLD?? -- Yes Loved the WORLD!
    Really??? -- Yes "really"!

    "ALL" mankind?? Yes! all mankind!
    "Really"?? Yes! Really.

But what about "all mankind EVERYWHERE really and without exception"???

    YES! - Even there.

The problem with Calvinists - is that you have to KEEP telling them the same thing that scripture says because they are trying to find a way out of the problem to help out Calvinism.
